We may have good funds here but our quality of life is very poor.

I have lost many friends from preventable causes of deaths in Nigeria.

A woman relocated to Canada from a well paying job in Abuja, I asked her why she took such decision despite the wealth her family has in Abj.
I
She narrated her sad experience: how she lost her husband in National Hospital, Abuja.
To me it was a preventable death.

That if she remains in Nigeria, same fate may befall her remaining family members.
I quickly understand her reason for relocation and she is happy with herself and family.
.....my sanity is preserved over there..... were her words.

My dear, yesterday I left my house in asaba to Issele uku by 4pm, picked some stuff and turned around to start going back to asaba.

This would be around 6pm. on getting to the asaba - Benin express way(that I just passed), I saw a crowd, wetin done happen now now.....i parked my car by the road.

Came down, loo and behold the dreaded kidnappers were operating, we could see them from a distance.

After abt 5min waiting I saw signs that police men where there , so I drove down . They just kidnapped people, how many we can't say, several cars were abandoned along the road.the occupants all ran into the bush.

After awhile the owners started coming out of the bush. But two cars were left unclaimed. We started looking around nearby bushes and found people's laptops and book thrown away.

As we speak now, some people are held captive in the bush. I saw a police dpo around and asked if his men won't chase after the boys? He didn't even answer me.

I just passed this place and was about to pass it again now, it's only by God's mercies that I didn't fall victim. This happened koro koro in my eyes.

Every community has it's issues but our own is without plan to address the issue. This year alone I've heard of this kidnappings along the same road 4x, now I've seen the 5th myself.

I must leave this country. Just have to figure it out.

Those people saying where their is a problem, their is an avenue to make money, pls by all means enjoy.

A country where the constitution is faulty and because of tribal and religious sentiment nobody wants to fix it.

A country where all the institutions are weak. The rule of law in the dustbin.

You even asked the wrong question.
1)Ask am where in Asaba he lives.
2)Why will a very comfortable man doing well in life go to the outskirts of town by 4pm not to even go and attend to an emergency, but probably go and buy foodstuffs grin
What will be his motivation?Saving cost I guess.
Saving cost in 2 flanks;
Flank 1;He is saving petrol cost for his car because the outskirt of town is close to his residence. This should tell you he lives out of the city.
Flank 2;Saving purchase cost.
Now ask yourself, how much is that item sold at modern markets and how much does the same stuff go for in that outskirt part of town?
Now with these analogies, don't this tell you what part of the social strata the wannabe migrant fall in?
This thread has a lot of delusionist in it so thread carefully nwanne.
I wish you luck in all your life endeavours and may Nogeria favour you so you wont be a story teller like most of our brothers here,
Amen grin

I'm guessing this is reason enough to say public hospitals are better by your standards.
Medicine is a very big practice that makes it almost impossible for a private firm to cater for all its departments, reason why many private units are specialist hospitals.
But in that field or aspect they specialise in brother, there is no comparing them with their public counterparts, and I mean the good private hospitals not some makeshift whatever.
2)Can you compare the care and attention you will get from a private hospital attending to just a few number of people to that of a public one that attends to the entire populace of lagos and Ibadan in a day?I mean even their so called best doctors are fatigued day in,day out and you expect good performance from such an overworked person?
They don't even bother to wash their coats again for gods sake grin
3)Does having all departments mean all of them is running at optimal level?
You don't have to reply me as I don't expect you to in the name of you not wanting to be in an exchange or being trolled, its just food for thought.

Do you know how many Professors of Medicine who are Consultants and Fellows we have in a single Government hospital?

How many private hospitals can afford to have just 1 Professor of Medicine in full employment, working exclusively for them?

Government hospitals have the best expertise.
