I used cocopeats ... the germination wasnt the problem.. they just kept dying 1 after the other after a month

I don't know what can cause that...both seedlings tray and raised bed work for me but I prefer seedlings tray to raise bed. One of my colleague mention one nutrient, if add with cocopeat will make the crop stand and last in nursery. I will definitely try it with cocumba and share my observation...

I am definitely following. I am planning to start a 200 stand vertical sack tomato farm in my compound. Everywhere is cemented so I cannot make a bed. Will the black nursery polyethylene bags work fine for a nursery? What controls should I put in place when growing the nursery. Can I leave them under a car shade, in the open or do they need a more enclosed space?
Does anyone know where I can get farm equipments and services in Ota?

The nursery is 23 days old today

It was also ridge today..the distance is 1.2meters interval and the distance between tomato on the ridges is 30cm. So it will be 30cm by 1.2meters..i will finish drip installation latest by Tuesday

since it for consumption...I don't think you need any paparazzi we are going through..just follow lay man procedure.. though you may need to apply little fertilizer at some stage... good luck...let make Nigeria great.

it varies and depend on choice, using my own as an example I bought it #650/128 hole.. the same 128 hole but inferior quality #500. so it depends on your choice.

I finished installation of drip on 14th of March..it was not an easy job because am using used drip ( so many bust).

I planted it on 15th and 16th of March.....not also easy because it was only me,but I will not lie am also enjoying every moment on field.

nope....but have spray it with Rich soil and saaf...

The tomato is two month old yesterday. Have spray it 6 times with SAAF, alternateing rich soil and sharp shooter as my insecticide.

If you are following this thread am so sorry for not updating on regular basis, it due to workload. Am also doing control spray in 3 hectare cassava farm. Have started staking the tomato, some has starting to flower.
