ahiboilandgas:It's really disheartening to read things like this. This is the reason Black communities don't grow. Before money leaves the Jewish community, it circulates 6 times. But here, the money only circulates one. Just imagine the amount we spend in importing things or patronising businesses that are not Nigerian. We have a long way to go. We have a duty to educate our kids to discern this type of things |

emmanuelewumi:We need more of these stories to change the narrative. If you go to the departure hall of our international airport, you see many back face, but go to the arrivals you see white, yellow and orange face. Definitely there must be something they are seeing that we are not. Could it be that our entitlement mentality or work culture is what is setting us back? I'm opprtuned to work in a place where there is a motley of different nationalities. They way the Americans and Asians approach their work is very different from the way we do ours. The foreigners believe that they have a job to do so "let's get it done", but my naija brothers are only interested in collecting salary. So while the white is interested in completing his task within the shortest possible time in his shift, the Nigerian is interested in delaying the task so that his 12-hour shift would end. This I think has reflected in our business and social life |

zamirikpo:the truth is that oil and gas business (downstream) is going to change forever with the liberalization of pms price .margins is going to be a disaster and cannot sustain a filling station ..filling station will take the 1st hit , follow by trucking, then depots then vessels then foreign refinaries ....the same way dangote did to cement...so i hope oil and gas business is not the enterprise stoping you from migrating...the president of ipman (my oga) has been pulling back and buying properties.... |
| Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by zamirikpo(m): 11:08am On May 04, 2020 |
ahiboilandgas:Na wa ooo, I hope it doesn't happen like this. Oooh. I run two filling stations, one in asaba and another in Issele ukwu. Am even in talks with the owner of one of them to buy it outright. Before this whole wahala. Landing of PMS was #140, so we were selling with a margin of #5,. Since they changed price I've been buying fuel #123, just #2. So if u aren't doing volumes, u can't pay salary sef. But what I see is a battle upstream not down stream, cos it'll be a battle for who buys where at what price. And essentially who has access to $ at the official rate. For us downstream, we'll buy from the best bargain. Then dangote refinery is coming, I wouldn't mind doing a franchise if he allows it, I heard he orderedt 1000 trucks for delivery. If dangite refinery starts, depot owner will be in trouble cos am sure importing fuel will be more expensive than dangote fuel. Even buying dangote fuel and transporting to ur local depot in oghara or calabar will be counter-productive. People must buy fuel, we must sell fuel and we must find away to get the best bargain in the country. Competition would have been serious if dangote had filling stations. Remember price modulation discussion hasn't been settled. IPMAN could take industrial action if running their stations is no longer profitable. We don't ask for much just #5. And abeg we need to talk on a different platform, I sent my email some pages back don't know if u saw it |

Please my people in the building, if i invest my 1M in treasury bill for 90 days at 10% interest, what will be my total balance at the end? Thanks for your kind info |
| Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Lionhearted: 12:01pm On May 04, 2020 |
Adefajofashola:1M*10=10million. That is for 1 day. At the end of 90 days you will get 10million*90days=900Million. Unbelievable right? Take time to check pages 1-10 of the thread to confirm OTHERWISE. |
| Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by conyema12(m): 12:13pm On May 04, 2020 |
Adefajofashola:You should be left with about 24,000 naira While about 975, 000 will be debited. I didn't include the bank charges... That should be in the neighborhood of about 3k or less |

| Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by IamR: 1:04pm On May 04, 2020 |
Adefajofashola:You can't get 10% interest even on 364 days tenor. See the result of the last auction below: 91 days - 1.85% 182 days - 2.5% 364 days - 3.8% Use it to calculate your expected interest. Note that all the interests are calculated per annum. |

ahiboilandgas:Oga Ahib, what opportunity does the Dangote refinery present for local entrepreneurs? I know about real estate in that area, do you think it would be a good idea to buy and build properties in that area in anticipation that Dangote staff will rent? What other opportunities are there? |
