Ok guys, I've not written much on this forum but I'm an active member. So straight to the point, my dad passed away in February after battling stroke since October last year. His death was surrounded by a couple of conspiracy theories which have there foundation on issues surrounding his illness and death. The first was that a rival contractor was the cause. BTW he worked at PZ as a maintenance contractor. He was in the factory when he had the stroke. Second conspiracy theory was that our village people were responsible, due to the fact that he just finished the foundation of the house he has been longing to have as a man of 63 yrs yet to have a house of his own. Some other theories but I don't wanna lengthen dis post more than it is already, so back to the topic when my father took ill I was trying to conclude my clearance as a fresh graduand of chemistry. I received the news and made for home the next day. I was the closest to my dad although I'm the last child. While I went to see him in the hospital he could barely talk, as the stroke had affected his right part of his brain. So I struggled to hear what he told me in the night almost everyone in the hospital was asleep including my brother and sister. He told me that he had a dream where he saw his dead father welcoming him home to there house in the village and the same nyt dream of where one of his close friends that was dead at the time was asked to lead in prayer for them to eat at a gathering. I don't usually take dreams for anything so I told him that they don't mean anything even tho I was scared of the weird dreams. So fast forward to March 27th when we returned from his burial I went into his room to just look around. I opened a bag on top of his wardrobe and saw hundreds of sheets of paper with something written on all. I started reading and found out that they were all recorded dreams dating back to 2000(when we packed into our house) now the weird thing is that it seems this dreams where written down almost daily or at least 3 times a week. I read about 40 of them before I couldn't read anymore cos of the nostalgia it caused. I'm curious if anyone else does this, and should dreams be taken this seriously?

I used to , but had to stop when it became uninteresting. But I still keep an online diary of my dreams and when ever I feel like going through it, I login and start reading. It interesting most times and it gives you the assurance, that no body can gain access to your online dream.

Were they dreams of your late father?

As for me, I take vivid dreams seriously but I don't write them down...I just never forget them.
The ones I forget when I wake up, I don't think too much on them.

Your father seems like a very detailed man who paid very close attention to things...a good sign of someone with an above average IQ.
My condolences to you on his passing.

As for documenting his dreams, I find this very fascinating mostly because a lot of people would not remember their dreams in details after an hour of waking up...so the combination of his consistency in writing and the ability to recall them, is really astonishing.

I see nothing wrong in the behaviour though, I think I should even consider doing the same thing whenever I can...just for the excitement & nostalgia I know I'll feel from reading documentations of my own dreams. cool

Thanks. You are right tho I hardly remember my dreams at all, even less in details. Sometimes I only remember I had a dream days after. My dad even cross checked his dreams with future dreams and compared there consistency. The details were so unprecedented

Keep them.
It must have meant a lot to him to take down details of his dreams, considering the fact that he tried as best as he possibly could to tell you his dreams even on his sickbed.
That was like him taking down notes.

it makes sense now. You are right. I tried so much to discourage him from trying to narrate the dreams because it was very difficult for him to say a word on his sick bed. But he refused. Even in obvious pain and discomfort he carefully narrated Dem just as if he was writing an essay, he even said the dates. After which he felt a bit relieved

I write my dreams down. I have several books for different years and I'm still young.

I suspect when I turn 68, it might be considered abnormal. But it gives me comfort and helps me channel my prayers better.

For me personally, these dreams come in relation to what I've asked God for or situations I'mgoing through. And I take pleasure in going through them and seeing the physical evidence of answered prayers.

Your dad came across as one who acknowledged God. God spoke to him through dreams but I am not sure he understood it all. If he had seen one who really understood with him what some of his dreams meant, somethings would have been averted. And that he even documented them would have made God spoke more to him but it ends with him understanding them well.

That dream your father told you on his dying bed, is his legacy to you, clearly Habakkuk2:2 and that you have stumbled upon his written ones, is that you may run with it. His dying dream was clear and simple, to tell you that the future is communicated through dreams, that he is a proof and that you should get serious with dreams too.

What caused your dad's death is highly likely in his documented dreams. Some things about you may also likely be there. If your dad his going to have any opportunity to let a thing come to you from the spirit realm, he is going to trust you getting it via dream because he told you what to look out for.

I gave up on Christianity and theism even B4 my dad took ill. There are some dreams I read that would firmly suggest the cause of his death when correlated with his last words. BTW my dad died while crying and shedding tears. According to him he was being flogged by some evil men and they were accusing him of something falsely. That is the much he said B4 going into coma and dying shortly. But my newly found way of thinking made me not want to seek any meaning to those dreams. And I have strong reason not to. The Dreams are all with me. I bought a padlock and locked the bag. but I kept the documents mostly for rememberance. I could hear his voice while reading them.

There were things that could've been averted if he had known how to go about it.

Hmmmm! A spiritual person never jokes with dreams. It's a link between the physical and the spiritual.
Personally, I put down dreams for record purposes. Not all though. Dreams tells the spiritual stand of whatever I am going through at a moment in life.

Take time and carefully read through all that he has documented.
It is a bequest and you are most likely to get some insight.

you gave up on Christianity? No offense but u are already failing the test of life as a result of your choices. If you quote me, I will not reply. Go back to the God of your father and preceded the level he functioned in while alive. Shalom

They might not be necessary dreams. Find out from ur mother if ur father always have time for meditation. They might come there.
