Try to survive the pandemic first before deciding whether you will need a phone afterwards.
Naija people for you, even when death is staring them in the face they think of trivial things like owambe parties and phones!

Yes o. Almost the price of many things increased. Samsung Galaxy A20s was sold at 53,500 before the lockdown at slot but it is now sold for 62,500. Sumec firman 3800 was sold at 85,000 before lockdown but not sold at 105,000.
You couldn't be more accurate. I know this because I bought A20s two months ago. Seeing the price now all I could say is lol. Jumia sells for above 70k

The price of staple food (garri, rice, beans etc) we produce and consume locally increased let alone price of phones that is dependent on forex.

OP... I will advise you hold on a bit cos prices of phone have gone rooftop...

I dont understand why cos since lockdown was in effect I want to believe no phone was imported during that period... unless they are saying underground importation was going on...

Then again... this phones i want to believe are old stock which they must have had before the lockdown... but since no sales they increased prices to try and regain as much profit as possible to the detriment of the buyer...

Na them sabi sha...
there was an increase in Dollar rates before lockdown. you need to factor that

If they like let them increase it. These electronics are not the necessities to stay alive but food, medicines and other physiological needs like shelter, sleep, clothing and reproduction. When these basic physiological needs are provided, others can be adjusted. Imagine me buying a phone of 250k which xiaomi redmi note note 9 can give me at 75k

Lockdown doesn't affect shipment of goods totally however phone vendors would find excuse to increase their price

$ to Naira was almost 470 last week
Do you want sellers to sell to you at the normal 360 rate cos hey like you?

undecided

Well, since most phones are made in China, currently, Nigeria is on international lockdown including shipments.. This makes the available product in d market limited. Definitely, their prices will be inflated cos they r limited

Nigerians should bear it in mind that aftermath of covid 19 will be Inflation, jobless people will insist of lockdown, exchange rate high, imagine life revolve around lot of things, without phone no communication, without work or food depression kills faster than covid 19,people's capital where spend during lockdown, offices are close, imagine civil servants with no salary for coming 5months because of coro, salaries are being splash and lay off is another matter of the day. Kids will feed, wife will nag if food stuff finish but if we are better inform about how to protect ourselves then we will live still when vaccine will be produce.
May God heal the world and have mercy on us
