Oh boy.. this is gonna be a long one.

So Muslims always pat themselves on the back thinking that there are some "miracles" or information in quran that were the "revelations of god" and no human could have known or figured out that information except quran.

Having practiced islam for almost 14 yrs in the past, these were the things which made me think twice about leaving islam. Of course i could have easily figured out these things if i read more than just one senseless book or even used google efficiently. Anyhow grab yourself a cup of coffee and here are 6 weapons that u can use against a muslim in the next argument. I left out the extremely ridiculous ones like "mohd breaking the moon in half", "mohd covering a distance of 1 month worth of travel in one night", "mohd miraculously increasing food and water supply" and the list goes on. Anyways here it goes.

1- Origin Of Life

claim : 60% of adult human body & 3/4th of the universe is water which they claim is only first predicted by quran by this tiny and fruitless verse

"We made every living thing from water. Will they not believe?" (Quran 21:30)

Answer:

Long before the arrival of the quran many religions, cultures and individuals had claimed the same. Some examples

1,400 yrs before Islam, The Hindu legend Of Varaha states that the universe was once primordial waters.
The father of philosophy and science, Thales Of Miletus, in his search for "arche" was convinced that everything including life is ultimately made of water. Furthermore, he added that flesh, when dried or cooked, looses moisture, and that water so easily transition between the states of liquid, vapour and ice.
Even the Christian and Jewish Book of Genesis which was written thousands of years before muhammad attested to this fact:

Genesis 1:20

And God said, "Let the waters bring forth living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the vault of the sky."

2- Orbit Of The Sun

claim : Quran was the first to conclude that earth revolves around the sun

"It is he who created night and day, the sun and the moon, each floating in its orbit." (Quran 21:33)

Answer:

The Quran actually claims that the sun orbits around the Earth! This is a demonstrably false fact which completely discredits any idiotic claim that the Quran is a book of science!

Furthermore, 400 yrs before Islam in 3rd century, Aristarchus of Samos, an ancient Greek astronomer and mathematician, presented the first known HELIOCENTRIC MODEL that placed the Sun at the center of the known universe with the Earth revolving around it. Which provides much more info than the above "god's revelation".

This model then gained traction in 14-15th century by Copernicus, Kepler and Galileo.

3- IRON COMES FROM METEORITES

claim : that iron comes from meteorites from outer space and it was firstly and only predicted in "quran" which doesn't even mention how and when

"We sent down iron with its great inherent strength and its many benefits for humankind." (Quran 57:25)

Answer:

People knew way, way before islam that iron comes from meteorites. 1900 yrs before islam, Egyptians even gave it a name, a hieroglyphic word which literally translates to "from the sky" and this word was then used in accordance to all metallic iron. So its obvious where the quran picked the "iron from the outer space" but even this statement is not entirely true.

Iron doesn't exclusively come from space. A significant portion of earth crust is made up of iron minerals (the crust is 8.1% iron by weight). There has been iron on the earth since its formation, and people had known about iron smelting for thousands of years before the quran was written.

4- SKY IS A CEILING AND IT PROTECTS US

claim : is that of the ozone layer and its protective properties and how it was first predicted in quran by this futile verse

"We made the sky a protective ceiling. And yet they are turning away from our signs!" (Quran 21:32)

Answer:

First of all, the sky isn't a ceiling, there's lots of empty space above the sky. The quote also doesn't say how the sky protects us, or even from what. It simply doesn't give any meaningful information.

The ozone layer was discovered in 20th century, true but the discovery that sky has the protective qualities was made thousands (likely tens of thousands) of years ago.

The first culture to attribute the sky's protective aura to a god was the Mesopotamian, who worshiped the divine personification of the sky, Anu.

5- MOUNTAINS STABILIZE THE EARTH

claim : is that mountains play vital role in the stability of the earth, which is complete rubbish (if you know even the basics of geology)

"Did we not make the earth a resting place? and the mountains as stakes?" (Quran 78:6-7)

Answer:

Mountains don't act as stakes to keep the earth's crust stable. Mountains are actually the result of tectonic plates colliding. They are the result of instability.

One look at the earthquake epicenters will tell you that those epicenters are almost always located within mountain ranges. which goes without saying that mountains aren't much help in stabilizing the earth's crust.

6- ASSOCIATION OF LYING WITH BRAIN

claim : god called abu jahl's forehead, a sinful and lying forehead because forehead (frontal lobe) is responsible for lying and of course as always, they were the first

"No indeed! If he does not stop, we will seize him by the forehead, his lying, sinful forehead."(Quran 96:15-16)

Answer:

Here we go again

Go back 12,000 yrs to the Neolithic period, It was Ancient Egyptians who figured out that the brain is the locus of thought (or at the very least an essential part). They used to remove the human brain from the body for experiments by trepanation surgery, which are depicted in cave paintings and thousands of skulls to accompany them.
1,200 yrs before Islam (5th Century BC), Alcmaeon Of Croton accurately concluded that all senses and memories are seated in the brain.
1,300 yrs before Islam (4th Century BC), Hippocrates accurately associated many cognitive impairments with the brain, and even speculated that the brain's two halves are capable of independent processing.

One thing to love about the all knowing is that He doesn't care about what the infidels expect. BTW the Quran didn't only mention those six listed by the op.The Quran also talks about the development of the baby in its mothers womb and atoms/cells. He should "debunk" them as well
