oduamine:

@dr haastrup i don't av anytin against u,just that this thread is meant to bring ttc 2geda,to share our pains, help n heal eachoda.
If u want to give advice on fertility u can do it on anoda thread.
Ok what odunamine said and how I feel are EXACTLY the same we are not a pity party here. I have looked at your answers to questions Dr hastrup and they are educative so i have nothing against that but when i just see people asking one question, with new id's popping up it makes it look like an answer and question thread instead of a community that it is meant to be .
It is a thread meant for people going through infertility to come in talk about it and not just for people who have one question and never come back again. It was not meant to be a ask Dr blah blah any question and he gives you answers like some other health threads.
(Share pains?, heal each other?
Is that a way out?, Pity party or knowledge about what you have and a way to get treatment and where to get one.)
Yes Dr hasstrup that is exactly what we have been doing here share stories and heal each other with words and look for solutions to issues arising.
Everything is just not simple cut and nail and drugs and go and see doctors. it takes a toll on you emotionally and psychologically ,that is why i made this as an outlet . As it is the internet i have no claim to anything but I think some of us love it the way it was and meant to be.

I am with Arlington on this. I have been a silent reader for months and have felt everyone's pains as if they were mine. But now it has changed to question and answer session. Why don't u open a separate thread on fertility issues.
Re: Trying To Conceive A Child? TTC by camrygmail: 8:39pm On Aug 09, 2011
@Arly , my assumption is that some of the people who write once and don't post again are *silent readers* who have been following the thread.

I am not in anyway supporting/defending Dr. Haastrup or Arly, but i believe the Dr put his/her contact info on this board. So Arly, as the group moderator/creator, i suggest you take a stand. if you don't like what Dr is posting then create a house rule  and ask people to contact the Dr. directly via email or phone, if they have a direct question for him/her. Now who ever does not like your rule, can either leave or stay.

Shikaina. lets move on.

How is every one else doing?

@Mypearl sorry to hear about the miscarriage, have you tried seeing a nutritionist  or someone who can advise on what food/drinks/herbs may help (or what foods to avoid).  i pray you get relief soon.

@blank , as a silent reader, are you also TTC? or do you know someone who is trying to TTC? Not sure why I would want to read other people's stories and not offer support. just wondering,

Thanks Arlington. I'm gonna start a new thread but sincerely do you feel threatened? Because some of the knowledge i share are what people pay for, and with that knowledge the problem is half solved.

Potu,  cheesy

Dr  Haastrup, you saying do I feel threatened is really petty of you , SINCE YOU HAVE ALL THIS KNOWLEDGE  open your own thread and give free advice I know people will appreciate it. just keep it moving thank you.

I see your point,

TTC can be stressful and depressing at times and it is always good to have a best friend who understands and give good advice. I am sure your friend is lucky to have you.

ttc on nl is a thread dt healed me emotional when i lost my 5wks pregnancy in march, hear my story before d pregnancy in february.
Desperate to have a baby by all means i told a friend abt it n she said 'i used clomid for my 2nd child', i decided to try it .
Used clomid in december 2010 , ovulated but missed d big O with my hubby, i used clomid 50mg per day
january used 100mg per day and hit d big O.Got prego in february had a miscarraiage in march, i felt bad i was wounded
decided to wait for some months before using clomid again, after d miscarriage my period was regulated to 28day cycle for 2months then it changed to 24days cycle.
Got pregnant last month but wasn't on clomid , i studied my cycle, did research n discovered my LH is btw 10 n 12days.
What i want to share with d house is research, prayers n patience, i dont know if it was d clomid dat caused d miscarriage or d journey i took from jigawa state to lagos by road, or may d clomid increased my hormones levels in d body?
Am taking folic acid now n decided to start antenatal soon after receiving replies from a thread i posted.
Praying really hard now cos i want this baby n begining to fall in luv with ,
I pray for others 2u n God will continue to be our strength we shall not be barren.

I am a Professional Fitness Trainer who trained in the States and had a brief stint in China. And i was opportuned to garner fertility experience having being accommodated by a gynecologist. They use simple remedies and techniques that produce amazing results.

When i returned to the country i realised some doctors(naturopathists) are already using these methods, even to the point of deciding sex of the child/production of twins.

Dear Arlington, come and judge oh. shocked

I want to share my experience of my encounter with Dr. Haastrup. Am not saying authentically that he is scam but am pointing towards that direction.
I have been TTC for 11 months and am a silent reader of Arlington's tread (TTC). Dr. Haastrup came on board and I got impressed with his level of information and his st. nicholas email addy. I decided to give him a call. I read my hormone profile result to him, and he told me outrightly that my biological age was ticking and I should act fast. I panicked and agreed to meet him up at luth. Not knowing my way there, he agreed to pick me up at Obalende, he was really nice and I was impressed with his kind gestures. Alarm bell started ringing when he was overly nice, waited for me infront of Oceanic bank and called me numerous times.
I picked him, and I commented on how nice he was, and gave me some tales on how it's just his nature. We got to luth and I was expecting us to go to his office, but alas he took me to some dingy doctor's hostel. I told him, I was uncomfortable but he sweet talked me out of it.
Every being in me wanted to turn back and go home, but as a despereate woman I said, this might be my messiah, why not give hime a trial.
He had a back pack, and looked nothing like a medical doctor. He brough out a plastic bag and took my blood sample. It was so unprofessionally done and he puntured my hand, 3 times before he could get a blood sample. He said he wld treat me with pregnyl as it was more potent than clomid. He injected me with the mixture.(He collected N28,000 for pregnyl and N20,000 for consultation).

He offered to show me a shorter route home on the agreement that I would pay for his taxi back home. We spoke a lot on the drive home, and he told me he works in Chevron's clinic and lives on the island. He also mentioned about some courses he took in canada. I commended his long articles and he said, oh it was easy for him to write since he types directly from his head!

Well, I went on to the internet, and was shocked to realise that Pregnly was a stimulant used to induce final stage of follicle development.Usually admistered right before ovulation. Ovulation takes place within 48 hrs of the Injection,.Our dear Dr. Haastrup administered his to me on day 3 of my cycle while I was still on my period. I told him my fears, and he said hit does not matter that different different, different times of administration. Only for him to tell me again today that he would have to repeat the dose just before my ovluation!

I further went on to the interent to get more information and I was shocked to see that most of the articles he posted on his tread were directly lifted from a fertility clinic in india. www.drmalpani.com.

Dear Allington,

Thanks for your reply. The needles were new, I know I was careless, but God delivered me on time from Dr. Haastrup. The same God would see to it that I conceive in due season.

For every one that thinks they can make money from emotionally broken and desperate women, God would judge you.

It is well.

Madam Mogbomoya,

U took a high level of risk, despite the fact that you are desperate pls let's always apply caution. I would not allow a stranger touch me if it is not in a proper hospital setting.

i still await the Doctor to come up here and give his own explanation. pls severe all ties with him and for any assistance there are registered fertility clinics around town who will investigate your health history before any administration can be done.

i'm so in shock right now, what did he take your blood for sef orisirisi lo wa laye

Dear all, thank you for not critizing me too much in ur comments. I have learnt my lessons. He said he was taking my blood so as to do another hormonal test. He called this morning to tell me the results.

I have told my hubby,I thot he wld shout at me, he blamed it on himself for not agreeing for us to go together for a proper check up.

I would share my testimony on this forum very soon. God is alive, his words true. He loves me too much, but I refused to heed to all of his warnings.

Thank God it's only N50K that I lost (28k - pregnyl, 20k - consultation, 2k - taxi fare). What if I was raped? What if I had died or had an accident after the high dosage (5000 iu) of pregnyl that he gave to me. I was so drowsy afterwards for 2 straight days!

I have learnt. cry

Am sorry if i came across to you as harsh but like we all know safety comes first and understand ur situation but will thank the Lord that you are here today to share this with us and also to forewarn anyone who might fall victim.

I know there are total strangers who will help without holding back, i think it is a gross SIN against humanity to take advantage of people's predicament.

My dear, the Lord will visit you and you will sing a song of victory very soon like Stages, Arly, Luvly etc. etc. in this forum.

It is well dearie,

Shalom!!!

Unbelievable, are my eyes deceiving me.

@ Mogobomoya, , for the sake of not wanting to sound too harsh. i will just say that , How could you have put yourself in such great danger? Most of the advise given on these forums should be taken with caution, I would have only agreed to meet up with the DR at St. Nicholas since that is where he claims to practice as a DR. And only after researching, and only after finding out from St. Nicholas that he is affiliated with them, searching for reviews of his practice e.t.c

I thank God for you that you are okay. Please next time you decide to go on an adventure please take your husband or a trusted a friend with you or even better listen to your guts.

By the way , Mogbomoya would you have told us about your encounter, if the Dr had not asked you to come back for another round of injection (N28k no be small money)? It seems to ME that was when you decided to label him as a deceptive. and not when he was taking you to a dingy hostel and administering injections in a non hospital setting.

@Dr , if you are reading, what is your own side of story.
Re: Trying To Conceive A Child? TTC by camrygmail: 4:04pm On Aug 16, 2011
@Mogobomoya, sorry if my last post sounds harsh (not my intention at all) . i must say you were brave to share your story. d

By they way do you have a primary Dr/obgyn , may be you should consult with them and let them know what happened.

I was so touched when i read this though addressed to Arlington,You have to be very very careful when you are dealing with people especially online.Your alarm bells ringing should have never been ignored, its your body way of saying sit back and re access the situation,do more research, ask more questions, ask the moderators. Information is a click away thanks to the internet so because one seems knowledgeable is not enough.Did he do a physical, run you through test, ask for your medical history? Gynecologist and fertility specialist are usually very busy people (and will probably not follow you around)and very professional! Everything you said screams unprofessionalism! Please don't be desperate,God will surely answer you.I have a close friend that is TTC and its not easy but with God all things are possible,I advise you to go see a specialist just to be on the safe side, you refered to a mixture. Please stay blessed and safe.

@camrygmail,
28K is small fund, it's not because of the money that I opened up on this forum. I was even surprised that the miracle injection is that cheap.
My annoyance is why deceive pple that you type from ur head when in real fact you copied vabatim from another site. Read thru his posts, he sounded as though he was the one that had carried out all those treatments. I asked him specifically, and he said it's easy for him to type cos he has it all in his head.

Why deceive me and try to impress me that he is such an experienced fertility doctor. All, am asking him to do is to prove that he is really a fertility specialist, if I am convinced then he should apologise for indirectly deceiving me that he wrote those posts himself.

If he is looking for pple to carry out his research on then he should come out straight and say so. Not use us as trial and error patient!

@Oluite,
Thks for ur comment, I would always listen to my inner man.

@ Arlington
I prefer wen this forum was interactive and pple come in to give update on what they are going through and what medical assistance they are seeking. It was quite helpful seeing that they are not alone and there a number of couples in similar situation. I t was even more encouraging to read the success story of some members like Ejadamen, luvly, Stages, Arlington etc. It was even more fun getting a regular report of how they are progressing thru their pregnancies.

I find the new Dr, posts funny, it looks more like copy and paste and doesnt look sincere to me and again asking pple to get in touch personally with you on the yahoo messenger screams fraud. In our quest for knowledge and solution, let be mindful of the steps we'll take towards solutions. I know it is a almost to get across to the contact details details of the genuine pple who have truly TTC so that we can draw strength from them if need be.

In all, i pray that God will help us in dealing with pple who are always out to take advantage of others and for the said doctor, i think your time is up here

Sorry I am not based in Lagos and I don't have any recommendations.

Good Drs are hard to find even outside Nigeria. I had to do several office visits before I found a a good doctor here in the US. The problems I have with Doctors, here in the US, is that they will prescribe un-necessary procedures and blood work just so they can charge health insurance companies an arm and a leg.

I found my current Obgyn via a coworker (who is not TTC), before I went to visit the Dr. i read reviews online, looked for articles on the Dr. and even used ratemyMD.com to check out what others were saying about him. my first visit i went with my husband and a lot of questions. just so we both get a good feel of the Dr.

I wish you all the best and suggest you ask friends / family/ coworkers about their obgyns and just do an office visit to see who you gel with better.

Please people, i am in tears right now. I can not even concentrate in the office. My best friend's husband that has been TTC for about 2 yrs now just told me that she had a miscarriage. She didn't know she was pregnant and took anti-worm medicine and anti malaria. She has never been pregnant so she didn't know how it felt. She started bleeding and they rushed her to the hospital. That is when they said she had lost the baby (5 weeks).

She is inconsolable and i don't know what to say. They have been believing in God for a miracle and have refused to do any treatment as they say God's timing is best. Why this? Without even feeling the joy of knowing you are expecting.

Please guys, tell me what to tell her cos she is so depressed. Her husband has been urging me to call her but what do i say?  cry cry cry
