The reason he said he would stay back there...
I for one can't cope in naija for just electricity sake...
For that reason I cant come back even if na rented house I dey leave for abroad as long as m existing... Free that thing u dey talk..
Na my peace of mind matter..
If am safe n secure here.. Why shd I come back to Nigeria n be hearing up nepa, 1 million boys are coming, police kill innocent, army stab man to death, kidnappers demand ransom, bokoharam invades yola, Okada ban in Lagos, agberofight for bustop chairmanship, tanker catch fire.... Loss of life n properties

An unharmed black guy was shot few weeks ago while jogging along the road by a white father and his son that claim they thought he was a burglar tormenting their neighbourhood. There is risk everywhere. The risk of being attacked or shot dead is higher in the US than in Nigeria.

To be honest, I don’t mind being sold as a slave to the United States. We don’t have rule of law in Nigeria.

You really don't deserve to be a human because there is no dignity left in you. How could someone created a human say this.

And you just concluded I'm a guy.
Interesting...
Well,I may not have much here..But I'm doing better than many of my colleagues back home in Nigeria.
Relocating from Nigeria is the best thing I have ever done for myself and future .
Working as a doctor here will forever be more fulfilling then in Nigeria.

Whatever the case..
I will remain in UK..Even if road side beggars own private jets in una God forsaken Naija

LOL. sorry for the assumption, your gender wasn't specified on your profile.
so far as you are happy and you are achieving your dreams it is all good.
The fact is that different places favour different people. it worked for you, for some of them coming back, it may be that going there was their worst decision ever made, for some they went over there for vacation, holiday, excursion or flexing, and maybe enjoyed themselves even more than you have ever done over there. so u see, there are levels, you are there for survival and making ends meet, some are just there to pass time and spend money. It all boils down to money and wealth. If you are rich, you wont know the difference between naija and uk.

these guys are not dumb as you think.many of them have green cards, they will certainly return back after the pandemic. it was just a free ticket ride back home.
U are right. Many will go back. Some are students, some took it as chance to see their ppl as they are off work. some are using the opportunity to invest their money on project/house or profitable ventures. Some feel they are safer here for now going by the Covid figures.
Note: they all paid for their flight, as d condition govt gave them. Google it up if u doubt. Tnx

We should remember that some Nigerians travelled to various countries around the globe for business or other purposes before the outbreak of coro. They never intended to stay back in those countries because they have business and/or family ties in Nigeria that require attention. The returnees are not those who are habitual residents, but Nigerians who travelled and intended to return home, but were stranded abroad. Not every Nigerian wants to live abroad and no one hustling in America will like to come back.
There are people stranded in other states in Nigeria
But ive not heard the government saying anything about it...

And the risk of dying by suicide, hunger, depression, kidnap, rape, 1million boys, car accidents is way damn high in Nigeria...

Do you think that everybody that went there has a successful life? This is opportunity for them to returned because shame has prevented many of them to come back. Only medical professional that has sure life there, I'm telling you from my own experienced and if you know anyone among them they will explain better

...that is if the people he knows want to be truthful to him. A lot of Nigerians abroad like to oppress their people back home by making them feel that Yankee is heaven while their people in Nigeria are in some form of physical hell.
That's how someone was arguing with me on this forum that his brother in US told him that the government paid everyone $1200 each as palliative. I told him that was a lie...I watched it on CNN...the government gave the palliative to 80 million taxpayers in the country, whereas USA has a population of 320 million people. The guy said his brother could never lie to him. I let him bask in his ignorance

Jesus Christ, why would someone willingly coming back to Nigeria from Yankee, I will rather die there.

On a second thought I think some may want to come back due to the hostile environment created by Trump.

For instance, he has suspended all immigration process meaning no one can come here to marry you and even if you are there already you can't marry anyone to remain. You will just be stuck there forever except Trump is defeated in his second term bid.

But something tells me that most of these returnees already have papers but just ran to naija for now.

Did you really expect all the children under 18 to get stimulus too?

That was a pretty stupid comment.

Yes majority of adult aged Americans who earn under $150k got the stimulus.

Mine is already in my bank account thru direct deposit.

I have just read first hand account of the evacuees on the Nigeria world website, and they are not hungry immigrants to America. There was a orthopedic surgeon from Jigawa on training in the US another was a business man from Imo on a business trip to the US who got stranded. So calm down with all the stupid inferiority complex comments. Too many dumb kids on this forum it is really getting annoying.

.My brother, anybody that arguing with you concerning abroad matter just leave him/her jeje. What I know with number of countries have touched with my two legs through my profession,no countries has ever grown money on tree and being a black you will find it very difficult to brake into limelight unless you are medical professional or you have any talent to showcase or through dirty means(that is the reason you see highest number of Nigerian in their prison). These so called social amenities they are talking about citizen paid darely for it in such a way that you are taking salary with right hand and the salary goes to govt with left hand without left over. About 5 days ago one British guy was telling me that if you own apartment in UK,the numbers of windows the apartment has is one of the measure calculated to determine the owner tax on that building but their brothers will not enlight them on this. My brother, I can't say much just leave them with their ignorance.

With a death of about 1500 in a day in US, it must have been a very tough decision for them.

The irony is that even with the current situation of things in the US, some people wouldn't even blink twice before jumping on the next available flight should they have the opportunity.
