They are not wrong to ask about it to be honest. We have to come to the reality that this world as changed and this pandemic is not going to make it better. They are trying to know the level of the lady, I might not ask for your money but I need assurance that if things go south, you can step in until the man can solve the problem. Trust me, that can't be achieved with a wife that has a peanut income. It's very important to know the net financial worth of your intending family.

Now back to your points, pregnancy and the likes is really not the bone of contention here. Moreover, I never said the wife is paying any bill. However, as a logical person you should always factor in when things go south or your made an investment that is taking a long time to pick up, what will be the back up plan? what better back up plan can you get other than your better half?

For the single father aspect, I really don't understand the correlation but anyways, for you not to be a single father includes you choosing the right wife, which is why you need to know your net worth among other things.

However, if the single father you are talking about is in case the wife dies, isn't that more of a real for the couple's worth to be known in case the husband dies too?
