I'm pretty certain this particular jaguar shares more parts with a ford than a range rover.

The Stype R is a gem. I was crazy about one in 2018...2006 MY with the 4.2l supercharged, 400hp. That thing sounds awesome, one of the most beautiful cars in my opinion.
I think the best way to love that car is have a seat behind the wheel, close the door(whilst appreciating the chunkiness and the suction-like sound when closed), turn on the engine and listen to the exhaust sound, the muffled V8 exhaust rumble- this I think betters what ever reviews you might have online.
Drive it and as you chug down the road, something must remind you that you are in a different class of vehicle.

Think carefully and get back to me. I don't quite think they're bad cars, don't get me wrong. They supposedly drive excellently, and the ones I've been in have had pretty solid interiors for their time, and great ride quality.

But all of that doesn't matter if at the end of the day, your car leaves you stuck somewhere--or carrying out a simple fix requires considerably more work than a similar car.

No sane man will tell you that British cars aren't good drivers car, but British engineering is even worse than German engineering, and those cars are filled with complicated mechanical and electrical designs. Una dey shout Nissan Nissan for here, but I go dey laugh. There are much worse cars in terms of dumb electromechanical designs.

You said the truth... My brother owns a Jaguar XFS V8... It'd been a year... The car is strong.. Luxurious.... I think they have the best Interior design among other cars...but the parts are pricey

U see the gear knob? that's where the Autobiography and the Evougue got thiers from Jag system when the became JLR

you are naming British cars as bad Engineering, you seem to forget the Rolls Roys, Austin martins and the Bentleys of this world are all British Engineering!

Except that Bentley is now VAG, and Rolls-Royce is now BMW. Apart from the Mulsanne and Phantom which are on bespoke platforms, I believe other cars from those companies use modified existing VAG and BMW platforms.

Also, you can't compare a Rolls-Royce to a regular car. No one is putting 100k miles on a Rolls-Royce. No one is taking a Rolls-Royce to a random mechanic.

Even then Astons are hardly the beacons of reliability, even compared to other exotic cars.

None is built on any car's platform, from the Rolls Roys to Bently to Austin martin or Ford or Vauxhall or jaguar, the list goes on!

The Wraith is built on the 7-series platform.
The Bentley Bentayga is built on the Audi Q8's platform.
The Bentley Continental GT is built on the Porsche Panamera's platform.

These cars are German now, sir.

McLaren is the only company I'd say is completely British at the moment. Even Aston has a very close relationship with Mercedes.

You get time. In my very first post on this thread, I admitted that I'd absolutely love to own a Jaguar. But that man up there lacks all cognizance of the concept of nuance.

I always thought it was common knowledge that the jaguar S Type shared parts with ford, guess I was wrong.
