Hey guys, stumbled upon this thread on google.
Apparently I've missed a lot.

Anyone here registered for Hash analytics internship?!!. I just did and would like to know the chances of me finishing and understanding the course content within the 1 week left to the internship.
I registered, paid for the materials but unfortunately I didn't attend d classes because I got to know that my area of interest is not in the program currently,I was attached to UI/UX group, when I actually wanted to learn data analysis.u can private chat me on 0.8.1.6.8.3.4.0.1.9.2,do not quote me,I will delete soon.

JOURNEY TO DATA SCIENCE

Best website I visited that changed me was FREETUTORIALS.US...
Damn! I could get any course paid for free.
All I need was to get data..
I started doing free night bundle from airtel just to Download these videos. Had 4 different SIM cards for this deadly attack to download free paid videos. Had to learn pandas from head to toe...Migrated to machine learning, then deep learning...... all these while my knowledge on excel was 2%.... it was a pure embarrassment that as an aspiring data scientist I don't know excel that much...That's how I downloaded another video on excel..did the excel for a month including advanced features..

please recommend a tutorial for Ms word , excel and PowerPoint and we're I can get it

What do you want to do with Ms word?

Is it that newbies on the thread don't read old posts before commenting? The pages are under 50 you can easily go through it in a day. There are tons and tons of resources that have been recommended already.

Does anyone please know how the random walk function works. It's been to hard to understand from this Datacamp example

Random walks is basically a random simulation of random variables to produce an output randomly. From my example, the nsteps is the number of times the walk is simulated, that is 1000 times, which means its gonna produce 1000 outputs(walks).
The draws is what I want to output in 1000 times. From my example, the random.randnint(0,2, size=nsteps) means pick a number between 0 & 2, 1000 times.
The 'steps' variable is the where the draws happen, the draws produces 2 outputs, 0 & 1, 1000 times.
np.where(condition, True, False) means if the draw produces 1 (draws >0), return 1, else -1.
This is stored in the 'walks' variable which is a cumulative sum of all the steps in the draws. \

The first pic is the cumulative sum of the first 100 draws while the second pic is a graph of the first 100 draws.

Looking at the first pic, notice how they either increase or decrease by 1 or -1 respectively.
so basically, the whole thing picks 1 or -1 simultaneously and the size is the number of steps, that means, pick 1 or -1 randomly 1000 times. The output could be anything but this is a basic example.

I heard those people are not legit, you pay and you get the course materials, some of which you can get for free on udemy sef and the after the first stage, nothing happens. people that did it said there's no provision for the second stage. Seems the structure is faulty. You can confirm sha

Timeline series below showed Death rate increased dramatically from the 12th of March in Italy with a relatively gentle upward curve.
However in U.S., it increased from 18th March at a very sharp upward curve showing that as time progresses, U. S. would overtake Italy in number of COVID-19 deaths.

With time, U. S. would possibly overtake Italy in number of deaths. Hoping a cure is found soon for all of us.

Modified: It's even on front page. They did so today. May we overcome this. CASES please. Not Death oh. Num of CONFIRMED CASES. Erroneously used Death instead of Cases while working with the data.

good day, please how did you go about arranging the dates in the pivot table? I have never come across a dataset with dates set horizontally, most of the ones I have tackled are all arranged vertically. So it's very easy for me to handle them by fitting them into rows. Here the dates are arranged in columns, almost 40 columns, and that is looking really impossible to fit into my laptop screen and pivot table. Please how did you go about it? The first thing I did was remove blank rows, searched for duplicates after that, tried creating the pivot table. But the dates were messing me up. Please Note! I am using excel too

Pls guys, pls I was trying to import data file with 7million rows from SQL server into the data model, but the thing kept loading and reloading as Soon as subscription is exhausted, and I will have to refresh and start from the beginning to load the data after subscribing again

From what I learnt, columnar Database compresses big files, but the case is different here cos I have used up to 5 gig of internet data yet to no avail.

My question now is,must I have like 10 gig sub before I can import big files?

See screenshot...

The f transaction file has loaded like 3 million plus rows before it stopped..

Pls I await ur responses

If possible try to run your analysis using a cloud service like GCP or AWS

Very encouraging...

By the way,is solid knowledge on SQL, tableau and excel sufficient enough for one to get a (remote/freelance) job?

I'm at this stage too.. Currently I just scour freelance sites, register with them and see what sort of jobs available that matches your skills to an extent.. Customise your profile to fit those jobs and apply for them.. I'm registered only on upwork tho and so far no jobs yet but mainly because I am not that serious. I hope this helps

I don't know if I fully understand your question but I hope this helps.

I didn't use a pivot table. I simply cleaned the data from 1st pic then decided I wanted to compare cases in Italy and US so I created a cleaner data (pic2) containing only US and Italy from all the other countries in pic 1.To get that graph, I simply highlighted the new data set and selected a graph from "recommended charts".

I mostly use pivots when I want to select maybe "Top Ten Salesmen" from a hundred sales men then add slicers to select by region,by product or any other category. I hope this helped. Apologies for the unclear pics. I was in a rush.
