My dad almost ruined my life. Damaged my self esteem and turned me to a chronic liar.
And sometimes my mom will cry and cry due to all the flogging and pain I go through after the flogging.
Though I was a very stubborn child growing up but I still feel I don't deserve all that maltreatments from him.
But when I think about what I have become today, I forgive him cuz he never allowed me and my siblings lack anything especially when it is related to school.
He was a teacher and he believed that back in those days, teacher's children should carry themselves in a say that's different from all other kids.
Though I was an extremely good footballer, she didn't let me play football with other kids in the street.
I still find it hard to forgive him for the fact that he actually bought a new razor blade and slice my back all through just because I spend the money a visitor gave me without letting him know. It got out of hand cuz I didn't stay stick when he wanted to do it and he ended up leaving huge permanent scars on my back.

When I got a good job and I started making good money, I didn't send any money to him for 2 years. But my mom... Oh God bless her, she kept apologizing on his behalf.

Why you might not see the reason for your birth now or how special you are, I want/need you to know that you were born to brighten up someone's life someday. It may not be your wife, but it could be your child who may probably have issues with self esteem and you're the only one he'll look up to.

One day, surely, you'll come to understand why you're here and you'll be glad you were born.
