Nigerians have taken to Facebook to complain bitterly about the delayed release of the latest Redmi phone which was announced earlier this month and was scheduled to be released in mid-May.

Many of the aggrieved soon-to-be customers said they had sold off their previous phones and could not wait to lay their hands on this phone.

It is amazing how much Xiaomi has achieved in so short a time since entering the Nigerian market with zero commercial advertising. The company has a strict policy of letting their products do the talking for them as well as educating their customers.

This paints a starkly different picture to what many naysayers have claimed that their customers are "only on Nairaland".

Around 8:30pm. A friend called me asking abt the phone. His RN7 is now too old & outdated for his liking.

Personally just from the specs of the phone. Am not a fan. I prefer something more compact with flagship specs (i miss my mi 9se)

Me am just waiting for Redmi note (X)10 and that's the last phone I'll use. To be honest my Redmi note 7 is serving me well, with the Pixel Experience ROM. it's blazing fast, better than MIUI by far at least when it comes to speed and optimisation.

Yeah. It is due to delay in production due to the COVID-19 pandemic. All major OEMs have resumed manufacturing in India, so we should have the device in Nigeria before May ending.

I've been awaiting the device since March.
