5m. let's him go into frozen food in wholesale price, direct from apapa wharf to Warehouse cold room

100k job won't solve anything

What if he is residing in far South South or South East

This is the point where he has to choose between Job security and being an entrepreneur.

With 5Million naira, a savvy entrepreneur could find his way to becoming a multi millionaire in the next decade through commodity trading.

If your friend has interest to become a business person, tell him to go for the 5m but if he doesn't have flair for business, then sticking to the 100k job is an ideal option to choose.

My story: My boss settled me with 1.5m Naira for serving him for seven years, 2.5 years after my settlement, I have built my own house in the village, seeing three of my younger siblings through different Universities, enrolled myself in a distance learning program (NOUN), now own three different business outlets with investment in other fellow savvy entrepreneur's businesses, reaping monthly dividends on my investments.

There's no better way to spin around money faster than getting into trading business. TB, FX, mutual fund etc...can't offer that. Again, I repeat; if he has interest in business, advise him to go for the 5m. That may be the beat choice he will ever make all his life considering this offer on the table.

What type of trading businesses

it means no difference as the amount you spent to lift your goods to where you're will determine your sales price?

plss advise him to collect the #5m . If he has a job, let him resign. With 5 million, there are a lot of things he can import from China and make a whole lots of cash eg light bulb.
Secondly; he can start a company of giving loans to while collar job men with collateral and have his interest.
Thirdly, he can open several POS shops in good locations. (Good locations will not be a problem because of his money, he can outpay an existing renter and collect his/her shop)
I can go on and on

Please go on

Any sort of profitable business, so long as the business has customer for your products. There's actually not bad business. There's only bad people in good businesses.

In that case I will go on, sorry I am just seeing your mention now.

You can start a gas filling station in a moderate shop, gas filling pays more than normal fuel station because people have more cylinders than cars

You can also open a shop where you will be selling baby things/items. People give birth every day. Do well to do the business in a very good location. Doing it close to a general hospital/ good private hospital is a plus.

If you are the type of guy that doesn't want to stress yourself but just want to make money with your investment,

You can comfortably invest into tricycle, place it on higher purchase and be making your money while sleeping at home. With your money you can get at least 10 tricycle. Now imagine collecting 10k(the least as most people collect 15k) per week for 5years. Every week u make #100k, every month #400k, every year u make 4.8m. Multiply it by 5years, u make #24million

You can also buy like 2-3 good cars and place dem in an official state government park. Per car (Siena) they pay around #140 -#200k per month. Damages and accident is on their care not yours

You can also build a hostel close to a school (university/polytechnic) and place students there on rent.

You ought to have gotten several options from all the business opportunities I have mentioned; do well to hire a P.A, to oversee things, advise you, make surveys and follow up on expenditures. It will help you if you don't have a strong/sound mind for investment (not everyone does wink).

Thanks so much for your response. For the case of Keke, I have long thought of it. However, I have been skeptical considering other people's experiences as they relate to lack of trust on the part of the drivers. The price of new TVS Keke is about N670k and goes for N1.2m on hire purchased with weekly remittances of N20k. To that effect, N5m can comfortably buy seven of it fpr seven promising young men. But some of the drivers can raised one's BP.

Ha! That might even give them the opportunity to misbehave more. That you can't hold their guarantors since he's a police officer.

Just say you want it broken down to you but as for the job, it's an in-laws business so I have had my office before I started the business. It's an easy business. I live in a busy area so what I did was to get a shop that was closer to my house, I got a double door chest freezer of about 500ltrs and another one of 319ltrs, I also got a generator for steady power because we hardly have constant power in the area which was my number one strength. What do I do? I buy an average of 150 bags of water everyday and resell when chilled at a difference of #50 and at times, I buy and sell more than 150 bags in a day. I also sell chilled drinks in cans and I make close to 3k in drinks every day. The water sells faster because these guys hawking on the road come to buy from me and resell plus the ones I sell to people who come to buy from me directly though their own price at which I sell is a bit higher than what I sell to the hawkers. Weekends always give mad sales because I get bookings from people who are doing events. Fuel consumption on the average a day is 1,500. The business is 4 months old and the dry season also pushed me into doing it. Now, do the math and tell me why I won't make an average of 200k a month.

Not all business require special entrepreneurial skill. The only skill you'll need is being able to identify your market and I clearly did that before I started off.
Please can deep freezer do this business?

which type of business will you advice him to go,that will easily return the cash, just ur advice.

Depends on how good your patience is. I'll advice you to steer from any post or success story that offers quick wealth. It is usually a loser trying to trick a sucker into giving up his hard-earned money.

Now back to my advice, you need to invest your money, don't you? What you need is a poultry farm. Breed broilers; they take 4 weeks to mature. The broiler meat does not have season. They sell like craze when I was back home. It does not cost more than 70 naira to buy a chick (I don't know much they sell for now). If you are patient enough, you will be amply rewarded. Layers are even better; however, they take a long time- about 6 months to start laying. If you have 50, 3 will probably die. Raise 47 and you will get at least 47 eggs per day when they are ready. That's about 1000 naira or so every day.

Remember, raising these do not require your attention 24/7. Chickens can take care of themselves as long as you provide the conditions of a healthy living.

Need money real quickly? Get into Okporoko or Crayfish. Start with a bale. Go into market and make inquiries of retail prices. Set up a table, divide into portions and start selling. If you feel like it is too local, I did it too. When I was 13 and I was sent on two months school holiday to my maternal grandparents' in Aba, I hawked those. I convinced my grandmother to buy me a bale which i hawked in a market called Ahia Ohuru (I don't know if it is still called that name) and I paid her back the money. The angelic woman never took a penny from my profits. My middle class parents or maternal grandfather never knew. Made 40K before returning back to onitsha at the end of my holiday. It was a secret my grandma and me knew only. She carried it to her grave in 2016. Now, you know too.

Hone your patience. Step out of your comfort zone. Watch money trickled in slowly if you have a solid plan.

Yes. I use deep freezers for chilling water and drinks but for ice, you'll need to construct a freezer more like a cold room standard using Air conditioning fan for better efficiency.

That's very sad! I'm also considering similar plans but I have been having this fear of mismanagement as well. Sometimes I wonder if it's a curse for some Nigerians not to be trustworthy with money and/or business. It's even worse once they know that you are in the abroad.
Have you contacted your lawyer to follow up? I believe paperwork would have been completed before you left. Or who is managing the fleet on your behalf?
Sorry, but I'm just looking for a way to offer solution - that investment is so huge to watch go into shambles

My dear, let's assume you're my sworn enemy, and you and I have never been on talking terms for decades, if I hear you want to go into hire purchase business in Nigeria, the type I did, I would come straight to you and begged you for the last time. I have some many things to say, not here.

Let's talk off line. Send me an invite through náíràland. You know how they do it now.
