To be frank, I have been using amole screen for long without having any changes in my vision but now just less than six months of using lcd on redmi note 8, I'm facing blur vision.

Like someone suggested go get your eyes checked. It's probably due to extended use of your phone daily especially during this lockdown period.

Do you observe breaks as you use your phone?

I had an issue quite similar to yours on the same device. Mine is my wall paper changing back to the default after some time. The issue persisted even after updating.

I decided to download a new theme from the app, used my desired fonts and a wallpaper from my gallery and it has not reverted ever since

Try to restart your phone immediately after changing to your desired theme/wallpaper/screensaver. I had the same problem when I newly updated too.

This post just dey vex me the more now that I just read that it has HD+ on an almost 7" device and a micro USB port. The expensive price tag doesn't make it an alternative.

Well, it's good your device is satisfying you. Mine isn't. I'll list the reasons below.

1. My phone hangs sometimes.

2. My phone doesn't predict simple words when I'm typing. I could spell genuine as geniune and my phone will not suggest the correct word

8. When I'm trying to mark a text, sometimes my phone will cut it and insert the last thing I was typing.

Delete gcam before gcam deletes you. It's a third-party app you installed. So if it's hanging, delete it.

Update your phone and reboot several times

Gcam is not the ROM default can, it was ported. So, if you experience crashes it might be peculiar to the ROM/phone you're using. Try other recommended build.

Post your battery details (screen on time), to see the likelihood of what drains your battery.

32g.......nothing inside the phone, what do you expect brah?.. I have an iPad of 32g with just few apps, music and docs, if I have a video file on it, I delete after watching it. If you need a phone as primary storage devoce, get 128gb ROM as minimum. But currently you can make do with MC or OTG flash drive.

Since we are discussing about screen panel.. Lemme ask, between an amoled screen with hd+ and lcd with fhd+ which will you pick?

Personally I will pick the LCD with the higher resolution, screen burn in in Amoled happens mostly when an image is left on the same spot for a long period of time on full brightness, phones with always on displays usually have this issue, however LCD also suffer from bleeding and dead pixels which will make a portion of the screen become brighter than the rest Amoled has advantage when it comes to battery saving as individual pixels are powered and can be shot off by employing a black wall paper or using dark mode, this is not possible with LCD as all pixels are powered by a backlight
