My point is if really she was adopted by the psycho,then it ridicules the whole situation.she was with not only one but two top security personnel. Which I can say are intelligent considering how the both of them have been handling the case at hand.how could they be so careless to let melody be alone knowing how dangerous that action could be.the fact that she complained to the captain while shopping that ezenwa was very close should be a signal that she mustn't be left alone. The puncturing of his tyres was another glaring case that he was closer than they thought.
Another observation that baffled me is the scene at the hospital. A hospital that is big enough to have both male and female private wards should at list have a section where people are welcomed or a receptionist.the fact that you made her to stay back in the car made it too obvious that there is danger and for me that is very predictable.
My deduction from the story is that the character ezenwa is intelligent. If not how has he been able to conceal the series of killings.his ability to outsmart his brother and confined him to a mental asylum points to his intelligence. So he can disguise as a doctor,nurse,patient or even patients relative's to get to melody in the reception.

I did and I must tell you that is not enough reason to live her out there by herself. We are talking about a murderer coming after her.her opinion is not needed at that point. Its the duty of the security to make sure she is save.most celebrities and politicians don't like going out with security but the state still insists on protecting them regardless of their opinion. For the fact that Joel has feelings for her is even the main reason he never should have left her alone.

I've also noticed most nairalanders tends to read love stories and they love this motion of "Happily ever after" , this is why I love silver1996 stories, every character in his stories is dispensible, he kills both major and minor characters, funny enough he can save a character from beginning of the story only to kill it at the end, you'll just be wasting your time if you're expecting a happily ever after in his stories.

Anyhoo, Damselposh, your story rocks, infact I love it.

These officers look like officers from the force of one country I know... Aye mi ooo, O my Melody don't die oh nd my Joel go show e Macho power. The stalker days are nearly over

Joel shouldn't have left Melody all alone. After all, his attention is not really needed in the ward.

He made an avoidable mistake.

CHAPTER TWENTY SIX



Melody sighed in relief as she emptied her bladder. She cleaned herself up, and brought down the helm of her gown, she went to the small mirror hanging on the wall and repacked her hair as she stepped out of the toilet. She passed through the reception and when she stepped outside, she was surprised to see Joel and the detective, she hastened her steps and went to meet them. "They must be looking for me and i didn't even go with my phone" she said scratching her elbow. She got to where they stood and tapped Joel on his back.



"Are you looking for me?" she asked as Joel turned around and enveloped her in a hug, his cologne wafted through her nostrils making her feel comfortable and safe.


"Where did you go to?, i thought the killer abducted you and i was so scared" He said as he crushed her body with his.



"What?, the killer won't be that stupid to attack when am with you two, and moreover, i can defend myself, i have a single bone ooo, am strong kakaraka" Melody said with a chuckle flexing her muscle. Joel disengaged from the hug and eyed her.


"The killer is not someone you can fight against, madam single bone" he hissed.


"Listen to me young lady, what are phones made for? you carry them around anywhere you go to, you really gave us a scare" the detective said rolling his eyes.



"Well, i needed to ease myself, so i asked around for the toilet and i didn't intentionally leave my phone behind, i forgot to go with it" Melody said with a shrug.


"Captain, i need to go back inside to meet the old man, you can wait for me here with her, i still have more informations to gather" the detective said walking back to the building.


"Okay" Joel said with a nod of the head, he turned to stare at Melody and wondered if she knew how dangerous the killer was.


"Why are you staring at me like i stole your chocolate?" she asked with a chuckle.


"Why are you so carefree? you are not taking your safety serious, you are just too stubborn, what if the killer had gotten to you? there are some things you don't joke with, i told you to wait for us at the lobby but you were too stubborn to listen to me, are you this naturally stubborn or you just want to stress my life out?" he lashed out at her.


"I am sorry, i just didn't think the killer would do anything stupid today, i am sorry" she said looking down at her feet sadly, she had never seen him that angry before.



"Listen to me Mels", he said taking her hands in his. "i have your interest at heart, i want to protect you but i also need your co-operation, don't make my work any harder for me please. do you even know how i felt few minutes ago? i thought i had lost you, i thought i was never going to see you again, i thought i was never going to get the chance to tell you how much you have made my heart flutter each time you smile, i was just scared Melody, i nearly ran mad" He added softly caressing her palm. Melody's heart beat loudly, she still kept her face down and wondered if he meant the things he actually said.



"I am sorry, i thought staying back here at the car was the best thing to do" she replied but never looked up to stare at him.



"Look at me" Joel commanded softly. She shook her head in a negative reply and looked away towards the gate.


"Look at me Melody, please, i want you to look at me" Joel pleaded.



"I don't want to look at you" She replied in squeaky manner. She feared she would let her emotions get to her and make her do what she might regret.


"Ever since the first time i saw you at that dump site, the thought of you never left my mind, and with each moment that passed by? my heart yearned daily for your presence, it was as if you were the owner of my heart and whenever we are together, my heart beats" Joel said finally with a sigh.



"Wait, you said dump site? i thought the first time you saw me was at the funeral?" she asked lifting her gaze to meet his.



"No Mels, the first time i saw you was back around your neighborhood, you were at a dump site, you caught my attention with your beauty and i wondered what a beautiful girl like you was doing there then." Joel explained going to lean on his car.


"Well i guess that was one of the days when i was working for that Edo woman, she was the only one that tells me to trash her waste bin, the reason i hated working for her" She hissed leaning on the car too.



"Who was the guy you were talking to earlier?, your admirer?" Joel asked turning sideways to look at her.



"Admirer ko? just one happy fellow whom his wife gave birth to triplets, he felt like sharing the news with me" Melody replied but then shouted "How did you know i talked to a guy" her brows raised.


"The gate man told me" Joel shrugged. Just then, the detective came out with the young man identified as Udoka, they shook hands with each other and Joel entered the car with the detective and Melody as they drove home.
