Religion could be a means to an end. Religion has brought the best out of humans and it has also brought the worst out of them. It is wrong, unfair and utterly Islamophobic to say terrorism thrives in Islam. You're right when you say many Muslims read and don't study the Qur'an. I agree with you on that. But isnt that the same for almost any human endeavor? There are people who are politicians by name but have never made a political decision their life. There are people who have children but are unfit to be called parents. There are people who are Christians by name and birth but have zero knowledge of what the Bible teaches.

The Arabs cum Muslims might be using violence as a tool to fight the imperial West over perceived angers based on clash of civilizations. Some might be right and in some cases wrongfully misplaced.

The truth is we are all tools in the hands of some superior powers.

What we see today is power struggle between conflicting civilizations. The west is trying to take away the fighting strength of the Muslim world so it could control their wealth and politics while still ensuring their should never be another Mohammed. A unifying figure in the Muslim world.

People like Shekau are just mere pawn in the power equation. The Muslim terror groups resorts to terrorism violence against the west just like a militia group will use guerrilla tactics against a stronger organized force.

It's more than what we are seeing.

Every Arab like other Muslims want to live their lives peacefully but the powers that be knows how to jolt them out of their inertia. But, one thing is certain a Muslim is very dangerous when roused from his state of dormancy.

Jesus did not teach people that he was God

The Bible says that God is greater than Jesus

Jesus can not be God if God is greater than him. The Christian belief that the Father and son are equal is in direct contrast to the clear words from Jesus.

Jesus never instructed his disciples to worship him

‘In that day, you shall ask me nothing. Whatsoever you ask of the Father in my name.’ (John 16:23)

‘The hour cometh and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth; for the Father seeketh such to worship him.’ (John 4:23)

If Jesus was God, he would have sought worship for himself

Since he didn’t, instead he sought worship for God in the heavens, therefore, he was not God.

Here Jesus pray to who, God to save him from death, if Jesus was God, who was he praying to.

According to the Quran his prayer was answered and he was never cruxified.

4:157 - 158, Qur'an

And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but [another] was made to resemble him to them. And indeed, those who differ over it are in doubt about it.
