The message passed was that no excuse not to Honor, worship or pray to Almighty Allah regardless of the situation (famine, drought).

so cos the text didn't mention they should squat or pull up their inner garments after excreting does not mean its not common sense to do so. So cos they covered up their excrement does not mean they did not clean up afterwards.
