The bolded is wrong. Your transcript is the number one determinant in admission. Test scores, LOP and recommendation letters are just supporting element to boost your admission eligibility index.

Read the red circle on the attached image

For the last two years of undergraduate, you are right. Majority of schools use this criteria

All these depend on the school in question, that was why I said “sometimes”. And sometimes, one might be worried about his/her CGPA; seeing it as low without knowing that he or she actually did well during the last 2years, which is considered by many schools in the US.

First use the free wes evaluation to evaluate your transcript to 4.0 using this link https://applications.wes.org/igpa-calculator/igpa.asp
and tell us your new GPA on 4.0 grade, then we can advice based on the new information.

I'm 98% certain you can get admission to a good ranked public schools if your new cgpa is above 2.0/4.0

Also share your profile like your proposed masters program and your test scores if you have any.

I'm willing to guide you through, Looking forward to your reply on this thread

I TRIED IT, IT SAYS INVALID GRADE. MOST OF THE PUPLIC SCHOOLS I CHECKED HAVE A CGPA REQUIREMET OF AT LEAST 2.5/4. IT ONLY FEW PRE MASTERS PROGRAM THAT ACCEPTS 2.O.
PLEASE SHARE THE NAME OF PUBLIC SCHOOL YOU KNOW

I DO NOT HAVE ANY TEST SCORE

MSC MANAGEMENT OR RELATED COURSE

Hello house, I am desperately in need of help! I got a full tuition waiver and a graduate assistantship with stipends of a little over 1000 dollars per month - which I believe is enough for my cost of living for a month. However, I still have a deficit of a little over 8000 dollars. I have been unable to request for an I-20 because of my inability to provide a sponsor. I humbly request the house to assist me with one, also I don't mind paying for a statement of account. Thank you. embarassed

I am curious at to what will make upto that deficit of $8k after full tuition waiver AND a stipend of the amount you mentioned.

Most schools' stipend will enable u get by, accomodation and upkeep, an okay lifestyle.. nothing flamboyant.

Apart from Health Insurance, which u'd have to pay a part lots even with assistanship/tuition waiver and some fees that do not amount to nowhere near $8k... Nothing else.

U ddnt mention the location of the Uni.. maybe the cost of living is sky high... But even at that... Those are factored into the amount given as stipends..

So again.. U may need to go look closely at wat that makes up the deficit.

Just my 2cents.

Your naivety or desperation is what has made visa interviews become a herculean task that requires fasting and prayer in order to surmount. I understand that you desperately need a sponsor (I've been there before) but putting it out here that you don't mind paying to get what you want to get will create a notion that what you want to get (which I don't want to mention) can be bought. Don't forget that VOs read this thread. Kindly retract/edit your statement. Thanks.

The school is located in Texas. I was also given a health insurance waiver. I was given an estimated cost of living of over 20,000 dollars, the reason for the deficit. I wonder why it is that high.

Okay I see..

Texas is reasonable..

Usually though, for most schools, with a Tuition waiver Nd a Full time assistanship, you should be fine..

Unfortunately one has to show documentary evidence of what their 'expense' sheet shows.. b4 I-20 issuance.

Also remember, u'll have to show AND prove same for visa.

Another question I have for you.

Is it a full assistanship or a 50% assistanship??

Okay..good then.

You are in a good position still..

Now its upto you to make up the rest.

Good luck...

It is a full assistantship.

Talk to family members, friend's parents, uncle, cousins, open up to people in the REAL world around you, those that might actually help.

Truth is, you won't get practical advice on here as regards to showing proof of fund. Also, don't be overly desperate to the extent of going for your interview with a fake SOA, it will hurt you badly.

It used to be easy when uncles can just provide a letter with their account statement, stating their willingness to support you if there is a need to, but with EFCC and FIRS on the lookout, nobody keep their money in banks anymore.

The take-home point here is to open up to people around you, and carefully establish your case; help often comes. Don't be overly secretive about your move; to people around you.

PS: Make sure you actually have some money too. I mean maybe not $8000+ but make sure you're not coming to America banking solely on Assistantship income. It's not as easy as it sounds; in reality.

San Francisco state University and all 23 campuses of California state University just announced that fall semester will be online. No in person class till at least 2021.

let's keep watching

For those that care about reality and facts

Some schools are making plans to start in person fall semester as early as first second week of August and go back online towards Thanksgiving. Will this affect incoming international student visa chances?

Meanwhile US and Canada reached another agreement to keep their borders closed to each other for another 30 days.

Chill, chill and plan.

Thank you once again for the update. However, as someone in position of extreme knowledge, I think you should be more explicit with your advice. It would really go a long way for both the 'realistic' and 'unrealistic' individuals on this thread. Like what exactly do you want people to do? Stop applying for admission? Stop applying for funding? Stop requesting for email version of I-20? Stop asking questions on this page? Pay or dont pay for SEVIS? Defer admissions? Pay and request for online classes? Apply to Nigerian schools instead?P.S: Canada are already upfront about the fall classes situation. Hopefuls already know they would have to make do with virtual classes come fall semester.

My God grin grin grin

It is a full assistantship.

From what i know, you don't need statement of account for a full assistanship at the embassy. As long as it's indicated on your I20.

I think the deficit of $8000 is actually from his living expenses. He should check well, I think his tuition was taken care of with probably his health insurance but his living expenses may be where the deficit is coming from. Let him go through his I-20 he must definitely see where the $8000 come from.

I have edited. I know I went really far, but I am running out of options. I have been requested to provide this over a month now, but have been unable to.

Send me a PM. Let's see how we can get this resolved.

Am not in a position to tell people what to do. All I can do is tell situation on ground, whatever anyone do with such news is up to them.

And please for Pete sake, stop taking my posts personally. This is an online forum, I have a right to my opinion as long as it's not misleading.

Hello
please how long does it take to get admission decision from GSU
solihp:

It depends on if someone declines their offer, how fast they decline it and what number you are on the wait list.

When I was waiting for admission in my school last year, the graduate director told me I was on the wait list and I got my acceptance letter the 3rd day.

Just keep in touch and let them know you're very interested

I also got admitted into construction management at bowling Green for fall 2020 but I was told funding isn't available at the moment
Please what do you advise I do
solihp:

Hi, just keep sending them email from time to time that you're interested in funding. I applied to Bowling Green too but a different department last year. I got admitted in February but didn't get funding until June or so. So keep hoping and sending email
