Better opportunity is relative egbon, Lagos is the only opportunity here... because it's every Nigerians birthright. WE ALL INVESTED in whatever capacity to its cosmopolitan outlook. All the sea ports and Federal investments are situated in Lagos, all the consulates and embassies are there, there's no single sea port anywhere in the East or at least a functioning one in the South South. So when you talk of opportunities, take those few factors into context, the only privilege you enjoy is the Lagos factor, take Lagos away and the rest of the South wastee is a glorified village only attractive on fake IGR paper statistics. Igbos don't troop en masse to other parts of the SW, the highest concentration of Igbo immigration in the SW is Lagos and for obvious reasons.

Stop over hyping yourselves, you don't feed or cloth the Igbos, chances are its the other way round. Has any Igbo man come to beg you for anything to survive in Lagos? I doubt it, until we start begging our accommodators for our necessities, then maybe your noise can be taken seriously.
We agree with you that it's only Lagos that's developed, go back to your potopoto region. Tell us your achievements in few years time compared to Lagos.
Igbo are known to drug business in the world, they disgrace this nation internationally. They spoilt Qatar, Lebanon et al with their drug business. Alot of crimes are traced to yeebos that's why they have a criminal, IndecentStar albino as their leader.
Osu, don't start it.

If we could ask questions as regards the UNPO registration, I'm sure the yoruba and ibo delegates/enforcers must have shared information for proper consultations and processes before the successful listing. Yet one simpleton is here talking nonsense.

THE MILITARY FROM GOWON CREATED THIS MESS THAT NIGERIA IS IN TILL DATE.

GOWON CREATED 19 CONSTITUTIONAL STATES WITH SPHERE OF RESPONSIBILITIES BUT WITHOUT AUTHORITIES TO SUCCEED.. RIGIDLY MILITARY COMMAND AND CONTROL STRUCTURES.

AND WHEN THE TYPES OF ABACHA AND BUHARI ENTERED, WHO KNOW NO MANAGEMENT OTHER THAN COMMAND AND CONTROL MARSHALL LAW, THE MESS CONTINUES.

OBJ HAS REPENTED.. HE HAS DEBUNKED RIFA-RUGA ISLAMISATION FULANISATION AND ANARCHY AND HAS RECOMMENDED FULL AUTONOMY OF POLICING RESOURCING AND ELECTIONEERING SYSTEMS FOR OUR 36 CONSTITUTIONAL STATES IMMEDIATELY.

How many of your leaders have identified or come out publicly to support Biafra?
NON OF THE SE AND SS GOVERNORS.

Wole Soyinka was a major advocate of your Biafra cause when the Biafra cause was still alive in those days.

His agitation for Biafra helped make the cause more popular in the international community.

He was even jailed by the Nigeria Government for Biafra cause.

So, yes it had to take a Yoruba intelligentsia to be the intellectual-lead of the only known Igbo agitation. grin
^^NO... If you read Soyinka's book: 'The Man Died' (which I've read over 5 times since the 1980s, and personally have a copy), he clearly stated that he was not in support of the Civil War, and was only trying to mediate so as to prevent war! He was detained by Gowon for visiting the rebel leader without an FG authorization and not because he supported the illegally created 'biafra'... Hope this helps.

And who said he supported any war?

Again, he supported Biafra.

Spot the difference and jog along!

@TAO11... My point simply is that Soyinka had SUPPORT and sympathy for the Ibos because of the suffering some Ibos went through in the series of Northern Nigeria's 1965 riots... but he was clearly NOT in SUPPORT of any secession or a biafra as he stated in his prison memoirs book: THE MAN DIED. NOTE: SECESSION=BIAFRA

Stop lying in social media.Soyinka agitation for Biafra did not make the Biafran cause more popular in the international community. That success goes to Biafran leadership headed by Ojukwu.

Even after more than 14 years of being on Nairaland, you still struggle to understand how to use the Nairaland "Quote" button.

Yet you think you deserve my time even despite your rant being baseless??

Nah!

Can you please quote me the specific lines (from the book) where you got these impressions from that Soyinka wasn't in support of Biafra -- the then secession struggle?

While I wait for that, even in as recent as 2017, his position with respect to Biafra is articulated thus: "The right of the people to determine their future is what is nonnegotiable."

@TAO12... Thanks for the rare 1960s picture of the iconic Prof. "Ijegba" himself and the police man. Soyinka was very bitter in his prison memoirs that he was sent to prison by the authorities on false charges... Including spying for the enemy... and it was even falsely reported in the media that he had STD! grin Gowon later apologised to Prof. sometime in the 2000s over that war-time episode. All the best... and thanks for sharing.
