Nothing for Imo state with highest number of qualified candidates for higher education.

Who knows whether the mindset of: ‘it must be either located in Owerri zone - or nothing’ cropped up during decision?
Every important thing, including all tertiary education institutions in Imo state, can be allowed only in Owerri.

Most backward state in the east.

Congratulations to all the indigenes of Iwo and Osun state in general. Iwo deserves to have that school as there was no single federal presence in that town and it has largely been abandoned by successive state administrations in terms of development. In spite of its huge size, status as a senatorial headquarters, population etc,Iwo has never been fortunate with both state and federal governments presence. Safe for Boven University and the ancient town proximity to Ibadan,it would have been a complete glorified village !

I'm not from Iwo,but I'm so happy for the people of the town especially, the kabiyesi,Oluwo of Iwo land. Congratulations to Iwo !

Cryomancer:
Misplaced priorities.

Of what purpose will approving these new Colleges when the old ones in existence are totally nothing to write home about.

It's not about the amount of these Campus in a country that matter, rather, it's the amount of academic impact they make in the country that really matters.

Stupíd leaders with stupíd followers.
true fact I like your closing remark; 'stupid leaders with stupid followers.'
the graduates from the existing one are unemployed yet you are creating more to turnout more useless unemployed miscreants.
why not give technical schools that would be of more benefit to the economy than colleges of education that produces uneducated graduates.

Hmm,I get your drift bro. The Redeemer University was to be sited at Ilesha but something came up which I believe you are aware of. I believe as a man of God,baba Adeboye just overlooked that issue but it must have pained him somehow as an Ijesha man. I'm talking about the issue of leadership you raised.

Making 2 in Iwo (Bowen University and College of education)
Institutions in Osun are spread, they ain't only in Capital.
Not two. Apart from Bowen University and this newly proposed College of Education, there is Westland University (formerly Wolex Polytechnic), NOUN and one Islamic institution.

The one in Ekiadolor was state owned before. Then Oshiomole changed it to Tayo Akpata University of Education. So the place was left without functioning as the government was trying to make a transition from college to university. It seems the present Governor just felt it would be better if the federal government takes over the project and it least save cost for Edo tax payers.

Useless country, instead of using the money to equip and maintain the existing ones, they're are looking for a way to loot in the name of creating new ones
