True Grit is turning out to be quite the movie! cheesy
I loved it. As the movie progresses, we get to see why the movie is named 'True Grit.'

What can I say? May God bless one with a daughter as bold, fearless and intelligent as Mattie Ross. Fantastic movie!!!

From the top of my head, these movies range from good to watchable (they're not in order). For NIGERIAN standards o. I wish I could recommend some 'older generation' movies, but I can't remember any of their titles lol

King of boys
Quagmire
Tiwa's baggage
Rough patches (started off well, then got weak towards the end in my opinion, you could tell it was rushed)
Maybe Mine
In sickness and health
Last flight to Abuja (I recall this being decent-ish)
Desperate Housegirls (a TV series, not movie, I recall it being watchable)
Gidi Up (Nadni TV series)
Skinny girl in transit (Ndani TV series, I've only watched the first few seasons though)

Again, NIGERIAN standards o. On average, a Nollywood 10 to me is like a Hollywood 5

The Mummy. (Rewatch)

Really had a laugh with this one. Totally enjoyed every bit of it. The humour us top notch, story is cool and the history portrayed is awesome.

Couldn't help but wonder why a country so rich with such tradition and history threw everything out the door for Islam.

8.8/10.

The Mummy Returns (Rewatch)

Just as good as the first. Nice action scenes, humour didn't disappoint, storyline was on point, culture displayed was very very educating and the message is simple: Love can either make you or destroy you.

8.6/10.

This is a high IQ comment.

I like it when people ask deep questions about movies or as a tangent off the movie.

Well, the short story about islam in Egypt is that Muslim Arabs conquered Egypt and forced islam on them.

Ot is unfortunate how many historical sites in north Africa have been destroyed by conservative/radical muslims

Edited

Muslim Arabs had conquest in 634 AD in Egypt. They conquered Egypt after the romans

Ex-Machina (2014)

Perfectly typifies the risks of Artificial Intelligence in a single story between just three pertinent characters. Couldn't recommend enough.

They prolly gave in to Evolution.

If they could change their Language to Arabic what more their cultural heritage or religion. They kinda adjusted to the times. Besides the various Arab Empires which conquered Egypt were kinda tough on imposing their Religion, language and culture on the the Egyptians.

Hundreds of years or centuries of such imposition and socio-cultural influence must have eventually led to adaptation and Evolution.

Egypt is one Nation whom have been conquered, ruled and influenced by various Empires in it's history. Too many I'm not comfortable with, I begin to wonder at times if it's still the world powerful Egypt in Biblical and Quranic times.

From the Romans, to the Greeks/Ptolemaic Empire (Alexander the Great), to the Persians, The Achaemenid Empire, Ottoman Empire. Prolly British Empire also Etc...

They still have a very rich culture spanning Millennia and various influences from different people in time. Egypt and Turkey have been two nations at the crossroads of cultural influence from various world powers in the region since time immemorial.
They'd definitely prolly have changed a key part of their native culture in time, due to all this influences.

For a reputable online forum, their spambots are actually imperfect.

Constantine (2005) - 8.5/10

Constantine is a 2005 American occult detective film directed by Francis Lawrence, and starring Keanu Reeves as John Constantine. Rachel Weisz, Shia LaBeouf, Tilda Swinton, Pruitt Taylor Vince, Djimon Hounsou, Gavin Rossdale, and Peter Stormare co-star.

The film is based on DC Comics' Hellblazer comic book, with plot elements taken from the "Dangerous Habits" story arc and the "Original Sins" story arc.
The film portrays John Constantine as a cynic with the ability to perceive and communicate with half-angels and half-demons in their true form. He seeks salvation from eternal damnation in Hell for a suicide attempt in his youth.

Constantine exorcises demons back to Hell to earn favor with Heaven but has become weary over time.
With terminal lung cancer, he helps a troubled police detective learn the truth about her twin sister's death while simultaneously unraveling a much larger and darker plot.

RT rated it 58%. Their site's consensus states: "Despite solid production values and an intriguing premise, Constantine lacks the focus of another spiritual shoot-em-up, The Matrix."
On Metacritic, the film holds a score of 50 out of 100 based on the reviews of 41 critics, indicating "mixed or average reviews".

Personally, I really connected with this movie. I am a fan of Reeves, and seeing his past self (without the beard), made me smile. Reeves was cool as shii cool
Seeing LaBeouf too (before all the controversy), brought back memories. Rachel too. She was a stunning cop tho grin

Despite the mixed reviews, I had no problem with it. I have a lotta favourite scenes.
Long story short, I enjoyed the movie like maad.
