aztec:For serious and credible investors, the SW is the safest and the most logical destination for so many reasons from societal stability and conducive environment to safety and security of investment, access to large markets and consumers with disposable income, educated manpower and solid retune on investment, these are attributes the other regions lack, When Fashola was lobbying and chasing Dangote with inducements, land, and everything under the sun to move his refinery to Lagos, these loudmouths were abusing him, they called it white elephant and Tinubu connection land giveaway, but luckily for Lagosians, they have smart, intelligent and forward-looking leaders. We are talking about not only a $15 billion investment, the largest private investment in the history of Nigeria, but also the hundreds of thousands of direct and indirect jobs to be created, this is the kind of investment governments all over the world kill to direct to their country. This is why I still rate Fashola as the best Lagos state governor ever. |

Sammy07:Ogun state wasn't ready for the overflow from Lagos, it's very hard for them to keep up, but they must as a matter of urgency, they need to drive up their infrastructure to accommodate human and industrial growth. The issue with Ogun state is not limited to Ogun state, even Oyo state is facing the same challenges with Oluyole industrial estate. I think the SW collectively should fund a superhighway from Lagos all the way to Ondo state, even if they have to borrow and toll it. I agree with you 100% about Osun state, imagine Aregbesola in Ogun instead of Amosun. |

NGpatriot:Yeah, but at least both states should be able to construct like 10lanes to the entry of Lagos. And watch how people will be moving to both states. Maybe, Oyo problem is budget. Their budget alone self, Ibadan will chop everything and won't be enough not to talk of other towns. |

Oshigun:@Oshigun, Jim Ovia isan Ika man from Agbor NOT Ibo. Ovia is a name of EDO origin and many Agbor and Ika have names/surnames of Edo roots because they migrated from there and they speak the Ika language. Also, many Delta North or so-called Ibo-speaking towns actually originate from the EDO, YORUBA, IGALA, NRI east of River Niger, etc. This may explain why they also relate with, and marry Yorubas. Tony Elumelu's wife's father and mother from Onicha Olona in Aniocha North lived and worked peacefully in Lagos during the Nigerian Civil War. Ovia is a name which has to do with the God of iron in EDO. Jim Ovia even gave out his daughter to a guy with Yoruba parentage so Jim Ovia has cemented ties with Lagos and SW through family ties and business. Finally, read up on the history of the OLUKUMIS (such as Nduka Ugbade from Ugbodu) of Aniocha North of Delta State whose ancestors are of Yoruba origin. Hope this helps... and your post was based on EMPIRICAL FACTS! |

NGpatriot:Man! The opportunities are massive! At this rate you will give the Ibos high blood pressure! Lol. The multiplier effects will even cross into Ogun and the SW region considering the fact that the Lagos-Ibadan rail project is 90% complete—the port connection segment is the main work left. This rail line will really integrate the SW region and especially boost Ogun state given its proximity to Lagos. Real Estate prices are also set to rise in many areas in Ogun just as we’re seeing in the Lekki axis. I’m also glad that the governors have seen the importance of security hence the establishment of Amotekun. This will further make the SW the premier destination in Nigeria and the West African region. Long live Ooduwa!!! |

When Awolowo and Ahmadu bello were shouting that One Nigeria can never work. Zik was busy eyeing how to govern Southwest. . ![]() Reason why he had to put all the efforts in keeping One Nigeria ![]() Now that we're in, some sect of people wanna OP out for where ![]() We die here. Until we milked the Niger Oil finish for the development of SW and North One Nigeria should continue |

NGpatriot:Fashola is also my favorite! That man has vision! I’m just glad we got the Dangote Refinery situated in the SW. As you have clearly shown, the multiplier effects will be massive and it’s for the long-term. I wonder how the SS folks are feeling. It’s a real slap on their collective faces and a massive vote of no confidence in them as a people. It’s the people that make the environment conducive for business. In that regard the SS has failed woefully. I hope that the light rail project is given more attention as if will really boost Lagos and materially improve the quality of life for the residents. |

NGpatriot:Apparently the Ondo to Lagos Road has begun. I can’t confirm this but I heard it has started even though work is slow. The basis for the road is the proposed Port in Ondo state. I agree that Ogun State has struggled in terms of ramping up infrastructure to accommodate the Lagos overflow. Luckily the Lagos-Ibadan express way Project is making good strides. Julius Berger are doing a fantastic job I can tell you. The road will really open up Ogun State especially the Sagamu to Mowe/Ibafo axis. Add the Lagos-Ibadan rail project that is almost complete and the mind begins to get excited! |

aztec:This is the next best thing Ondo state can do after losing Dangote refinery to Lagos because Mimiko was just dumb and stupid, he was playing PDP politics and lost massively. The Ondo/Lagos road sounds like a backdoor major coup for Ondo state because even though they don't have Dangote refinery, they have direct access to goods and services from the complex to further growth and industrial activities in Ondo state, also, on the other hand, Ondo state is witnessing their own industrial boom at Ondo-Linyi Industrial Hub from Ethanol plant to textile, truck manufacturing plant, plywood and papermill plant. Lagos is the largest market so the Lagos/Ondo road is very crucial for easy movement of finished products to Lagos. Good move. The SW is well-positioned to dominate economic activities in Africa.. |

Oshigun:if the igbo traders don't pay tax as alluded by you then why do i see LIRS Tax outlets in every major markets where the igbos are dominant?. Even the local government goes to collect their taxes from them every month. you see your blind hatred to the them won't change the fact that they are a significant contributor to the economy of Lagos State, that doesn't mean other ethnic groups aren't doing nothing. You better learn to "accomodate" as you claim. if you can't help it, you can exit Lagos and relocate to Ekiti... ![]() |

NGpatriot:why do you mumble false claims, who told you they aren't in the eastern region? we do have our own local homegrown fast food companies like crunchies, eggle springing up within the region. that should tell you that the local economy is burgeoning and alive. All those brands you mentioned are foreign brands, all their profits will be repatriated to their homeland. but that's not the case here, at least their profits will be used to further expand their operations... |

winterfell007:Rubbish post. My friend, IPOBians and tax evasion are 5 and 6. They don't even pay tax in their SE States talk less of Lagos or any SW State. As per your 'accomodate' quip, you simply don't understand that only fools would seek to accomodate enemies-within and saboteurs which Igbos are. Finally, even if I am from Ekiti I would always have far more entitlement in any part of Yorubaland than any Igbo. Educated Yorubas are the same and this is why Aregbe can be a commissioner in Lagos and later the governor of Osun. Shukwudi or Shinenu cannot do that. Kapish? Comprende? |
