Wow. I am speechless. So I think the 2.1 is good enough, can't place the exact point now but it was up to a 4 at 300L.

My secondary school background is strong enough and about me "just trying" GRE that was me being sarcastic. I hate losing, so if I do decide to take the exams I am definitely giving it 100%. I have also tried with building myself in that area by taking scholarship exams as an undergraduate (wrote 3 national exams in total and I was successful in 2; fell short in the 3rd one by 2 marks).

And about RA, I don't know. I wasn't exactly close to lecturers in school so building that kind of relationship now might be a problem. Getting recommendation letters won't be a problem but you made mention of RAs being a deal breaker.

I am currently following you for guidance on this journey.

It's good your GPA is good and you are familiar with standard tests. All these would help you. Not being able to do RA is not helpful, but having 3 or more profs/lecturers to write you big letters will help.

You didn't clarify when you earned your BSc and your course.

Mhen, with this BSc accounting, what do you want to do for grad studies? Anyway, you can stand a chance if you impress with GRE.

It depends on your institution, those from Unilag were favored more. For the year I applied, cut off was 65 for Uniben. Some had lower scores from other schools and yet got the scholarship.

Hi, please i sent a mail to the moderators of the education segment about attempts to defraud people who submitted account details on this thread:
https://www.nairaland.com/4340181/n10k-10-students-each-phase

I'd very much like if the thread can be taken down because even though it has been inactive for a while, it contains a lot of account details and private information that can be used for fraudulent purposes. Please treat as urgent.

Thank you.

In some universities, it is a guarantee employment opportunity, most especially if your department lacks first class graduates. But I knew a lady who made first class in the same university, but she is teaching in private secondary school. Though I complained in the school official Facebook page on behalf of the lady, they invited her for interviews and she refused to come, I later found out, that she used her toto to gain almost all the As in her result, she even dated the head of their department
I must confess, the TOTO must be deserving of it then....first class is not easy.... grin

The pain I have is that many do not know why they aimed for the grades they did while in school. We can all shout Nigeria is a failed state, however, when we do things without purpose, we are worse than failures.
The mere wish never to be an academic mediocre and achieving it is a purpose in itself that many may not know. I'm sure the guy lamenting above just needs some psychiatric evaluation. First class is great, job or no!
