Only ends after the elections. No end in sight as it stands.

They just want to repeat what Tinubu did to Ambode.

Edo people, please stand up to your right, be it Ize-Iyamu or Obaseki.

God bless Edo State!!!

This isn't about balls but legality. The NWC is also the body responsible for submitting names to INEC.

You need to ask Senator Amosun what happened to him and his candidate in Ogun state.

Governor Obaseki needs to prepare for the direct primaries because when the scripts flip, he will be on the strong side up
But it's the NEC that is supposed to take this decision not NWC.Oshio is on a long thing

I can guarantee you that Obaseki will win this battle. The presidency is behind him.

Your bias won't let you see well anyway.

Kontinuu
Like the so-called Presidency was behind Amosun abi? Or like it was behind Okorocha? Keep guessing.

Buhari's Presidency has demonstrated for long that it has no interest in whatever goes on in this kind of tussle at States' Party levels. And Edo's case is not going to be different.

Obaseki should just give up at this juncture, and port to any other political party of his choice. He, Obaseki lost the battle, the very moment Osho survived the final onslaught against his chairmanship position, when he (Obaseki) went for the kill and failed.
We, the neutral political observers, already knew it will end in tears for Gov. Obaseki, as this scenario is akin to a football match, where the center referee(Oshiomole) is not just a fan, but a club owner of one of the competing teams in the match, so the outcome is very much obvious.

And Obaseki should stop banking on Buhari at this stage, as he (Buhari) has not saved any of his very close political allies before in this kind of tussle, case study e.g Okoracha, Amaosun and Amaechi.

the NWC can't just submit any name. the court will help them if they don't submit the right names

You guys are not knowledgeable. Buhari didn't intervene that time because he needed Tinubu and Oshiomole. He wanted to be reelected too

It's a different ballgame altogether now

Eventually, whose job is it to present the party candidate to INEC? And who approves the final delegate list?

It is unlikely that Governor Obaseki can win the APC primaries. He denied a sizeable chunk of the state constituencies representation by failing to allow their members to be sworn in. These members, staunch loyalists of Oshiomole, have their following who in turn have followers who are grassroots mobilizers/field agents in case elections need to be rigged, for example. Ize-Iyamu and Pius Odubu seem to understand the importance of carrying people along; unlike Obaseki, being a political neophyte, still thinks he can ruffle feathers with Oshiomole in the game, and this may be his undoing. Ambode, despite performing as a governor was removed because he failed Politics of Godfatherism 101: never take on your godfather in a fight, except you are certain you cannot lose. Olusola Saraki, Lamidi Adedibu, Ahmed Tinubu, Goodluck Jonathan, et al all retired governors who ruffled feathers with them. What gives Obaseki the inkling that he can defeat a warhorse like Oshiomole who has been fighting all his life?

Obaseki should forget about Buhari's backing. Time and again, Buhari has not interfere in this tussles at state level. APC has lost some states due to his inability to bring the warring parties together. So Obaseki, just go to the drawing board and strategize how you will fight your battle.

Obaseki need to remember what happened with Amosun/Akinlade and Ambode in 2018
They all forget so soon.

The direct primary is a crazy swift way to end the dream of any guber aspirant, whether incumbent or budding.

I am sure Obaseki never knew that the APC will go the way of the DP in Edo State.

The APC decides how its representative will be chosen and if it settles for the direct primary. Obaseki should pack his things and get ready to leave.
