Beware Of Fraud. Seems Fraudsters Have Invaded The Bvn System

Just got a call from one mobile number telling me they are upgrading the BVN system. He called out my full name, bvn number, and was trying to confirm my date of birth.

Three things i drew conclusion on. Either the BVN system has been infiltrated, or the banks have disposed sensitive documents carelessly, or essential workers in those banks are giving out customers details to fraudsters

Please put it on front page for wider circulation. The Fraudsters number is busy, so he may be calling many customers.

Fraudster's number: 09064137669

fraudsters no invade anything.
Alot of Nigerians are being tricked by various apps on the play store to reveal their bvn...most of these apps are run by criminal networks all over the world.

Some unscrupulous people are also tricking Nigerians to give up their bvn when registering for national ID.
My gf was asked to provide her bvn when she went to register her national ID recently.
Fortunately for her she called me and I advised against giving it up.

Someone should correct me if I'm wrong but is bvn number now a requirement for registering a national ID card?

Yes it is.
Fraudsters can't steal money with BVN. That's why they'll call to ask for card details or OTP code.

This isn't new

But just to be safe

Stop filling all thr forms you see on whatsapp broadcasts,

FG is not sending money to anyone yet

All those foundations popping up here-and-there are not real too, all they do is harvest your information

Finally one link went viral 3-4 weeks ago about CBN business loan for enteprenure I believe some people were behind that too

Bottom line remain careful where you drop your info

And when they call you with mtn glo airtel looking number, don't reveal your details
Social engineering, business email compromise (BEC) and phishing are on the increase now. Do not give your bank details to ANYONE over the phone or on any social media. Stay safe.

It is real. A neighbor was also called. They told her she will receive a code which she did. She called out the code to them and that was all. Her money was wiped. She didn't even divulge any card details.
should I tell you how this one works?

Blame it on fakes apps and loan apps who fail to protect their user's information.
it might be through NIN(National Identification number)

That's why they keep calling and calling people hoping someone would be dumb enough to reveal his or her card details.

Abi o, if them call 100 people in a day at least 10 people go fall for the scam.

But if they are asking you for OTP code it means they already have your card details, my question is how do they get that?

*07036074038* this one too just called me yesterday that the federal government is giving out cash palliatives that I should give details of my card for immediate credit.
He even quoted my full name, date of birth, BVN. I played along with him after telling him I only have account with unity bank {which I don't} after like 10 minutes of stories I told him let me check for my card details to send him
I cut the call, he called back immediately that I should not bother he's going to wait while I get the details. After a while he didn't here my response bc I just drop the phone,
He felt tired waiting and cut the call, I just blocked him thereafter.
I checked trucaller the number has been flagged as SCAM. Lol

Even the UK but I think they can trail money easily over there and they aren't having the level of fraudulent individuals everywhere like here in Nigeria.
