I think It depends on how much you want to invest? I currently have commercial paper with FBN quest, you can contact them to inquire the minimum amount they will accept as i don't know if this investment porfolio is available for small investors. You can also do sovereign eurobond. This is the message i received from FBN quest"Hello ..,There are 11 Sovereign Eurobond options with different maturities and yields. Yields may vary from as low 3.5% to possibly as high as 6.5% or even more depending on the Bond price and maturity" better you contact FBN quest but i'm sure they will have something for you.

Please can you provide us their email

I have been on their web site but cant find it there

Good day friends and gratitude to the great contributors this thread. I applied for a cscs no. yesterday in order to proceed with the ongoing SUKUK bond. Sir Unite4real suggested a simplified process which I was going to follow. However the broker guy at the Afrinvest firm that's processing my cscs no. insists I have to subscribe to the bond by paying into their account. Stating that I can't get a cscs no through them and proceed to go pay directly to the SUKUK account. He insists they're the middle men so that if something goes wrong I can trace it through them. He even said that the account no I want to pay directly to might be fake. He has sent me account numbers to pay into. What could possibly go wrong if I proceed with paying directly into the SUKUK account and sending proof of payment to SUKUK email address as unite4real suggested. If I subscribe through them will they get a commission from me? Pls anyone with idea should help.

Not so.

You pay N2500 per annum if you subscribe to CSCS online

Is it cheaper to buy shares and bonds through them?
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by 9jatriot(m): 3:36pm On May 28, 2020
Is there anything as direct account for Sukuk? Most institution that you use receive the money from you on behalf of the FG. Afrinvest can receive and invest on your behalf, they are a reputable organization

You buy through your Stockbroker, CSCS is the depository of all capital market transactions

Yes, with that FG does not have to pay commissions, middlemen cut off

But I will advise newbies to go through their stockbrokers

Good evening Sir. I am ahuge fan smiley . So in other words the investor pays absolutely nothing to the brokers right? Also why would you advise newbies to go through them? Is Afrinvest recognized by the FG? Thanks

I have been in bond market since year 2000....no stories from FGN so far.

Bond investors are paid their coupons and capital repayment before paying FGN workers salaries

Some of my friends have FGN Bond 2049, 2050....and still waiting for FGN Bond 2090.

But if your not interested in FGN Bonds, your free to opt out.

Cheers! !

Sorry to ask this, but do you think you have fared well in the bond markets, relative to inflation and FX devaluations considering?

I am still an upcoming and seeing the stories of most of you is an inspiration.

Make sure you marry someone with similar investment mentality and not those high maintenance slay queens otherwise you will find yourself liquidating all your investments one by one.

In short, before you marry, carry her come here for screening because I don't trust you, by the time they rub your head two times, you go release ATM password and account login details.

Your comment about Nigeria disintegrating reminds me of my aunty I came to spend time with early 2000 in Abuja.

She was reminiscing years back when land and market allocations in Abuja were very cheap, some where even offered for free.

I asked her why did she and her husband no invest. She told me they thought Nigeria was going to disintegrate. I shook my head.

She would have retired gently now. Now at over 60 years she has left Abuja and is hustling in Lagos.

Wow!

Why would someone commit their money from 30 years?? Such confidence! What if Naija disintegrates tomorrow.

Well different strokes for different folks. I respect their decision

Stanbicstockboker sent me a mail last night, you can check previous pages. The cscs number is not even compulsory which i still confirmed from Lotuscapital customer service not quite long. You are good to go with your bank account number and bvn.
I simply sent my form without filling the cscs part and payment receipts to stanbicstockboker and copied lotuscapital, fbnquest and debt mgt. Let's see how it goes. Though, I'm still expecting my cscs from investment-one. This sukuk wahala no be do or die thing. Las las we go dey okay as far this thread is still alive.
God bless all the gurus with their wealth of knowledge and information.

I just put a call to my Aboki, he said rate yesterday was 450 but they expect to get $ from CBN by next week or 2 weeks later so the rate will drop in few weeks to come, he advised anybody buying $ now should pause except if really necessary. Hope this thing goes down soon.
I doubt if this will happen though.
Rates dropped between yesterday and today because MPC held today so speculators and BDCs operators were not buying or were skeptical.
So till we know what was decided in the meeting today we won't know for sure.
CBN also said it will sell forex to BDCs only for "strategic imports".
Sounds like a very complicated way of saying we will only release very minimal amount of dollars that still will have very minimal effect on fx pricing.
It's like dollar in the 400s is the new reality, hard truth.
But its good as it will help Nigeria boost local productivity as imported goods will become too expensive for the masses.

@Risingcash94 and everyone please note for this sukuk bond, all financial institutions listed and all SEC licensed market operators are agents to collect the money for the federal government at this moment, paying through any operator or institution is not a problem no one will collect commission from you. FG the issuer has taken care of all those, hence you have one week between closing date and settlement date for all agents to reconcile accounts . As it stands now even if you submit to another institution or bank your holdings will be access officially through the broker that open your CSCS and also incase you decide not to hold to maturity they will be the one to do the selling. We should not be skeptical about any agent. Once you check they are licensed by SEC go ahead deposit to account given to you, non will run away with your money just for this transaction. Of course you wouldn't know the regorous process to qualify to do this job for the federal government. I can tell you sincerely you don't have any reason to doubt. Without being biased I can tell you that there are some level of cover you enjoy if you go through a stockbroking house. By now you should know I don't work in Afrivest. I make this clarifications on General ground. I'm with investment one. Same terms conditions apply to all.

You have been a good guy thus far, I expect that your commission are rolling in also as you have been a good brand ambassador for the company you work with.

You also do not bad mouth other companies, which IMO is the right thing to do. You also never can tell which of these other firms can headhunt you.
You never know.
