To be clear, Please what is the one year bridging Program? Do you mean masters or ??
From what you said Express entry is better. Thanks

No, not Masters.

Bridging programs are meant to equip internationally educated professionals with the requisite knowledge and skills to practice in Canada.

Couldn't have put it any better.

To add to this, Social Works is a regulated profession which means that internationally educated workers will require credential evaluation and maybe some extra training.

Richdee1, my advice will be to take the Express Entry path. Come here and do the one year bridging program (there's one in Ontario). This will significantly increase your job prospects.

Goodluck.

The express entry part is when applying for skilled jobs, If I get the Job, How will I come and be working with my employer and at the same time and go through the bridging program.

I'm confused, am I applying using the study visa route for the bridging program then later apply for job or use the express entry.. kus this two are different

Hello all,

Please I need some clarification on an area for the purpose of tax filing. If a dependant was not in Canada as at 31 Dec (there is this specific question using turbo-tax) but had come into Canada twice during the year, how is the child's residency status described for tax purposes?

Thanks, I would appreciate a regulatory reference if possible.

I took this one from the rooftop of a 32 storey building. At least it gives a good view of the "over crowded and chaotic" Toronto lol grin. This area is Weston at Lawrence.
Toronto has a lot of greenery. smiley

Your question is not clear. First, you need to understand what express entry means and how it differs from coming in as an international student.

Do take your time to go through this thread. https://www.nairaland.com/5471101/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled

How long did the dependant stay on each visit? Were they registered in school or daycare?

Hallo, please is there any prospect for a zoology graduate with first class, hoping to do my Master's degree in Canada. What career can I start with in Canada, Nigeria is terrible and I studied a terrible course. I'm so angry with myself. Can I do my Master's in a course not related to zoology
Please don't be angry with yourself. Zoology might actually be a good profession in Canada because they value animals and nature.
I'm writing this post to encourage you. Thank God for this Canada journey.

I will like you to clarify more.
I know for a fact getting a visiting visa is not that easy from Naija.
Now after getting the visa as a visitor, how do you get a work permit?
Dont forget you applied as a visitor....Or is there something new now?I will like to learn from you.
I’m sorry I’m just seeing this message. Once you begin the spousal sponsorship process, your spouse is eligible for a work permit. You are not applying for a work permit until the spousal sponsorship process has started.

Hello All.
I'm looking for information about living in the Durham Region of Ontario. That is Pickering, Ajax, Oshawa, Whitby. Is there anyone on the forum who has experience living in these areas.

Information like where best to rent. Ease of access to Toronto (assuming I'm to work in Toronto and live in Durham).

Access to job opportunities, including various "survival" roles. I work in a regulated field and will take sometime to qualify in my profession.

I would be grateful to receive information about the advantages of starting out life in Canada in this region.

Note: the people who on this forum appear to live in these areas are not exactly active here.

Hi, I stay is Ajax and I love it here but there are not so many survival (or even jobs generally) here , your best bet will be Whitby or Pickering.

Less than 6 months in total, too young for school , no need for daycare. PS residency was from middle of the year

I'd think the child will be considered a resident for tax filing purposes from the day of initial landing. However, when applying for CCB, do indicate the travel history and let them decide if he's eligible.

Terrible course? Oga don’t say that again. Your course is in demand and you’re hot cake.

Just do a google search on zoology careers in Canada and you’ll see your options.

All the best

Thank you so much.

Well, the more options you are qualified for, the better (HSE or Chemistry) but you actually will find opportunities in both fields in almost all provinces, You can randomly search for the positions of both professions on platforms like indeed.ca for different cities or provinces just to have an idea of the number and frequency of job availability in the discipline. Generally speaking though, Ontario has the largest manufacturing sector in my estimate.

Montreal and London(Ontario) had just as much greens when I was there. So, it might just be that the whole Canada is this way(of course with the exception of downtown areas). The scene is prettiest in Fall when the leaves start to change into some of the most charming colours. However, it all withers away in the winter. To me, Canada looks ugly and depressing in the winter.

I understand how you feel. Unfortunately, I don't know much about the prospects of Zoology here. It is likely much better than Nigeria's as animals are loved here, though the market maybe saturated. As for the Masters, I know you can get admitted to a Masters in another course but I think it has to be related a bit. I have a couple faculty mates here who don't hold an engineering bachelors degree but were admitted to a M.ASc in engineering program. So, if you prove to be an exceptional and passionate candidate with the prerequisites, it is doable.

Whichever way, the main thing is to find a way to legally get here first. Once you get here, you can figure out what career you could do. The good thing about Canada is that you'd be able to find something legal to at least pay your bills while you think things through.

Since you graduated with a first class, you might be able to gain admission to a research masters, they are usually fully funded(paid for by the school). If you get that, then it shouldn't matter to you what course it's in, just take it! The school would pay your tuition and also pay you $15k to $20k per annum as TA/RA. I advise that you start working on contacting professors right away because applications usually close 8months to 12months before the session start date. It is no easy task but I know a couple people who managed to land an offer to a fully funded research masters here.

Good day house.I hope you and yours are keeping safe?

Please how does one in Nigeria apply for jobs in canada especially jobs like Nanny, caregivers or even farm workers.

Although,I have been trying to apply via some sites but get discouraged by certain disclaimer that one will not be considered if one does not have the legal means to work in Canada like work permit or LMIA .How is that possible considering one has to get a job first before work permit

PLS HELP.
Although,I'm planning to do evaluation but got stuck due to financial constraints for now.

Also,is it possible to get job with my status.I am a single mom of three and will like to move with my kids

Thank you all

keep applying and pray for a miracle. Very unlikely they would consider you. For farm workers Nigeria is not on the list. Your best bet for caregiver is for a relative in canada to hire you. Phillipinos and Indians have colobi most of the jobs. There are many people with legal status without jobs too so it will be hard to consider others.
