NAF Kits alone would scare off those malnourished Twerps. I wish NAF and SBS can be deployed to replace NA completely in the ongoing Battles, it won't take long to wipe out those bunch of Twits.

Whenever there is a problem, the best thing you should do is try to know the reason for the problem.. Financial Corruption in the military have substantially reduce..The main reason for lack of standard kits is the low funds allocated to the army and sometimes soldiers complaining about the weight n heat..Comparing NA to American military is far out of touch cos the budget of American military is almost twice the entire economy of Nigeria..
The only solution to most of these issues is increased funding for the military that's all.

Thank You. I don't usually get the lame mindset that people have developed over the years. Any thing, they scream corruption first. With the Army budget its a miracle to keep that number of soldiers in theatre fed, dressed for the prom and smiling AND also handling welfare, training and the likes.

I agree more should be done in terms of kitting but with the level of funds we get? Its one reason I marvel when I see COAS running upandan opening new SF battalions(Like 5 now) and pressing men into cop duties. These things, they cost money to run and the eat into budget. And we're still lacking on the equipment front o.

Capital expenditures is the most notorious sector of the budget for stolen funds cos it's easy to cover your tracks unlike recurrent expenditure..Thats the reason for the Government to Government acquisition policy which eliminates corruption in that sector.
Policies like TSA, IPPIS, and others have been able to reduce corruption in the recurrent expenditure sector of the budget.
Example of the successes of these policies is the
Higher Acquisition of military equipment with lesser allocation than then when we had higher funds allocated with lesser equipment purchhases

Does anyone know how much was budgeted for the recently acquired equipment from China?

Why do we post here as if we don't know how things work in international transactions. Simply cos transactions are between govts doesn't mean there isn't corruption. Will some people in the Chinese Govt be willing to play ball with some people in the Nigerian Govt if given opportunity? The answer is a big yes.

The answer is no
because unlike what goes on in Nigeria,
Those Military officials can expect public shaming loss of rank and
Execution by Firing Squad
That is why some of us advocate for G2 to G2.
A well known middle man in the last administration is sitting in Nigeria doing nothing
in China he would of been fertilizer material.

In continuation of the renewed onslaught against armed bandits in parts of the North West and North Central States, the Air Component of Operation HADARIN DAJI has destroyed a bandits’ logistics warehouse approximately 5Km North of Birnin Kogo in Zamfara State. The air strikes were executed yesterday, 30 May 2020, sequel to Human Intelligence (HUMINT) reports, which were later confirmed by series of aerial surveillance missions, indicating that the large structure was being used by the bandits to store their ammunition, raw rations and other logistics items.
Accordingly, the Air Component dispatched a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) attack aircraft to engage the target scoring accurate hits on the warehouse, which went up in flames as a result of its volatile contents, leading to its complete destruction. Four armed bandits guarding the facility were also neutralized as a result of the attack.
The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, commends the Air Component of Operation HADARIN DAJI for their professionalism and directs them to remain resolute in the conduct of air strikes whilst continuing to provide close air support for ongoing ground operations in order to eradicate all armed bandits; thus achieving the directives of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) to restore normalcy in the North West and North Central Zones of the Country.

MORE BOKO HARAM/ISLAMIC STATE WEST AFRICA PROVINCE's TERRORISTS ELEMENTS SURRENDER AS TROOPS SUSTAIN OFFENSIVE ACTION AGAINST CRIMINAL ELEMENTS NATIONWIDE

As the military inches closer and closer to the final defeat of insurgency in the NE Region, more Boko Haram/ISWAP elements are either being arrested or decimated and their equipment captured or destroyed while others continue to surrender amidst sustained artillery bombardments and offensive onslaught against their enclaves/hideouts by the gallant troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE. For instance, on 29 May 20, another Boko Haram/Islamic State's West Africa Province fighter by name, Muhammadu Abubakar AKA Babagana surrendered to troops of 242 Battalion deployed at Charlie Six Check Point in Mongonu, Borno State. Preliminary interrogation revealed that the 19 year old repentant Boko Haram fighter joined the evil group about a year ago at Shaharam and participated in the attack on Tumbun Shaje. Regretting his past actions, Babagana called on his erstwhile colleagues who are currently in a state of hopelessness in the forests to surrender to the troops of the Nigerian Army before it is too late. It would be recalled that on 24 May 2020 another Boko Haram fighter Malam Adamu Yahaya AKA Saad Karami also surrendered to troops of 242 Battalion in Mongonu. In a related development on the same day, another Boko Haram/Islamic State's West Africa Province fighter, 35 year old Muhammadu Kabudumi AKA Amir Sabat also surrendered to the troops 242 Battalion in Monguno Borno State. Kabudumi confessed to joining the Boko Haram sect in 2015 but denied participating in any of the sects' operations. He however revealed that he has done duties at Boko Haram criminals camps at Abadam, Malam Fatori and Duguri under the leadership of Muhammadu Lawan, a notorious Boko Haram Commander.

On 28 May 2020, troops of Army Super Camp 11 Gamboru deployed in Ngala LGA of Borno State conducted long range clearance operations to Gulwa, Diime, Musiri, Wuri Bari, Mada, Sangaya, Jarawa, Mutu, Isari and Mudu Villages of the same LGA. At Isari Village, troops uncovered a Boko Haram criminals' hideout with well constructed battle trenches. The gallant troops stormed and searched the hideout but no contact was made as the criminals were discovered to have abandoned the hideout due to the troops' sustained clearance operations. However, the troops recovered 2 AK 47 Rifles, 20 locally made Rifles modeled for training, 4 Dane Guns, one bow and arrow and 15 Boko Haram criminals’ flags. Additionally, troops rescued 4 elderly women from the enclave before destroying the hideout.

In the North West, on 27 May 2020, troops of Operation HADARIN DAJI deployed at Forward Operation Base Gwadabawa swiftly responded to a distress call and averted a bandits’ attack on the residents of Gigane Village in Gwadabawa LGA of Sokoto State. During the encounter, the valiant troops captured 3 of the bandits and recovered one AK 47 Rifle loaded with a magazine containing 2 rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition, 2 swords, one cutlass, one axe, a set of arrows and charms. Also, on 27 May 2020, troops of Operation HADARIN DAJI deployed at Forward Operation Base Marafa raided an abandoned makeshift hut in Karama village and recovered one AK 47 Rifle and 25 rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. However, no arrest was made as the criminals are suspected to be deceptively using the location as armoury.

In another development, on 27 May 2020, troops of 17 Brigade in conjunction with elements of the Nigeria Police stormed a bandits’ hideout in Dumburun Forest and rescued 3 abducted victims. During the operation the gallant troops neutralized one bandit and recovered one FN Rifle mounted with magazine while others fled. The rescued victims have been reunited with their families. On the same day, following intense pressure mounted on bandits by the resilient troops of Operation KATSINA, some repentant bandits pleaded to surrender their weapons as well as jettison their criminal acts. Accordingly, 5 AK 47 Rifles, one Sniper Rifle, one FN Rifle, one PKT Machine Gun, one spare PKT Machine Gun barrel, one Pistol and one block engine of PKT Machine Gun were surrendered by the bandits. Other surrendered items include 5 AK 47 Rifle magazines, 2 FN Rifle magazines, 66 rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition, 13 rounds of 7.62mm NATO belted also surrendered to troops of Operation KATSINA.

Meanwhile, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai congratulates the gallant troops for their resilience, courage and dedication to the noble cause of defending our fatherland against the criminal elements. He further encourages them to continue to be steadfast and remain ruthless as they sustain their onslaught against the enemies of our nation.

CAS UNDERTAKES ASSESSMENT VISIT TO SOKOTO STATE, ASSURES SULTAN ABUBAKAR, GOV TAMBUWAL OF DECISIVE ACTION AGAINST ARMED BANDITS, OTHER CRIMINALS

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, today, 30 May 2020, commenced an operational visit to Sokoto State for an on-the-spot assessment of the security situation with a view to fashioning new strategies for dealing with the recent rise in banditry activities in the State. During the visit, the CAS paid a courtesy call on the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III, and held a closed door meeting with the Executive Governor of the State, Honourable Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, where he assured them that the NAF, operating in synergy with sister Services and other security agencies, would continue to work tirelessly to rid the State of the activities of armed bandits. The CAS also received operational briefings from the Air Officer Commanding Tactical Air Command (AOC TAC), Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Olusegun Philip, as well as the Commander 119 Composite Group (119 CG) Sokoto, Group Captain Garba Bello. He equally inspected fuel and other logistics facilities at the Saad Abubakar III Airport, Sokoto, where some NAF surveillance and attack aircraft have already been deployed to support the renewed offensive against the bandits.

Speaking during the courtesy visit at the Sultan’s Palace, Air Marshal Abubakar expressed sadness over the recent unfortunate killing of innocent citizens by armed bandits in Communities under Sabon Birnin Local Government Area (LGA) of the State. He prayed for the peaceful repose of the souls of the departed whilst also entreating God for the speedy recovery of those who were injured in the attacks. The CAS disclosed that his presence in Sokoto State was also at the instance of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Muhammadu Buhari, who had directed, through the Chief of Defence Staff, that a massive offensive operation be undertaken against armed bandits, kidnappers, cattle rustlers and other criminal elements across States in the North West and North Central Zones of the Country, including Katsina, Zamfara, Sokoto, Niger, Kogi, Kaduna and Nasarawa, among others. Air Marshal Abubakar said the NAF had therefore deployed air assets and activated operational plans, in concert with sister Services, to ensure that territories within the affected areas are secured, to keep the people and their properties safe. He however appealed for the provision of useful and timely intelligence that would enable effective and efficient operations to bring the criminal acts and wanton killings being perpetrated in Sokoto State and its environs to a decisive end.

In his response, His Eminence, the Sultan, thanked the CAS for his swift response to the recent tragic loss of lives in Sabon Birnin LGA, by not only deploying air assets and additional personnel but also coming personally to assess the situation for himself. He observed that this clear show of commitment would undoubtedly give hope to the people of Sokoto and assure them that, not only is Mr President concerned about their situation, he is also taking decisive steps to deal with the issue. He noted that it was evident that as a result of the onslaught on the bandits in Katsina and Zamfara States, some of them had relocated to Sokoto to begin to wreak havoc in the State. He therefore highlighted the need for a coordinated approach to ensure that the bandits are denied freedom of movement from one State to another. He equally solicited greater synergy between the Governments of Nigeria and Niger Republic in monitoring the border areas to deny the armed bandits safe havens. Sultan Abubakar promised that the entire people of the State would continue to cooperate with the NAF and other security agencies by providing intelligence that would enhance their operations. He equally made an appeal to the Federal Government for the provision of more aircraft and equipment to the Armed Forces to enable it more effectively execute its constitutional roles.

The CAS was accompanied on the operational visit by the NAF Chief of Training and Operations, AVM James Gwani; Chief of Aircraft Engineering, AVM Musibau Olatunji, and the Air Officer Commanding Special Operations Command, AVM Charles Owho, as well as Directors and other senior officers from Headquarters NAF.

Agreed without reservation or question

Corruption is intrinsic to the global military procurement market.

BA system even have a huge sink fund for paying bribe sorry consultation fees to person deemed to have brought value to transaction.

In the West when corruption is done it's not done so blatantly.

China and Ukraine are the corruption haven of arms dealing.
