Can A Christian Sister Divorce An Impotent Brother? by Samhyme: 6:02pm On May 31, 2020 |
Bethren, your honest, sincere and scriptural view on this issue will be loved as it will save a dying sister... This sister got married to a brother and shortly after that, she discovered that the brother was impotent on their wedding night. The brother was aware of his predicament but deceived the sister hoping that a miracle will occur. What would you advice the sister to do? Do you think the sister should divorce the brother and remarry?

DID THEY NOT TAKE THE "FOR BETTER FOR WORSE" OATH IN CHURCH? BESIDES, GOD MADE THE MAN IMPOTENT FOR A REASON. PRAY TO GOD AND THE HOLY SPIRIT WILL MAKE THINGS CLEAR TO YOU. 1 Like 1 Share |

Samhyme:A dying sister? If your sister has made up her mind to divorce her husband, I don't believe there is anything wrong with that but I think having a child is overrated in a world with a population close to 8 billion at this time. There are so many kids out there in need of a family. She can always adopt or even chose to remain without. Abraham and Sarah were a childless couple for most of their marriage -they were at least happy(not miserable). There are many examples of married but childless couples for anyone to see that a child is not necessary for a marriage to work or flourish. 1 Like |

On wedding day, in the church, on the altar. The priest asks thus, "If anyone in the congregation, or anyone amongst the two of you know any reason why this wedding shouldn't continue, let him/her say it now or remain silent for ever." Also, a long while before this statement, during courtship, each of the partners are obligated to confess any and all secrets about themselves. In this case, since the guy blatantly deceived the lady, that has nullified their union as invalid. Moreover he hasn't been able to defy her sexually. The priest should dissolve the union immediately. |

Do you guys now see why men are always curious before marriage? I believe the so called Christians should have sex we the partners they intend to marry. I mean, this certain man is impotent but what if the next one is a nympho? What if the next one after that thinks sex is only for procreation and not for recreation? Sexual compatibility is one important aspect of marriage we should not shy away from! 1 Like |

[s] Karleb:[/s] Stop advocating for crap. Sex before marriage or not, it doesn't stop problem in marriages, it would only cause more problems. This generation is not the first generation to exist. Many generations before the shiit we're left with today, those days ladies marry as virgins, and yet the society coped with that tradition with no problem. |
Re: Can A Christian Sister Divorce An Impotent Brother? by Kobojunkie: 8:43pm On May 31, 2020 |
light099:Society coped? So did men also marry as virgins even then? And you don't think that what you have today is a possible result of the hypocrisy of yesteryears? 1 Like |

light099: You had to strike through my post to make this dumb comment? How you people actually believed that all the ladies that married in the previous generation married as a virgin is beyond me. The problem we're facing now has always been there, moreover, before civilization became a thing ladies marry at a very young age. |

[s] Kobojunkie:[/s] Since every woman was a virgin and gayism didn't exist, what's left then for the men to fck? It means the men too marry as virgins. |

Kobojunkie: May you never lack! Ladies marry relatively very young in the olden days, some marry as young as 16. Even today, a larger percentage of 16 yr girls are Virgins. I wonder why these people just believe without thinking. |

Re: Can A Christian Sister Divorce An Impotent Brother? by Nobody: 8:55pm On May 31, 2020 |
Karleb: If a lady didn't marry as a virgin those days, it's a disgrace to her parents. Some traditions banished or stoned such to death. You're morally bankrupt so much you found it hard to believe a society where women marry as virgins is impossible. You really have to start unlearning your miseducations. |

This is one of the reason why a marriage can be annul. The guy have a medical condition as bad as impotence and he conceal it. He received the sister and is a sin |
Re: Can A Christian Sister Divorce An Impotent Brother? by Karleb(m): 9:07pm On May 31, 2020 |
light099: Actually, you lack manners! Most ladies in the previous generation married as a virgin because most of them married very early. A larger percentage married as a teenager. Not all ladies in the previous generation married as a virgin. |

@Op, I think your friend and her husband should together seek out possible treatment for the problem. If he has never considered treatment, he should probably start now. |

Samhyme: Health related matter are supposed to have been discussed. If they had agreement to go ahead in that condition. But of he deceived her , she has the right to divorce him . Because a marriage based on a lie is no marriage . |
Re: Can A Christian Sister Divorce An Impotent Brother? by Nobody: 9:19pm On May 31, 2020 |
Karleb: Crap. Just some feeble excuse and consolation for continuous immoral indulgence by someone who has thrown the good standard to the dogs, and so feels a life of self-control doesn't exist anywhere in life, in the past, now or in the future. They married very early isn't the reason for being virgins then, the tradition was. If you like, get to 50 yrs before you marry, you must remain a virgin by that tradition. Very true, not all ladies married as virgins. If that is the case, she'd better stayed unmarried because if her husband broke a negative news on the morning after union, it's not going to be a funny aftermath. |
