This is verse 5-10 and show us the Verse that says "NOTHING SURVIVES THE BODY AFTER DEATH"

"For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing at all, nor do they have any more reward, because all memory of them is forgotten.

Also, their love and their hate and their jealousy have already perished, and they no longer have any share in what is done under the sun.

Go, eat your food with rejoicing, and drink your wine with a cheerful heart, for already the true God has found pleasure in your works. May your clothing always be white, and do not fail to put oil on your head.

Enjoy life with your beloved wife all the days of your futile life, which He has given you under the sun, all the days of your futility, for that is your lot in life and in your hard work at which you toil under the sun.

Whatever your hand finds to do, do with all your might, for there is no work nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom in the Grave,
where you are going.

When one will even notice that the emphasis of the whole Ecclesiastes from beginning has always been "UNDER THE SUN" which even stated from the same chapter 9:3
My friend, a LION had greater influence than a dog but that's when it's still alive!

At death all creatures becomes equal, so human being is just the same Sir!

No matter how great or poor he may be, nothing survives Adam's descendants at death. That's the import Sir! cheesy

Bia op. you want to die bcs of what a medium in India told you? did she tell you that when she was dead or when she was alive? remember no one has died and returned back. they just died with the knowledge of death. too bad that people mistake dreams for deaths.
guy there's a reason God brought you to earth. you have not fulflled that. if you kill yourself like that, hope you know you will answer to him in judgment.
I'm just advising you. not that I care after all. I have witnessed pains of deaths in my family in the hands of some bastards witches and wizzards who have swore to wipe us out. you have not even seen anything yet. make use of ur life. you didn't exist by chance. nothing does.

Yet you can't point out the very verse that says that from where you referenced Eccl 9:5-10

Or have you shifted your point from that place?

In case you do, you still have the opportunity to paste it here!

Havemercylord:
Assuming, death is not a crime or end up in hell, I would have loved to just have a painless death by taking excess sleeping drugs.

I am not depressed , I have gone through therapy and recovered long time ago.

In my research about death, ( life after life) I was talking to a psychic reader from India who communicate with people who have passed to the life beyond, and she told me that most of them who didn't die suddenly or have a painful death always find the experience peaceful and friendly, having family members or friends who have died welcoming them and guirdian angels helping them crossing over to the great beyond.

Assuming I don't have parents anymore, I would have just love to peacefully and happily leave this stressful and sinful World. And our last born is so dear to me too....aside these 3 people in my life, I see life as worthless and waste of time. Especially if you are n extremely good person.
hmm,may the lord guide you

We are both saying the same thing but from different perspective!

Take note that Christians are dead according to the flesh but living according to the spirit!

This means those following Jesus have stepped their foot on the road to everlasting life they will reap if they did not tire out, as for those who don't know Christ they are dead according to the spirit but living according to the flesh, meaning they will only be thinking of how to gain the whole world instead of God's Kingdom!
But regarding the dead, whoever has stopped breathing knows nothing and can't preach nor hear anything again until resurrection! smiley
What then does Paul mean by saying "to depart is to BE WITH Christ?
Phil 1:23-24:
"For I am in a strait between two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you."

Don't tell me it's about remembrance for Christ cannot forget even Judas Iscariot!

Of course it's about remembrance Sir!

Jehovah doesn't keep account of evildoers, he deletes them from his memory book! Revelation 20:15 compare to Psalms 9:5; Proverbs 10:7 smiley

If it is about remembrance, according to your interpretation

Eccl 9:5:
"For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten."
1. The dead know not anything
2. They have no more reward
3. Their memory is forgotten

If the deads memory is forgotten, it is not about weather they are wicked or righteous. In other words, Eccl9:5 is not about wicked sinners is it? I don't think you should cherry pick scriptural phrases.

You quoted Rev20:15 is about the lake a fire (Future event). The scripture is not appropriate to explain Phil 1:23-24 as remembrance

You also quoted
Ps 9:5:
"You have rebuked the heathen, you have destroyed the wicked, you have put out their name for ever and ever."

If this is the state of a dead unbeliever, how come their names get remembered as NOT in the book of Life on resurrection and judgement day.
Rev 20:15:
"And whoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."

Jehovah doesn't keep account of evildoers, he deletes them from his memory book!
The quote above only happens on/after the second death else, there would be no judgement

There will be two cases of resurrection, the first and second.

The first resurrection is for only the Born Again Christians, they will be resurrected NOT with bodies but as spirit persons, this set will never live in the flesh again they'll become angels in heaven and there they will be with Jesus forever. 1Thessalonians 4:16 compare to Luke 20:34-36

The second resurrection will be for those who will live forever on planet earth {Rev 14:6} nevertheless it's the Christians that will be resurrected first because they've understood the arrangement, they will start renovating the earth and gradually the resurrection of none Christians will follow from the last to the first, this means the last set to be resurrected are Abel's contemporaries. All these people will need to learn how to live a Christlike life through a global campaign for Jesus' teachings, they'll need to become Christians {Rev 20:11-12} otherwise they will not qualify for everlasting life {Rev 20:13} by that time nobody will grow old, get sick or die naturally unlike now that their is death and burials {Rev 20:14} it's after 1,000 years of the educational program that Satan will be released to test people for the last time, by then each living person would have become perfect like Adam so no more excuse saying "if i was the one in Eden, Satan can't deceive me when i've gotten everything i need" but unfortunately the majority will still be deceived {Rev 20:7-10} then God will now deal a death blow on all of them and they will all perish including Satan forever!

The Born Again Christians will not experience any of these because they will all be with Jesus in heaven so the second death can't affect them! Rev 20:6

God bless you! smiley

See the use of your phrase "will be.." (future tense). And since resurrection has not yet happened, Paul could not have used the phrase to depart, AND to be with Christ; . Certainly with your interpretation, he couldn't have been with Christ at death since he will be in unconscious state.

Phil 1:23-24:
"For I am in a strait between two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you."

It would be nice if you speak about exactly what Paul is saying in Phil1:23-24 rather than postulating about future resurrection.
