Unlike other schools, Abolarin College wants poor kids who are very brilliant.

If you are poor but brilliant. The king will admit you!

It doesn’t matter the religion. It is not about nepotism, neither is it restricted to Yoruba children nor children from Oke ila.

It is about any less privileged child anywhere who is willing to be educated.

That is why the only criteria for admission is poverty and brilliance.

No it is real. I served in that community Oke-ila
Oragun in Ifedayo LGA . The Man deserves a Federal Recognition. I have never seen a King who has so much passion for education and Community development. I can still remember his words " Always keep your contacts Don't joke with them"
He told us back then that he doesn't have money but contacts work for him. The king is down to earth and open to ideas that can bring about development to his Community. He accepted the throne and left Abroad to Develope the community. His community benefited alot from Aregbesola's Govt.
He is the greatest I have seen.

Yes this is true and I guess only indigenes of the town gets admission there.....Once met there students at a cultural festival held at Center of black culture at Osogbo and they did represent well.

No not only Indegnes. The school admits students from all ethnic groups, religion, tribe etc. He believes so much in One Nigeria.
He is the best I have seen so far.
The school Students are bright and smart too.
I hope to return someday and contribute my quota to the school development. The Man believe so much in Human Capital development. He is not the flamboyant oromey driven types. He is also a friend to the Adelekes.
I will never forget him.

This is highly commendable. I wish many of our highly placed people can concentrate their efforts on human development and real empowerment instead of flexing up and down unnecessarily. He's building a great future for young people and reducing poverty in the land in a nice way.

thank God this made it to the front page. Am presently a corp member serving in the town,Ole-Ila. Everything said is true. The king is an uncommon being. The way he host corps and other immigrants is amazing. He doesn't think like a back man. He is religious tolerant. He, he, he, he. He is an icon. Its impossible to write the deeds of this man. I thank NYSC for making it possible to meet king Abolarin. 2019 B2 still serving

Most kings in Yoruba land are ready made men, before becoming kings. Many of then have Excelled in their different fields of career. This king has made his money when he was in US.

They can't do more than that. The constitution don't even recognize them. So don't expect much impartation from kings
