Warri, PH, Onitsha and Calabar are RIVER PORTS not SEAPORTS.
They all are located along shallow RIVERS and not along the deep SEA or OCEAN.
Because of the shallow rivers beds that need constant dredging, all the river ports have not
been viable and have ran at loses because big ships don't want to go there.

Only Lagos and Onne can be classified as SEAPORTS.

I hope this helps you and everyone to know the difference because
people always get river ports and seaports mixed up.

serves as a Jetty. So it is NOT a seaport.

Yes bro .. I work there couples years back. We have only one seaport in nigeria and only 2propose deep seaport lekki and Ibom

the shallow rivers they are located on that need expensive constant dredging. Ships only go there when they
get dredge, and have to be desilted again after 1 year at great cost.

1 river port also exists in the SE[Onitsha] along the River Niger.

It's not really a Federal Government project per se but a collaboration between Akwa-Ibom State and the Private Sector. The role of the FG is to facilitate the approval for the regulatory authority and support from International Maritime Organizations to use the port.

Ask urself what happened to over 6 seaports n river ports we have in eastern Nigeria, WHY ARE THEY NOT WORKING?

I was CLEARLY refering to the unviable Warri, Onitsha and Calabar River Ports that need
expensive constant dredging in my post. On the other hand, Onne is a major OIL EXPORT TERMINAL
but it is a RIVER PORT not a SEAPORT it is located on the BONNY RIVER ESTUARY.

For your information... @Honchogee... WHO IS FROM the SS just posted on this very page that he
WORKED at Onne Port and he said here that Onne is NOT a SEAPORT! Indeed Onne is a
RIVER PORT. Onne Port Complex situated on the Bonny River Estuary along Ogu Creek.

Who built the stadium for us? Who built the airport for us? Who started ibom air for us? Everything u see in Akwa Ibom is 100% done by Akwa Ibom, we do not have FG presence from time immemorial and we are still better than 90% of States in Nigeria. Other's can wait for the FG to build and make their port work. We'll do our thing ourselves, carry your negativity away from us and back to your state.
