What do you mean our port?

You mean the same port a yoruba man was crying the other day that you cannot get a job or get anything done unless you speak Hausa or have a northern connection.

Omo you have been colonized in your own backyard. Keep laughing at your dumbness.
We would take full control this decade that is 101% sure. Go and import your nonsense from other places we don't need your fake and substantial products in our land.

There's alot of tedious bureaucracy but at least progress is ongoing. They need to finish these last steps so constructing starts. The FEC should also add a north south railline to this project. It's the logical thing to do. They approved new raillines for Lekki and Bonny seaports so Ibom deep seaport shouldn't be the exception.
how many decades will it take b4 ground breaking is done? Other states have atleast done groundbreaking but akwaibom is always on paper work for over 15years now.

Thank you. Nigerians are very insular. Once they start realizing that other African countries are doing far better infrastructurally, they will go into serious depression.

Lekki deep seaport was approved by the FG in 2003, commercial close 2011 and just now being built. The process is very long. The FG seems to be moving faster will Ibom deep seaport considering it was approved in 2015.
I don't understand what you mean by FG moving. Moving how?

Good development.

Hon Rotimi Amaechi may not be liked in the South-South but he knows his onions and means well for the South-South and Nigeria at large.

Do not deceive urself.

The FG will never build a seaport in Akwaibom

exactly. What buhari government is doing now should have been done in the 80s.

PDP government should have introduced nigeria to modernization

This is precisely why I don't like that party.
My father was one of the few early members in Lagos.
He used his personal resources to promote the party in his ward, na our house dem dey hold ward meetings.
He later told me he doesn't understand the direction the party is taking the country.
And that was how he left PDP in 2002 and refused to join any political party.
I asked him to join AD, as his neighbors in AD begins to put pressure on him, he said they have ideas without resources.
My father and all card carrying member in his ward later decamped to AC, just to make sure that Lagos doesn't fall into the hands of PDP.
What he said then was " ba o ba le gbe Ila, a o ma gbe Ilala ", meaning if we can't have it big, let's protect the little that we have.
Just look at Lagos today, God bless everyone who made Lagos of today possible.
Eko si ma dun si, Nigeria shall rise again.

he meant that when you compare LDSP and ADSP, Akwa Ibom sea port is being accelerated. Me think that Akwa Ibom governor is putting more efforts and pressure to make that happen and may be their Lagos counterparts were being relaxed.

The problem of Nigeria is Buhari! You are from SW, point one big project of PDP in the south west after their 16 years in power.

We can point to the 1.5 billion dollars Lagos Ibadan rail as Buhari's legacy in the south west.

I challenge you to show one, not two, not three projects executed by Obasanjo, Year Adua and Jonathan, just one!!!

Buhari didnt start the Lagos Ibadan rail line, no go there.

I looked through the comments attached to this article and I shudder at the thoughtlessness of our people!over ineptness, some are still backing this craze display of irresponsibility?? For ages,we have been ear stormed with the incoming sea port actualization and till date, nothing is on ground but pictures of documents being signed,in abuja?when do we begin to hold the government to accountability over its words?until we realize that we are supposed to be watchdogs over our funds, corruption will continue to thrive.round pegs will be put into square holes!words will be used to complete projects that ought to have been long finished before the drums of celebration, can be rolled out.
This is one area that can launch Akwa ibom onto a home run,and yet there is no urgency to actualize this project but some are lauding this slow approach to meeting the needs of the state.
Stop attacking yourselves here and direct your attentions on a government, playing politics with the future of our children!

Obvious ?

Our problem in Nigeria is our unrivalled capacity for self deception.

1. Has this been costed.?
2. How much will it cost?
3. Is there a budget?
4. Who will pay? Has the Federal Government committed to put down One Naira?
5. When will it be completed
6. Without answers to these questions how can we talk of "acceleration".
By definition acceleration there is an implication of TIME?

We heard that it was APPROVED when Akpabio was in office.
What is new?

The state government has to work. If it is waiting for Buhari's government it won't happen.
The government should find serious partners and put down some money too.
