PrecisionFx:^^^^ ^^^^ You obviously woke up on the wrong side of the bed today! I've been using Nairaland since 2005... and the primary objective of this forum is to learn and share functional information... and I'm glad to say that learning for me is a a continuous educational journey. You either accept good advice or reject it... and face the BRUTAL consequences later. Even @Honchogee pointed out an error/information to me today on this thread and I readily took the correction in good faith because he was right. Enough said! |

Blackking98:his so uneducated .. River state has only 6 oil companies...while akwa ibom has 13 oil companies and produces 530k barrel a day. Making it the highest producer of oil and gas in Nigeria seconded by Delta before the old village rivers ok.

Konquest:How many centuries u spent on nairaland changes nothing. The ports in Warri, Calabar n Rivers are not river ports......That u have spent 400 years on nairaland wouldn't change that |

PrecisionFx:I live and grew up in calabar. Our port is too shallow to receive heavy ships like Lagos. The only thing we receive is petrol which is at the depo. |
| Re: Gov Emmanuel Applauds FG On Speedy Actualization Of Ibom Deep Seaport by Konquest: 12:30pm On Jun 03, 2020 |
PrecisionFx:^^^^^ ^^^^^ Because the 2 river ports of Warri and Calabar have just been dredged... and it is very good to decongest Lagos ports. They will need dredging again after a year at expensive cost. The Calabar port was a political port that was simply built to decongest Lagos of the cement armada glut in the 1970s and it was built with a foreign loan by OBJ from one of the European countries. Calabar riverport is NOT a waste though as it can be converted to a fishing port where packaged fish can be exported according to maritime experts. The major solution will be Ibaka Deep Seaport and Lekki Deep Seaport. Even Cross River State is working on a Deep Seaport as well... and with Governor Ben Ayade's friendly relationship with the FG, that too can come on stream ASAP. |

Konquest:brother why are you wasting your energy educating him. Meanwhile ibaka seaport is no longer in existence is Ibom you can read this lines below; First we need to understand one thing, there is difference btw ibaka seaport and ibom deep seaport. Ibaka was akpabio means to extort money the approval was audio and it was to be located in oron .. ibom deep seaport was initiated by the present govt since 2015 and is located in okposu in Ibeno L.G.A. ibaka is dead and dusted while ibom deep seaport is on course and its PPP. One thing I like about aks is the run the state as a state city in Nigeria the don't like weitin for federal governments but it's just that you can't establish a seaport without federal government approvals. I hope this help |

Konquest:Ok, so why did they build river port in an area surrounded by sea in the first place. Because I know a deep sea port can actually be built in warri and port Harcourt. |
| Re: Gov Emmanuel Applauds FG On Speedy Actualization Of Ibom Deep Seaport by Konquest: 12:57pm On Jun 03, 2020 |
Hunchogee:^^^^^ ^^^^^ Really?... You know I didn't realise that Ibaka and Ibom are 2 different Deep Sea projects. I subconsciously just thought it is the same Deep Sea project Godswill Akpabio started that Udom Emmanuel is also working on. Thanks again for pointing this out for everyone! Ibeno has a very beautiful beach setting that I would love to visit. I usually follow Akwa Ibom State's fantastic developmental activities online/YouTube starting from former Gov. Akpabio and now Udom Emmanuel. My first visit to Essien Udim was in 1999 when I worked and lived in PH, and went in the company vehicles to the home town of a late staff of the company... then Akwa Ibom State had no major developments... But I'M BLOWN away by the dynamism of the past governors since 2000 to transform the state. It shows that there are some priceless gems among the PDP and APC Governors... while some are just clueless among both political parties. Thanks again. . |

PrecisionFx:Let me help educate a brother. Firstly you can export oil without a port using either BOP or FSO. Secondly ExxonMobil, Total and other companies operating in Akwa Ibom uses this facilities for export awaiting the completion of the Ibom deep seaport. Keys: Berth Operation Platform (BOP) Floatation, Storage and OFFLOADING (FSO) facility. Finally for your advance education the still have FPSO ( floatation, production, storage and again OFFLOADING. OFFLOADING occurs when you transfer product (oil or gas) from one ship or platform to another with transfer / receiving capability. Please am don educating your sorry ass. |

Nairalandmonika:^^^^^ ^^^^^ 1. Port Harcourt is far from the sea or ocean because it is inland. But you are right that a Deep Sea port can be built in Rivers State... in a place like Bonny which is much closer to the sea. 2. As for Warri too... it is not located close to the sea, but a location in Delta state like Igborodo[i.e., Escravos in Itsekiriland] is on the sea shore. 3. Bayelsa also has the proposed Agge Deep Seaport project in Sagbama/Ekeremor because it is located around the sea or ocean. Bayelsa is the BIGGEST GAS producer in Nigeria so the project will be viable if militancy or pirate attacks can be curbed by the Navy and the locals so as NOT to scare away investors 4. Same thing with Ondo State's Deep Sea port project being proposed to be sited at Araromi in Ilaje local government area of Ondo. Araromi is directly located on the sea shore and is a major oil and gas producing community in Yorubaland. |

Nairalandmonika:My brother that is when feasibility studies are needed. The wanted making that same mistake with Ibaka before it was move to Ibeno and its was name Ibom deep.seaport. Ibaka is also is shower water , you need to drive upward close to cameron to site an ocean while Ibeno is open to the Atlantic ocean. Again people need to know the difference between River, Sea and Ocean. Tho sea and rivers are all drifted ocean inwardly to the land but some people are widely open to the ocean direct than some.people. |

sellers4buyers:Who would pay those loans? By the way we need to use that so called loan to move from oil to agriculture. When the Chinese come for their loan I hope you would realise the problem with borrowing from the Chinese. It's worse than borrowing from the mafia. |
