Ok, so why did they build river port in an area surrounded by sea in the first place.
Because I know a deep sea port can actually be built in warri and port Harcourt.
^^^^^
^^^^^
Let me just say it started with the British colonialists who built ports such as Burutu
in Delta State and did NOT care to build or have the foresight to build any Deep Sea ports.

The British were content to just use pontoon boats to move goods from offshore as well into the
hinterlands and were not keen on carrying out major maritime port developments.

So it behoves on Nigerians with foreign technical partners to build all the needed Deep Sea Ports
in Nigeria as of now.

1. Port Harcourt is far from the sea or ocean because it is inland.
But you are right that a Deep Sea port can be built in Rivers State...
in a place like Bonny which is much closer to the sea.

2. As for Warri too... it is not located close to the sea, but a location
in Delta state like Igborodo[i.e., Escravos in Itsekiriland] is on the sea shore.

3. Bayelsa also has the proposed Agge Deep Seaport project in Sagbama/Ekeremor
because it is located around the sea or ocean. Bayelsa is the BIGGEST GAS producer
in Nigeria so the project will be viable if militancy or pirate attacks can be
curbed by the Navy and the locals so as NOT to scare away investors

4. Same thing with Ondo State's Deep Sea port project being proposed to be
sited at Araromi in Ilaje local government area of Ondo. Araromi is directly
located on the sea shore and is a major oil and gas producing community
in Yorubaland.
I am from ugborodo which you people call escravos, we have beach and seashore just like Lagos. And ugborodo is part of warri, we are under the warri south west local government.
So Saying warri is not located close to the see is not true.
Ugborodo is the real name not escravos, escravos is a Portugal name n it means slave.

I understand if u put it this way, maybe Delta state govt should look for investors to build a deep seaport. But that's something I know okowa will not do.

exactly what happened in Edo state during PDP rule.

Edo state was in mess, ringroad (the heart of Benin city ) was always flood, no single road project or good transport system.

Then oshiomole came, it made Edo state one of the top 10 state in nigeria.

He changed our educational system.
He increased and paid workers salaries unlike PDP.
He made Benin beautiful.

Etc etc that's why APC always win Edo governor election

I used to tell those who care to listen, that Nigeria just need committed leaders and everything will fall in place.
God bless Oshiomole, God bless the people of Edo.
God bless Nigeria.

stop taking nonsense Ibom seaport is just 5yrs.. approved by the government in 2015. Maybe your taking of ibaka seaport akpabio used to siphon money. Those are 2 diff port,2 diff names and 2 diff location. Ibom deep seaport is located in Okposu 1& 2 is an island community in Ibeno l.g.a. not ibaka
You're a confusionist. Changing d name and d location doesn't really make any sensible difference. Its obvious those changes were made on political grounds. The initiators of d seaport project were not myopic when they went for ibaka as a choice location because of d natural dept of d water which gives much advantage but for d interest of your paymasters you've choosen to be sentimentally myopic

Let me help educate a brother. Firstly you can export oil without a port using either BOP or FSO.
Secondly ExxonMobil, Total and other companies operating in Akwa Ibom uses this facilities for export awaiting the completion of the Ibom deep seaport.
Keys:
Berth Operation Platform (BOP)
Floatation, Storage and OFFLOADING (FSO) facility.
Finally for your advance education the still have FPSO ( floatation, production, storage and again OFFLOADING.
OFFLOADING occurs when you transfer product (oil or gas) from one ship or platform to another with transfer / receiving capability. Please am don educating your sorry ass.[/s]

Trashy n false.

Crude oil in Nigeria isnt exported to the Americas, Europe n asia thru any BOP OR FSO....Stop deluding urself

Yes I know that the oil and gas-rich Ugborodo is the real name of your place and that Portuguese

The Ugborodo people originally migrated over 500 years ago from
Ugboland in the Ilaje axis of Ondo State and Ilaje-Yorubas and Itsekiris of Ugborodo
are direct cousins... and share a COMMON BORDER.

Thanks for expanciating on the close proximity between Warri Town

By the way, what is the latest on the Ogidigben Gas Industrial Park in Itsekiriland
that GEJ unfortunately ran away from commissioning in 2015 after a
threat was made by some Ijaw militants to him that he should not come to
commission it. I was highly dissapointed in GEJ for not going after everybody
was expecting him and former Gov. Uduahan even placed adverts in the
major newspapers on on TV welcoming him to Delta State.

Ogidigben will put Itsekiriland and Delta State on the major global
map as an export hub for gas which is the major raw material
for jumpstarting any petrochemical industry.

I wish you all the best... my brother.

I never said we used BOP or FSO for crude transportation you illiterate wimb. I told you retard its used for the same purpose as a port for crude transfer. Wow thanks. First of all am just a young guy from warri, just completed my nysc, I don't really meddle in the political activities of my community.

I just to clarify somethings, as an ugborodo indigene, we consider ourselves part of warri even though we are in the riverine area. As I have earlier said we are under warri south west local government.

Ugborodo is also under the lordship of the olu of warri, as with all other itsekiri community. Any person saying otherwise is just causing confusion. I think this guy in the video clip u uploaded later had issues with the community people for making such statement.

No information on the EPZ project yet. Of course when the project is finally executed, it will employ more than 50 thousand Nigerians (not just itsekiri n ijaw but all Nigerians) directly and indirectly. There was a conflict between ijaw in itsekiri because of this project.

The ijaws claimed they were not been fully represented in the project because they are the neighboring community to the host community so they wanted some benefits too. This caused conflict between both tribes.
GEJ, an ijaw man sided with his people. Itsekiri decided to support buhari in the 2015 election because of this. Thinking buhari would execute the project but till date, no information about the project from the buhari led administration.

Ugborodo is also the community hosting Chevron in Nigeria but they hardly employ people from the community, even when they give out job slots and money some greedy leaders will pocket the money n sell the job slots.

The riot was because Chevron did train some ugborodo youths but refuse to employ them. The community people got angry n shut down Chevron. The issue was settled by Delta State govt n some itsekiri top officials, I think the promise to employ them n give out more job slot but till date I really don't know how the issue ended because I wasn't in warri then.

Like I said I don't meddle in their political activities of the community n I leave in warri main town (warri south) not the island area or riverine area as they call it.

But generally speaking, we have good food, fresh fish and perewinkle nor dey lack for our food, we have beautiful women too that knows how to cook. We have peaceful n lovely areas too. Maybe when next I go I will try snapping pictures.

Obvious ?

Our problem in Nigeria is our unrivalled capacity for self deception.

1. Has this been costed.?
2. How much will it cost?
3. Is there a budget?
4. Who will pay? Has the Federal Government committed to put down One Naira?
5. When will it be completed
6. Without answers to these questions how can we talk of "acceleration".
By definition acceleration there is an implication of TIME?

We heard that it was APPROVED when Akpabio was in office.
What is new?

The state government has to work. If it is waiting for Buhari's government it won't happen.
The government should find serious partners and put down some money too.
