dollyj1996:I would highly recommend “Chris Dutton” on udemy and majorly on LinkedIn learning tutorials on excel, tho, not totally for beginners, |

Schoolhike:Not just for Excel alone but for Power Bi as well, dude is an analysis wizard. In case you’re around Badagry, I have his Power Bi and Excel video tutorials. |

lalasticlala:First of all thanks for acting on the suggestion. I saw a thread from this section moved to front page. But i would like to say that more can be done. Everything about programming is interesting. Many people are not aware there is a section like that. Check this thread for example, it is very, very educative and is helping people who want to change careers, or start a new career. There are many threads like that. So Lala, please do more. |

Samzeal:Sorry, I didn't touch my home office yesterday. It was my birthday and I was virtually in every corner of the world. Calls were just flying in from everywhere ;, Lagos in particular. I'll respond to all enquiries today but right now I still need to catch some sleep. |

Abcruz:Okay, good idea actually. |
| Re: Chronicle Of A Data Scientist/analyst by Nobody: 2:04pm On Jun 04, 2020 |
Abcruz:Kindly explain how it works, because I'm having issues working with csv files on the laptop. If I try to import the csv,it's saying not found. |
| Re: Chronicle Of A Data Scientist/analyst by nwele2017: 2:12pm On Jun 04, 2020 |
Graspad:make sure you are in the same directory where the file is. u can use is os.walk("." method to loop through all the files in the directory where you are getting not found and see if the file is really there. |
| Re: Chronicle Of A Data Scientist/analyst by brashear: 2:13pm On Jun 04, 2020 |
Graspad:Maybe the csv file is not in the same directory as python/anaconda. you should write the whole csv path directory in your code. pd.read_csv('c:user\desktop\filename.csv') |
| Re: Chronicle Of A Data Scientist/analyst by Nobody: 2:25pm On Jun 04, 2020 |
brashear:I'm trying to do it offline. |
| Re: Chronicle Of A Data Scientist/analyst by brashear: 2:27pm On Jun 04, 2020 |
Graspad:It's the same. Try the full directory. it should work. |

| Re: Chronicle Of A Data Scientist/analyst by Dum20: 4:06pm On Jun 04, 2020 |
brashear:Try this: pd.read_csv('c:/user/desktop/filename.csv') Note use"/ " instead of " \". |

lalasticlala:lala, please help us ask the tribalistic moderator in Politics section wat this thread did to him. He is the same mod that will turn a blind eye to thread abusing Igbo people, yet very quick to hide a thread discussing oil in Igboland. Help us ask him wat this thread did to him. cc seun https://www.nairaland.com/5903415/no-oil-south-east#90309951 |

cochtrane:Great!! I'm also an engineer, I haven't much knowledge in programming, in fact, I just started learning HTML. How has your limited knowledge of statistics played a role in your progress. I'm good with calculations thouh. |

| Re: Chronicle Of A Data Scientist/analyst by Georgry(m): 6:30am On Jun 05, 2020 |
Please someone should advise me, I want to learn programming from scratch and I've ordered for a laptop but I don't know if this laptop can do the job as it looks like a low end system. Dell latitude e5500 Hdd 320gb Ram 4gb Graphics card 518mb Screen size is 15 Intel core 2 duo No webcam... Please its urgent because I'm getting the system this morning... Cc. Graspad Ejiod Elunico |
| Re: Chronicle Of A Data Scientist/analyst by elunico: 6:36am On Jun 05, 2020 |
Georgry:What area of programming are you interested in undertaking? Your Laptop's specs is OK for someone just starting out. |
| Re: Chronicle Of A Data Scientist/analyst by Georgry(m): 6:45am On Jun 05, 2020 |
elunico:I know little about programming for now, I ordered for the laptop just to make sure I have some necessary tools before starting it, from the things I read online I think I will like to start with phyton. I love web design and android app coding. |
| Re: Chronicle Of A Data Scientist/analyst by elunico: 7:02am On Jun 05, 2020 |
Georgry:Web design is cool. You can choose to be a front-end developer, a back-end developer or a full stack developer. If I'm to advise you, I'd ask that you start with HTML, CSS for your front-end. There aren't much complications here, then move on to Javascript. Or since you like Python, you can learn it for Back-end development. For Android app, there's Kotlin, Flutter, Android studio, React Native to choose from. I'm apparently new on this, so, there might be some inaccuracies with my suggestions, I believe the senior colleagues would provide a more expert and lucid picture for you. |
