So far as she is human she can't. I'm not saying she is 100% or a thousand percent. All I'm saying is she is the best we've got that's suitable for the job at least for the time being.

Why is it that it's other people who values things that's under our nose ? We attach no value to them until other people starts appreciating them for their works. I remember Mr. Adesina when he wanted to run for the presidency I'd of the AFDB back in 2015 he didn't receive full support. But now see the exploits he is doing on the continent. Until recently his person wasn't questioned.

Ditto to Adenisa. Everyone will not support you or need not support you, it does't stop your quality. In fact, having opposition is good.

As an insider somewhat, I can tell you even some Nigerians at AFDB initially had their own candidates in mind, not Adesina. This is fine, everyone has an interest and must be allowed to exercise their interest and choice.

Adesina is however doing a fantastic job and I am proud of him. He is clearly world class - no story, full stop.

Adesina is busy causing trouble. Adesina just throw all the former African presidents under the bus for his unethical behaviour. they have to support him to prevent america from trying to control the bank.

I think we have others beside Okonjo.

You are not correct - his behavior is not unethical and he is causing no trouble. If you are an insider, you should know that there are forces with different interests and investigations have vindicated him. The claim of no due process followed has been shown to be weak.

America cannot control AFDB. This is not the world bank where America is the largest shareholder. They're not first and certainly not second.

Strategic economic diplomacy move by President Buhari but will narcissistic President Donald Trump of United States allow her to be elected? Let's wait and see.

People who are wondering what Trump got to do with should read this:

Trump will never allow African to hold such big position again in the world, considering the kind of escalation between US and the world health organization.

Hmmm. I doubt if Buhari would want to nominate a former member of GEJ's cabinet. If it's true, then congratulations to her. But why should we continue to recycle same individuals for so many years?
Adesina was also a former member of Jonathan's government so are you still doubting?

U are just a mumu. Ngozi is not Igbo? Well am from same village with her and we are all Igbos.
We are member of ohanaeze ndi Igbo and the former president, is from my village.
We are more of Igbo than that rubbish called Niger Delta. All the anioma, fought against Nigeria during Biafra war. So don't tell her her lineage. Oghwashi uku, ubulu uku, issele uku, ibusa which the real name is Igbo Ozor, agbor, kwale, Asaba, issele azakpa, obior, all the ika speaking villages, etc are all Igbo people...... Niger Delta is a political name not our identity.....chibuike ameachi is saying, no one should deny him his Igbo identify and u are in Lagos saying rubbish.......when the music that is about to play set, it will clear for Una eyes
No need calling me names, if you've been following the thread you should've known my stand, I too am Igbo, a core Igbo for that from Anambra state.
I was only trying to mimic the proponents of Niger delta, those who often refer to Niger deltans as the minorities whose part doesn't have any Igbo identity.
I was just being sarcastic but even if I was serious, that shouldn't have earned me the insult.
I can easily report you for that and have you banned but for the sake of nwanne, I forgive you.

Buhari should have allowed the career guy Agah have his shot at the top job in his field, but then we all know Buhari isn't the one making these decisions. At least nobody is asking anyone to bring bags of currency in exchange for nominations anymore angry

Am sure this is unpopular opinion: but frankly I cannot see anything special about Okonjo-Iweala she's just a very smart Nigerian politician with an eye on the main chance, which is why she almost coordinated Nigeria's economy to death when she worked for the Drunken Man from Otuoke. Obasanjo was one of the few people who saw through Okonjo's hypocrisy and double-standard life...

Focus on evidence , you dunce. What was her contribution as coordinating Minister of the economy and finance Minister of the reckless , corrupt and ineffectual Government Of Goodluck Jonathan?

Exactly. That woman almost buried Nigeria as a nation, yet she popped out of the whole Jonathan fiasco with a halo shining on top of her ankara headtie. Nigerians simply cannot/refuse to use their brains!

Kudos to the president for this kind gesture. At least, Igbos can now let us rest on this forum. Those among them praying for the downfall of Adesina simply because he’s from the south west can now get preoccupied with praying for their Igbo daughter’s success.

I can also bet nobody will talk about nepotism on this thread. The fact that the president withdrew support from Yonov Agah, a Nigerian from the north central and now supports an Igbo lady should not go unnoticed. If it was the other way round, the fury of hell fire would be a child’s play to what they would bring down tonight. I wish her the best in the election.
Go and sit down.

Tiv, I'm sorry to say, are the architects of their present fortune.
They rode on "we the north" jargon to engage in an unreasonable warfare with those who were vehemently advocating for the rights of the oppressed and marginalized.
They didn't know it would later deteriorate to the extent of the hunter being the hunted.
They should willingly and joyful face the music they tuned on.
Fulani fury will forever be their lots.
Their past, as a matter of fact, the entire Nigeria's past will continue to haunt them until they do the very needful.

Stop all this chest beating. Everybody knows that the woman is overrated .

She performed woefully as the coordinating Minister for Jonathan and left the economy in a mess.

As minister of finance she watched as Desiani Madueke, Sambo Dasuki, Secundus , Mama Peace, Bello Haliru and a host of them drained the treasury.

From her performance, I wouldn’t recommend her for the position of Wuse Market women President let alone DG Of World Trade Organization.

The Nigerian economy under Jonathan is better better than what we have now. She wasn’t responsible for fighting corruption especially systematic corruption which is even harder to fight. In obasanjo administration she was excellent. She has her expertise.

NOI was not the problem of Jonathan’s government. Her only error was trying to manage a country with high Systematic corruption. Which is still present now bt only reduced or maybe less obvious. Which she did give warnings signs the government wasn’t doing enough.

The truth, is that Nigeria do not have another candidate that have global influence to win the election. Yonov will never win because he doesn't that international relations and influence to win. already South Africa have also nominated Okonjo.

What do you think about nairaland developing an online marketing app to compete with jiji?
I think it will go a long way to better Nigeria online marketing especially when it will be competitive with "jiji", the Nigeria no. 1 online marketing store.
One of the advantage is that it will grow fast especially when some of its traffic well be generated from nairaland forum and will be very competitive
Why do you want nairaland to compete with jiji? If you make you platform to compete with jiji na crime?
