Wole Soyinka brought cultism to Nigerian institutions, that's a bad legacy he will be remembered for and also his roles in bringing back recession President Buhari to finish off what is left of a dying Nigeria.

They call them heroes past, I call them stupid, wicked men, useless old people that joined hands together to destroy the future of Nigeria. Nature will never be kind to all of them wherever they are or will be heading to after their death, all those 1950 to 2020 Nigerian politicians it shall never be well with all of you, especially the Presidents, Governors, Senators, Ministers, DGs, Permanent secretaries, and head of government bodies and ministries!!

If he wasn't living a good life, how did he become a nobel laureate?
You think it happens over night?.
Simple, Then they had better objectives, unlike now that they go about maiming and killing people.
That's the kind of mindsets we have today
Imagine a whole Nobel laureate that's the dream of every strong intellectual being rubbished by someone who just can't go and readup issues?
Tell that guy that Woke Soyinka penning him a reference letter for a grant/scholarship will get him that grant especially in his field

Loooooooogstory:

Members of the pirate confraternity welcome Nnamdi Azikiwe
So, what if he had gone there in solidarity of their pains in forming a violent group to quell their hot bloods?
In what way does this pics even show he supports them or among them?
There's no story anywhere he formed any or was a member

He won Nobel Laureate and Chinua Achebe never did. Men, we need to ask questions. Something is not right with Wole Soyinka forming the pirate confraternity. But what do I know kwanu?

Whether Woke Soyinka did it first or not...all that is hit on the head is that confraternities do not picture well of themselves in our society today...most of them don't even know the codes and conducts but act like gangs and mafias
Before Soyinka there were confraternities in American universities so i guess they copied it from them...but Naija na Naija ...we must overdo our own na..
Cults now are Gangs and Mafia groups
Far from what the old men thought of it to be

Who's whitewashing it?
I said what i said. Doesn't mean I'm whitewashing anything. Besides, it was purely a confraternity then, not now.
You wouldn't hear of rival cult wars then, unlike now.
... And yes, Cultism is not a good idea.
Exactly, I doubt it was intended to be a "cult" like it is now. I feel like they wanted to create their own version of the Greek fraternity system found on almost all university campuses in the United States. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fraternities_and_sororities

But unfortunately it was hijacked by riffraff and they're more or less just gangs now.

I am not bothered about the whole "cultism then and now" argument, but the fact that Azikiwe probably had a link with the frat to warrant such grand reception. Just saying!

There are exclusive Confraternities and Sororities in many universities in the United States, The United kingdom...Most if not all of these confraternities and sororities were formed with the noble objectives of fostering brotherhood/sisterhood, camaraderie, academic excellence, unity of purpose...amongst members. I dare say those were the same purposes for which Prof Wole Soyinka and his friends formed The Pyrate Confraternity. Unfortunately, those noble purposes have long been defeated in Nigeria by blood thirsty murderers who masquerade as confraternity members. These days agberos, vulcanizers, traders, jobless youths are members of confraternities. What a shame! Nowadays, street urchins in Mushin, Bariga, Ikorodu...claim to belong to either Aye or SEC. What a shame!

They are destroyers, they hate unities, they love criminality as long as it pays them, they don't care who's blood is involved as long as they receives chieftaincy titles and bcum the richest within their locality and beyond, they are into drugs, they do all manners of atrocities for personal profit, they are the beginning and Genesis of tribal hatred in Nigeria, they caused the civil war because of greed, they were once loved and respected by the north until their greed to own and conquered the southern minorities exposed them to be nothing to the carefree north as in then....now they are being hated all over the world...today one albino that loves his dead dogs more than his brainwashed zombies, is deceiving them again telling them he want a potopoto republic of Biaflood region...... They have chosen to be second class citizens in Nigeria and so they will remain....
