Wole Soyinka brought cultism into Nigeria. He should be executed for wasting thousands of our youths and leading more to early graves

Well
Nnamdi Azikiwe hobnobed with cultists. So, he too should have been executed. That picture indicates that Nnamdi Azikiwe was a cultist.

Those were the days when Frats consisted of reasonable people and intellectuals, Now, the whole thing has been hijacked by lowlifes and riff-raffs, murderous blowhards.
So True. You can't compare Frats of then and now.Just the Same way we can't Compare the Deeds of the Early Church with that of Today.
That will be unfair.

Those are the architects of killing, maiming, stealing and rapping on our campuses today.
When they started that, didn't they foresee what will become of their confra?
Even then, they had skull and bones on their clothes.

Re: Pirate Confraternity Welcomed Nnamdi Azikwe To University Of Lagos In 1972 by OvisFranko: 2:43pm On Jun 06, 2020
Pyrates Confraternity was just like a normal university fraternity as tenable in other climes of the world. Though its nomenclature didn't follow the Greek society standards/Masonic things.
But why should Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe be in a jolly mode with the Seadogs?
He was also a fraternity member. He joined the Phi Beta Sigma during his studies at Howard University, USA. (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nnamdi_Azikiwe., https://www.blackpast.org/african-american-history/1949-nnamdi-azikiwe-addresses-phi-beta-sigma-fraternity-its-35th-annual-convention-washington-d-c/ )
The present-day Nigerian university fraternities (?) cannot measure with those in USA and Western clime because of the Nigerian factor.

I believe the operation manual was edited by some guys that were not admitted. It was made for the brainy and educated and not the artisans and kush peddlers.

Do you know the difference between cults and confratenity?

Confratenities are common in universities all over the world. Mostly positive ones to help with on and off campus life. Both male and female and they are approved by the university’s.
Mostly social / cultural groups. Female version are sororities

Nigerian confratenities turned into gangs or violent group or cults where they have there own diety etc jakujaku. Turn into socio militant group fighting over women and any petty thing.

As per Nigerian style every good thing turn bad.

When Soyinka started confratenities they were as harmless as kegites . Debating and arts society.

Soyinka went on to win Nobel price for literature in English. Do u know how much of an acheievment that is

He isn't to be blamed for that. Look at democracy that was formed with a good thought. See how it is corrupted in Africa to suite some people's greed.

My brother it is always good to be a student of history.Unfortunately the subject was removed from the curriculum some time ago.The objective of the Pirates Confraternity then was as a tool to fight colonialism with the ultimate aim of making Nigerian self-ruled via independence
