LegendHero:How can u gt palm Kernel without the oil It's name the palm fruit plantation in south West Is this how u guys twist facts ? ...south south and south east produce most palm oil even till date ...what are you even saying |

Lets focus North and stop this West East thing. Ango Abdullahi is stupid for claiming North sustains Nigeria. With what? The best cash crop they have in North is groundnut. How much does groundnut sell in international market? If he is talking about subsitence farming, we have always maintained that fulani herdsmen has a agenda for destroying farmlands in south......its tied to political goal that Ango is alluding to, make South a dependent people on Northern food crop. |

mrvitalis:Before you argue with me, always know that I come with statistics and I don't talk about what I can't defend. Below is the data for selected months on cocoa, palm oil, and palm kernel from the Official gazette for both 1959 and 1960. For Cocoa: You can see that Western region contributed for almost 95% on average for the total purchases. For Palm Oil: The Eastern region contributed for almost 93% on average for the total purchases. For Palm Kernel: The Western region contributes on average 50-53% for the total purchases. Note: I have most of the gazette documents from 1957 to 2020. Also, they come in month during those 1950-1970s and it documented with great complexity all the revenues generated by the federal government and the contribution of each regions. Believe me bro, Eastern region is the poorest when you talk of revenue to the central government!

MetaPhysical:Brother lets focus on the North. To be honest, looking at the contribution of each region to the central government, the Northern region tried in their own part. After the Western region, they are the next. Groundnut sells high on the international market during those period. Or let me say they produce more groundnut that generates more revenue for the government than Palm oil. Below is an extract from the gazette for Jan 1961. You will clearly see from the gazette that the Federal government generates most of their income from the custom and excise duties on exported commodities (mostly agriculture). -The first image is the government revenue sources. -Second&third image is the export duties paid of each agricultural commodity. Funniest thing is that this pattern is nearly thesame from the 1956 up to 1963 or so. Hence if the North claim to have contributed in some way in the past, they may be justified. However Ango Abduallahi is just a noisemaker and he should adress the current issue bedeveling the North right now before talking down on the Southerners because the North today are dragging us backward.

LegendHero:Oga what u showed up produces nothing ... east produced more palm oil that West ...we probably sold less palm kernel because it was used locally ...Oga bring the total revenue comparison |
| Re: Nigeria Must Exist On Basis Of Equality — Northern Leaders by LegendHero(m): 6:21am On Jun 06, 2020 |
MetaPhysical:Yes you are right. Benin had that. To be honest bro, Coal already outlived most of its importance to us in the 1957 period to 1966 war because the colonialist used it majorly for building the rails and for electricity corporation. By 1955, the coal mining had somehow become moribund because the government made use of diesel engines instead. Also, we don't export coal anymore so it dosen't generate any revenue and you can clearly see from the picture I attached that we were already importing Diesel oil as at 1957s. Check the Import duties and you will see that. |

mrvitalis:Mr. man, I never said East never sold palm oil more than the west. I am talking about palm kernel. Infact Palm Kernel with its derivative then generates more revenue than palm oil. If you want to know why the East was not able to generate that much from palm oil for export, ask me politely and I will explain to you. I have almost 300 different page for the revenues and production for each region. So don't even think I am making this up. They all conform to the same ratio mostly and they followed thesame pattern. except few cases with deviation. |

MetaPhysical:What data ..u pick random two months on selected revenue sources and call it data ? You guys are really funny .....he was obviously proven wrong that there was no way South West can produce more palm oil than south east Revenue and u refused to add coal ? Bros make una take a chill pill |

LegendHero:Oga Eastern palm kernel was used locally All I'm saying is in terms of total revenue contribution Eastern region was the richest U know between 1909 and 1911 Eastern region has been producing 2000 barrels of oil per day ..( Wikipedia ) and go production was on the increase till the war broke out I dare u to show total revenue from each region |

MetaPhysical:U just jump into argument without knowing what it's about ...he talked about north funding oil exploration ...I was like nope ... eastern Nigeria funded the oil exploration ...as of 1910 eastern Nigeria was producing 2000 barrels per day of crude oil |
| Re: Nigeria Must Exist On Basis Of Equality — Northern Leaders by MetaPhysical: 6:52am On Jun 06, 2020 |
mrvitalis:He responded to the article ahead of you and he was discrediting the claims from North. You are yet to give a single ha in response to North. You are one of the Northern agents that plant division. You are on the ibo side with mrvitalis. More than likely you have a moniker that sits on yoruba side to bash ibo. Give us your thoughts on what the article is saying. Ango and his lunatic brothers up North say they feed you Ibos and feed us Yorubas. Whats your take, my Ibo brother? |

mrvitalis:You Igbos don't learn and sometimes don't know when to stop talking. This is the third time I am saying this. I said PALM KERNEL, stop twisting my facts. Okay lets be fair: The Western Region and Eastern Region alternates between leading both revenue for Palm Kernel each month. So we can say 50-50% to be fair. (Are you happy now?) Below is other data for Palm Kernel from separate date for 1960: April 1960 - East generated more June 1960 - West generated more September 1960 - West generated more November 1960 - East generated more Clue: Palm Kernel data is on the far right side.

mrvitalis:Do you even know the history of drilling of oil in commercial quantities in Nigeria? When was oil founded in Oloibiri in the first place and when did they started drilling the oil? I tried exploring your claim further and this is what I found: "Only two authors, Carland and Njeze, have addressed oil exploration in colonial Nigeria in any depth, with Carland limiting his focus to the relationship between the Nigeria Bitumen Corporation and the Colonial Office between 1906 and 1914. Njeze, on the other hand, concentrated upon the case of Captain Edward Algernon Barnett in 1907 and the development of oil legislation in 1907, 1914 and 1916 and dealt with other oil exploration activities between 1906 and 1958 rather briefly. Consequently their accounts of oil exploration in colonial Nigeria are incomplete and leave out more than they include. Apart from these two authors, no standard monograph on the Nigerian oil industry has attempted a detailed examination of the exploration for oil there before the 1950s. Consequently the initiative to start exploratory work in the colony resided exclusively with private British oil ventures that set out to discover the proverbial Spindletop in Nigeria between 1903 and 1914. Small oil companies simply lacked the financial and technological resources to successfully explore for oil in the challenging Nigerian environment, and in the future only the major oil companies would be able to afford the huge financial and technological outlays that were required. Even then, it would take the Shell/D’Arcy joint venture fifteen years and millions of pounds before discovering commercially exploitable oil resources in Nigeria in 1956." Can you see from the last line that the small oil companies failed and only Shell was able discover commercially exploitable oil in 1956? Please take time to read the source below. They even claimed the said low oil was found in the Lekki Lagoon under the supervision of a Mr Van Sickle. They drilled oil in well 5 and 12 but they found out that the environment is challenging because the Lekki Lagoon concession is often inundated with water and they also lack infrastructure to drill in swampy terrain. Hence were unable to exploit to find profitability. Source: https://dspace.stir.ac.uk/bitstream/1893/2735/1/Oil%20exploration%20in%20colonial%20Nigeria.pdf ****************************************************************************************************************** Below is the revenue from 4 consecutive months of 1960. You will clearly see that Cocoa mostly dominate the list. The last image is to show you Western Nigeria contribute like almost 90+% of the cocoa revenue.

mrvitalis:Lol. Daring me to show revenue. Now let me leave you with two details and this will be my last response to you on this thread. Picture 1- Total accumulation by marketing boards for each region between 1954-1961 Picture 2- Expenditure of each regional government between 1955-1963 Please don't mention me again and let's concentrate on the North!

MetaPhysical:However during the period of 1900s when it was still Northern and Southern protectorate, the North depended heavily on the South. Infact they are bad investments for the British and the they were supported with huge grant from the imperial treasury. The Southern protectorate contributed and borrowed them the money for the rail they built there and it was too parasitic on the South. They later had to amalgmate us because the British is tired of running them on loss. After the amalgamation, the revenue account of both region was merged together and there was no need to to pay back the debt owed because we are now together. So Ango Abdullahi should instead try to find a way of paying back the South the money they owed our ancestors instead of talking anyhow. Ki Ango sanwo gbese ti won je wa ni kiakia! ![]() |
