Fraternities are indespensable for the smooth running of society. Throughout history, in all societies, fraternities exist as elite guardians of culture and society.

Note: There are fake fraternities

Not only WS,the founders of the pirate confraternity the magnificent 7 like Prof Muyiwa Awe,Ralph Opara,Nath Oyelola,Aig Imoukhuede,Pius Oleghe,Sylvanus Egbuche all became notable men of great accomplishments.

It was a confraternity not cultism. All their activities were done in the open. Even Sally nights were with a parade round the school.

These guys turned our youths to what they have become today....killing and maiming themselves.
They left behind a virile and intellectual platform for our youths to build on, but today's youths after smoking weeds and sniffing other hard drugs they derailed from the original platform by building a weaker one.

Wole Soyinka and the magnificent six started the pyrates as a frat group for the sole purpose of fighting for the oppressed and freedom of Nigerian students. (Frats are well known in all American Universities)

Unfortunately, the aim of the group was destroyed by bad wagons who joined the group and became power drunk (I say this because the group was highly respected then) and started oppressing the people they're meant to protect. (This is not different from our military and paramilitary groups today who oppress the citizens).

Due to the oppression, the NBM decided to form their group to defend themselves from the pyrates. And so others followed and before we could say jack, we had gangs everywhere in Nigeria Universities. Fighting, killing and commiting all sorts of criminal acts.

Right now the pyrates have moved out of Universities in Nigeria and are registered. Anyone in a tertiary institution that claims to be a member of the pyrates should be arrested and jailed.

This is to let you all know that what we call "Cults" today are just gangs and hooligans. Kindly check the dictionary meaning of a cult. (Christianity, Islam, Sango worship, Budaism, and others are cult groups because they all have an ideology and a way of life)

They are not CULT groups. They were labelled cult groups by the media during IBB's regime after several clashes with themselves. And I think that's were we got it wrong. Labelling them as cult group only increased their fame. We should call them gangs, bad gangs to be precise and persecute anyone who supports them.

I dey tell you. Although Lords still have some modicum of decency (since they don't admit low lives), but the rest of the 'popular' ones are now populated by miscreants and misfits. Street-level primary school dropouts and jobless idiots parading around forming frat. It's just disgusting.

99% of today's cultist have no clue of anything than drinking, looting, shooting, maiming and harassing people. They should do courtesy visit to Aso rock, and see how DSS will package them inside their raven nest, temple, ship and Maria. Nonsense guys.

It's a lie. At Wole 80th birthday, he was hosted by his own group of cultists, tell me he's not aware of what Cultism represents today.

He has always being a bad boy.
