For starters, victims call out their perpetrators. He is in entertainment so he should know that it is only the rich that would make the news. If he weren't mad or trying to protect his friends, he should shush. Rape is a culture in that country. He knows, but it isn't rape if 'they' don't define it.

Victims will cal out whoever they wish to call out. Rich or poor. He should mind his damn business.

In his Instagram post, the club manager expressed that rape victims who wait for their abuser to get rich or well known before standing up are gold digging. He also spoke to guardians to teach their children how to speak up to guarantee justice is served.

Today, tomorrow, 5years, 20years and I'll listen. A rapist has committed a crime, and he or she will have no power on when you decide to demand Justice, the decision is yours and yours alone.

For the person who's has been sexually assaulted, I want you toknow that I see you, I hear you.

For the young girl or boy that was molested by a father figure, a brother, a sister, an uncle I see you.

If you were taken advantage of by a respected figure, a Pastor, an Imam, a teacher, a politician I want you to know I hear you.

They reported to the police, they reported to Fatoyibos church elders and nothing was done.
She had no father, but her mum, brother and sister.
There was no social media to cry for help for justice 20 years ago. There was no internet sef and no mobile lines. Mobile lines came into existence about a year later, and even without phones (MTN) were about 22K then. Na only the elites could afford it.

So many mad dogs are already barking in my mentions. Club is one the unsafe spaces for women. Spiked drinks, sexual assault, and rape are very common in that space. Then a mad club owner is pretending not to know how prevalent rape is in Nigeria. I don't blame him, rape is about power. To him and his friends, victims are powerless and you cannot hurt a powerless person.

Nah, many people also accuse poor men of rape. He is silly to think otherwise. He is a Nigerian man and a club owner, he cannot claim not to the prevalence of rape in our culture.

Also, anyone advocating for victims to speak up should understand why victims tend not to speak up. His message would be more emphatic if he had asked the questions and done his research.

I don't think the actions of a deranged few should be seen as our culture. Rape is not a culture.If one is raped it is an abominable act and I condemn it in its entirety.If you can't speak now its better to remain silent not when one is a victim today and wait till another ten years to speak up.Victims should be encouraged to speak up.

First off, the victims never knew the rapists would be popular. They most likely never saw the rapist again until he resurfaced as a public figure on TV and social media and this triggered the victims to speak out. So, no blame game, please. Let's just respect their choice and decision to speak out now. It is well.
