Did u expect something different when "quota system beneficiaries " make up the largest percentage of the members of the agency? Are u surprised why we keep importing even the smallest and less important things? This agency was supposed to be a ground to locally substitute all our imported goods with locally produced ones over time, but they have always failed.

As an undergraduate, my supervisor (Now late) back then, a Professor of Microbiology won RMRDC grant...He develop a dry powder enzyme used for hydrolysis of Cassava starch to produce Ethanol. I followed my Oga to different exhibition back then before his death.

There are many outstanding research RMRDC have supported in various Nigeria institutions... Upscaling those laboratory researches are the major problem of Nigeria Academia.

That Prof is surely not the right person to head that institute. He clearly stated that the glucose thingy is still at the pilot stage.. only kilishi is completed, that's y the focus on it.
He had the opportunity to sell to the Senate what the institute has done in 33yrs and the only thing that is completed according to him is Kilishi..thats a big joke if u ask me, considering the huge budgetary allocations to that institute over the years

Stupid lawmakers asking for scientific breakthrough. Its like wanting to reap on a land one did not sow anything on. Compare the budget of the senate to the budget of this research institute and you will know who should be ashamed. Research require time and serious funding. Not pennies and grammar. And the institute does not even have a laboratory.
