How much is their budget? Convert to dollar and you see that it is not enough for what a university professor in the West use to run his lab and do research. And they want scientific breakthrough.

Before ur conclusion, u would have stated the budget over 33yrs, converted to dollars and compared it with the university in the west. Only then u can make a logical conclusion.

But even without doing that, is it justified that salaries, allowances, medicals, foreign travels/estacodes etc was earned by staff for 33yrs just for Kilishi? Not to talk of building maintenance, plant and machinery etc.

I personally believe the institute would have done a lot more than what the current MD said in that panel.
And i also think Kilishi wasn't discovered there

I actually did my i.t there and can confidently say that there is nothing really happening in that organisation except for the techno-expo that is done once a year.

Exactly.....there was an international firm I use to work with many years ago that tried to do something in the solid minerals industry with them......they just like doing expos and seminars up and down...

This is a free world, everybody has gotten the right to whatever pleases them. I'm seriously rediculed by the report of the newspaper on the DGs response at the Senate yesterday. But it's a payback period for the DG. For many years the Nigerian press have been given pressure to grant them press conferences but for reasons of being qouted out of context, he refused to oblige them. I should know this because at a time in the life of this administration, I was seriously engaged with the press and I knew their feelings and distain for the RMRDC. At this point we cannot even put up an advertorial to dispute this reportage, because doing it would mean putting paid to the blackmail. RMRDC has remain a centre of excellence with the coming of Prof. HD Ibrahim as it's DG. A fine and very intelligent person who has lifted the organization to the next level starting from complete value chain analyses and development of both agric and mineral value chains. Establishment of specialised laboratories at the AUST, establishment of equipment demonstration centre at NASRD., Putting up a world class resource centre at the headquarters etc. All these facilities were absent in the last 5years before his appointment. At the National Techno exposition competition promoted by the FMST, the RMRDC took third position two times, second position once and first position early this year which shows that among it's peers in the ministry, it remains a formidable force to beat. The press can say anything but our stakeholders and indeed the ministry know who we are...
