How To Scan Any Free To Air(FTA) Channels On DSTV Explorer Receiver

First of all, remove the ‘LNB in’ cable at the back of the DSTV decoder.

Power ON the decoder and ignore the notification messages displayed on the TV screen indicating ‘No Signal’.

Press the DSTV or MENU or Blue button on the decoder’s remote controller.

While on the menu, Navigate to ‘SETTINGS’.

Choose ‘SATELLITE SETTING’.

Select ‘ADDITIONAL NETWORKS’.

Choose ‘NETWORK 1’.

Switch ‘Enable Network’ to ‘YES’.

Now you will notice that other information in the network 1 window is editable.

Scroll down to “frequency” and input the satellite TV free to air (FTA) frequency you want to Scan.

Scroll down to “symbol rate” and input the symbol rate figure.

Change the polarization to that of the satellite you want to track.

Check the signal bar for signal status

select ‘SCAN THIS’.

Please wait for the scanning to complete.

After the completion of the scanning; Dial ‘221’ on the remote control.

Press and go to the “Channel List” and you will see the free to air (FTA) channels added to the list.

Select the channel you want to watch and enjoy.

I tried it today couldn't get it.1s this the frequency,i want to combine both joyprime(28.2'east) and the cnn.Pls can you tell me the distance?

you first and track cnn at 11015 v 30000 afterward input dis frequency media 7 10970 v 30000 just behind cnn at right handside thats where u will hang u lnb mbc and joy will automatically surface

In my experience anytime but the programs will be blocked by dstv if that happens hold the power button it will reboot the decoder. But you must have already track the FTA bird first. Don't use the dstv decoder to track its quite boring.

Please, I've been thinking, do you know if it's possible to combine MYtv @51.5°E and MBC @ 26° E on a 1m dish??

Theoreticall, it should be possible, but it's going to be tricky...
Please anyone in the house that has combined MYtv @51.5°E and MBC @26°E should help a brother.

TRT back on Nigcomsat. Global TV and Capital TV added as latest channels. Re-scan to enjoy!

Hybrid=stb + android.
You can even watch dtv channels also,currently watching some startimes and gotv channels as FTA with a local antenna(Yagi) attached to this hybrid monster.
