They will either charge you 1% or $2 based on which ever is higher...

Trove are for the big boys... People that buy large dollar worth of stocks.

Not for people that buys stocks in fractions...

IMO its all a matter of perspective

[s]Trove (same pricing model as Chaka) is favorable for the "big" boys i.e. folks whose individual trade whether purchase or sale exceeds $200. The higher of $2 or 1% is not favorable to the fellow who trades individually <$200. Hypothetically, just imagine paying $2 on a purchase of 4$ and another $2 on sale = Capital depleted

Alternatively, Bamboo's flat rate of 1.5% is more pronounced when individual trades exceeds >$200 where the opportunity cost on commission to say Trove or Chaka is 1%. It may appear .5% is insignificant until you start dealing BIG numbers.[/s]

At the end of the day, its a NGO business plus money must be made for the venture capitalist and thankfully monopoly is minimal else wetin me wey get $4 for do?

DO NOT BUY ANY OF THOSE CHINESE STOCK. Those people are up to something, To wipe out all the gains people have made.

I had bought and sold it.
Thought I should give myself a valentine gift on 14th Feb and bought at $3.80 but sold at $4.20 on 27th Feb when the market took a dive due to the early signs of corona disruptions then.

But it remains on my watchlist as I see a future in it after this beating it has gone through.

Yours truly is back in NIO at $3.02.
If it dips below $3, I average down.
Money must be made. grin

Currently sitting on over 100% gain here.
Bought $3.02 on 14th April, closed at $6.30 yesterday.
Should it dip below $5, I will buy more.

This is for keeps.
Learnt a lesson from Tesla which am going to share shortly.

Now my Tesla story.
I bought Tesla $711.53 on 2nd March 2020 to trade it at the slightest $100 gain.
Along the line, I decided I will hold long term.

After weeks of rigmarole, it shot up to $814.42 on 20th May 2020 and I sold happily with a $950 gain, forgetting my last decision to hold long term.

Behold, 20 days after, I mean just yesterday, Tesla popped $1,025/share. My $950 gain would have been a $2,910 (N1,309,500.00) gain if I had been patient for only 20 days!

Now am going to have to experience a long wait for a pullback/crash to buy back if it falls under $900 for my long term holding.

Morale of this post:
We are not trading shares, we are literally trading patience.

I've read through some pages and gathered some information. I have downloaded and registered on both Chaka and Trove(awaiting verification).
I have some time on my hands and looking to earn some money but im a novice on investments/trading.

Anyone willing to show me the ropes?

why not harvest your profit, then buy again when it plummets further..
Anyways do your analysis and decide because the market is volatile this period..

I advise that you calm down and begin to get used to the market in terms of it's behaviour.
Short term traders get to sell for quick gains when there is a steep price rise.
The act of selling suddenly creates excess supply of the once rising stock which makes it depreciate for a while.
Sellers will be done selling and prices will pick up again and fly past their previous highs.

Watch and notice that most of these airlines and cruise ships still havent hit the half way mark of their 52-week highs.
52-week high of DAL - $63.44, AZUL - $44.55, NCLH - $59.78, CCL - $53.34 and so on.
That should tell you their is still room for further gains, except the company you bought is bankrupt or unhealthy.
The market does not move on a straight line.

MODIFIED:
Maybe fears of a second wave of covid-19 may also have a hand as the DOW futures has just plunged further 650 points which will further impact negatively on airline and cruise ship stocks today.
Based on this, you may decide what action to take, whether to sell and buy back later or to hold and weather the storm.

I have seen $4,000 wiped off my portfolio but am not moving an inch. Its less than the gains that have come in.
We have seen worse days in March 2020. It is no longer doom and gloom like it appeared the last time.
I will utilize this moment to cherry-pick those winners that will come down due to this present short term jitters.
This one is more of a shake-out and I refuse to be shaken out. grin
