Long and detailed but i read all through. Her encounter with the 'nice' chinese can not dismise the fact that chinese are racists. We watched the video on how they treated our citizens. They'll pay for all their atrocities in due time.

She get money. I always tell Nigerians or people in general stop hating people. Imagine some Chinese that have suffered here in the name of rumours or a few bad Chinese. Two wrongs dont make a right

What about the videos we saw.

The no entries for blacks at shops and malls.

The Nigerians on the street been thrown out from hotels.

So because they lodged you in an hotel and gave you food, all of a sudden China is the best country in the world.

You know some people would start “speaking in tongues” seeing free food and other awuuf. It doesn’t matter again what others pass through. But she said her personal experience doesn’t invalidate others

Subduer:
1. Evelyn's narrative sounds as if she's a Mrs John. She also looks like Middle Belt.
2. She didn't say whether she's on a Chinese Government Scholarship, or sabbatical. If she's a beneficiary of Chinese Government money, Nigerians can understand.
3. What she didn't say tells volumes. So she didn't hear that a Nigerian BIT a Chinese nurse. That omission, for a PhD candidate, maybe International.
4. And having to return to China to defend her Dissertation, no reasonable person will expect her not write as she has. Just leave matter for Mattias.
5. Welcome Mummy. Oga must be glad to see his babe back.
if i could have my way i would have given you a factory reset slap , the lady in question was'nt abuse racist in china but here in nigeria a goat is asking if she is a middle belt . racism kill you there

Chines are hospitable by nature and culture. Have wotked with them in the past.

But it doest not change the fact they put the world to this mess either deliberate or carelessly.

She probably wrote this out of duress. Damage control by the Chinese Communist Party. We see you. We are not all foolish wink
Anything truth that comes out of a Communist nation will see the student deported back to their African Nation.
And they will let you take absolutely NOTHING with you.

They've simply asked an African student to help sell this image since Wuhan has opened up.

Interesting write up. I applaud your narratorial skill. While I wont take any side(Nigeria or China), my own headache is; why did Chinese government not inform the world on time to take precautions against covid-19. They seem to have deliberately festered this virus with there sly attitude initially.

really appreciate your first hand reportage. China is a different story of what we might have been fed in the past.
what about the video that went viral, where that Nigeria man was confronting some men in china over maltreatment of some Nigerians and black men? In her own her own words, she said those guys slept outside for about 2 to 3 nites after their quarantine(u shouldtry and sleep outside just for nite in the cold, u will understand), what about the people that where already outside before he joined them?.how comes on of a sudden language became a barrier in a city where they claim is a point for businesses and business man from abroad .

great article madam!
as a patriotic nigerian....i am more concern about your experiences in abuja (which you obviously omitted..reason(s) best known to you)
At least, you were quarantined for 14days upon arrival...
u made us see china from a different prism while u were silent on ur experience within naija
Re: Covid-19: My Tale Of 3 Cities - Evelyn John, A Nigerian Student In Wuhan, China by AreaFada2: 10:39pm On Jun 11, 2020
I believe Evelyn's story.

In the same USA where a white police man Chauvin knelt on Floyd's neck to kill him, over the feud they allegedly had working as security guards previously, some white people show uncommon kindness to black people.

Experiences differ quite often. In 9ja currently some are benefiting from the system. For them there's no better place to be. For many others it's a fine mess.

She could have written anonymously. I feel she told the truth,

We need more Nigerian students to open up. There must have been discrimination but not as bad as we were made to feel. Then again, I think attitude matters. Nigerians can be rude and stubborn and this may not be easily acceptable to many abroad especially when there's a very contagious killer virus flying around;
