Everyone is telling you how to NOT catch #coronavirus, but NO ONE is saying what to do if you get it. Thanks to this nurse in the UK for putting this guide together:
Finally, some sensible advice. From a GP Nurse in the UK.
What I have seen a lot of are recommendations for how to try to avoid getting coronavirus in the first place:
• good hand washing • personal hygiene • social distancing
but what I have NOT seen a lot of is advice for what happens if you actually get it, which many of us will. So as your friendly neighborhood Nurse let me make some suggestions:
If you get Covid-19
You basically just want to prepare as though you know you’re going to get a nasty respiratory bug, like bronchitis or pneumonia. You just have the foresight to know it might come your way!
Things to start doing now:
Get 20 minutes sun on your entire body (or as much as possible) every day. This will dramatically increase your Vitamin D levels, which improves your immune system.
If affordable take a good general supplement, plus 2000mg Vit C a day. Include ZINC, SELENIUM & GLUTATHIONE.
Scott’s Emulsion is a great general tonic (cod liver oil)
Things you should actually buy ahead of time:
*Kleenex*
*Paracetamol*
*Cough medicine* of choice (check the label and make sure you're not doubling up on Paracetamol)
*Zinc lozenges*
*Throat spray* like Andolex or TCP
*Honey and lemon* can work just as well!
*Vicks* vaporub for your chest is also a great suggestion.
*A humidifier* would be a good thing to buy and use in your room when you go to bed overnight. (You can also just turn the shower on hot and sit in the bathroom breathing in the steam)
*If you have a history of asthma* and you have a prescription inhaler, make sure the one you have isn’t expired and refill it/get a new one if necessary.
*Meals* This is also a good time to meal prep: make a big batch of your favorite soup to freeze and have on hand.
*Hydrate* hydrate, hydrate! Stock up on whatever your favorite clear fluids are to drink, though tap water is fine you may appreciate some variety!
*For symptom management* and a fever over 38°c take Paracetamol rather than Ibuprofen.
*Rest lots* You should not be leaving your house! Even if you are feeling better you may will still be infectious for fourteen days and older people and those with existing health conditions should be avoided!
*Wear gloves and a mask* to avoid contaminating others in your house
*Isolate* in your bedroom if not living alone, ask friends and family to leave supplies outside to avoid contact.
*Sanitize* your bed linen and clothes frequently by washing and clean your bathroom with recommended sanitizers.
*You DO NOT NEED TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL unless* you are having trouble breathing or your fever is very high (over 39°C) and unmanaged with meds.
90% of healthy adult cases thus far have been managed at home with basic rest/hydration/over-the-counter meds.
If you are worried or in distress or feel your symptoms are getting worse:
*Pre-existing risks* If you have a pre-existing lung condition (COPD, emphysema, lung cancer) or are on immunosuppressants, now is a great time to talk to your Doctor or specialist about what they would like you to do if you get sick.
*Children* One major relief to you parents is that kids do VERY well with coronavirus, they usually bounce back in a few days (but they will still be infectious) Just use pediatric dosing .
*Be calm and prepare rationally* and everything will be fine. This is to inform us all that the pH for corona virus varies from 5.5 to 8.5.
All we need to do, to beat corona virus, we need to take more of an alkaline foods that are above the above pH level of the Virus.
Some of which are:
*Lemon - 9.9pH* *Lime - 8.2pH* *Avocado - 15.6pH* *Garlic - 13.2pH* *Mango - 8.7pH* *Tangerine - 8.5pH* *Pineapple - 12.7pH* *Dandelion - 22.7pH* *Orange - 9.2pH*
How do you know you have coronavirus?
1. Itching in the throat 2. Dry throat 3. Dry couch 4. High temperature 5. Shortness of breath 6. Loss of sense of taste & smell 7. Covid toes - toes turning blue/black 8. Repeated sneezing.
Some or all of the above
So where you notice these things quickly take warm/hot water with lemon and drink. (You may add chopped garlic, ginger, teaspoon turmeric )
Do not keep this information to yourself only. Pass it to all your family and friends. Where did you get this info from..Are you sure they are correct? We are dealing with human lives here. The reason why I have my reservation with this write-up is because I doubt whoever wrote it is a Professional- either medic or scientist. Otherwise he/she wouldn't make the elementary error of giving the pH of certain food values as high as 22.7 and 15.6 when we all know from basic sciences that pH values cannot exceed 14, 0-6 (acidic), 7 (neutral) and 8-14 (alkaline). I'd be very careful to take the recommendation of such a person seriously. 8 Likes |

myvproblem is that the asymptomatic may carry it to those who may not be so Strong to combat true. But it's the infection rate that is the problem and it's non-lethal nature for some people allows it to seep through to infect those that are truly vulnerable. But malaria treatment would mean it only exhibits malaria symptoms though? I don't know the intricacy of how treatment really works but what about other symptoms? Surely malaria drugs can't take care of that right? 2 Likes |

BAZ001: Everybody come ooh. NCDC in Lagos don dey overwhelmed already, (though it is expected going with the numbers of positive cases)
Someone went for covid19 test and the test result came out positive after 17days. (During d self isolation while waiting for result d person had symptoms/ slight illness and was busting immune system, hot water, chloroquine, ginger and all.) by the time result came he was already feeling better. So NCDC phoned that they will come and pick him since he was positive.
My brothers and sisters that was May nah June we dey NCDC still dey come. He come go do test again last week and result came out this week negative. During lockdown Govt said they will give palliatives - nothing Govt will give 2 months electricity bill free - nothing.
Now govt might not test or treat Covid 19 for free again after sometime. You will be taking care of yourself as if na malaria. Typical of Nigerian govt where her citizens device means to survive ( Generator for power, bole hole for water, self medication cos if u wait for govt you go wait tire.)
So it's better you stay safe no use money wey u suppose take chop dey go treat Covid of which no known treatment yet. You presented a clear reason, why it might be a more prudent idea to go get infected now, especially if you are young and health. If you look at the trend, it appear eventually no one will be spared, everyone will encounter it knowingly or unknowingly....so, why wait till later when health facilities be overwhelm, the government will no longer treat people and no free accommodation and free food for two weeks? Why not get it now, when those palliatives are still on the table, and get your immunity against getting Re infected later when the thing will start blowing through town with furry. 2 Likes |

Well Seems Covid19 will be around for a while we should start learning how to live with it. It's not a death sentence unless you have underlying sickness. People that said we have more than 100,000 cases in Nigeria might be right after all we haven't tested 1% of the population.
My Educated illiterates analyzing how this is fake In Nigeria but it is real abroad make una continue.
But death rate is scary o Ncdc duty is to announce figures.Whether true or false. They are statisticians. |

myvproblem is that the asymptomatic may carry it to those who may not be so Strong to combat COVID-19 is caused by a virus and malaria is caused by a protozoa. The body immune cells that attack and keep vigilance against malaria parasite can't mount response against an unknown entity cos it's new to the system. In addition, globally 98% of COVID-19 patients are either assymptomatic or have mild to moderate symptoms, hence it's no rocket science to assume such here too. Besides you have no verifiable data to prove your claims and considering COVID-19 has been shown to attack more people of colours including blacks your theory won't possibly suffice as it's grossly defective. Brazil, SA etc are tropical countries and COVID-19 ain't taking it easy on them. The only reason you have got lesser statistics in Nigeria are simply cos we massively undertesting (less than 0.1% of our population so far) and our poor data keeping system due to socioeconomic factors. Lastly, COVID-19 and malaria are two separate entities with different symptomatology, pathophysiology, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis. Don't get it twisted! 1 Like |
