So what? nothing special about it. We have hundreds of them here in Nigeria. The only problem we have is poor maintenance culture.

I have been enjoying the various pictures of some of the universities in Nigeria posted on Nairaland, and I have decided to post pictures of my alma mater the University Of Ghana which I believe has one of the most beautiful campuses in West Africa with a lot Greenery and infrastructure with an environment conducive for effective learning and teaching.

Located on and around the hills of Legon (Translated to knowledge Hill in the Ga language of Ghana ) Just some few Kilometers from Accra city center UG has always been the pride of Ghana producing some of the most prominent people and leaders in Ghana.

Wow this brings back so much memories. I didn't see my hall o Akuafo hall cry stayed in Annex A, 2nd floor. very beautiful school and serene environment. Oh memories.

Niqqa you have 200 million population, you're supposed to atleast 10 university in best category. I did not see any Nigerian school in top 10 when I check best university in Africa. Even KNUST came first at 14th in the whole of West Africa. Why did you have to lie? I guess deep down you know Why

Magnificent edifices plus conducive learning environment
Re: Aerial And Ground Pictures Of The University Of Ghana by Nobody: 7:25am On Jun 12, 2020
The first comment page has said it all. Nigeria is a mediocre country but the day of rebellion is nigh. One day we will get angry and we will smoke out this useless cabal at the top. Class struggle is indeed inevitable.

Forget those numbers please. In Ghana a single 4 story building looking like an average hotel in Nigeria can be called a university. Infact, many private Nigerian primary schools have more land and buildings compared to Ghana. NYSC should stop those graduates from serving because most universities in Ghana are not worth the name. If I remember I will snap the pix of a popular destination for Nigerian students in Ghana. The first is called university of westconsine (not sure of spelling) just one 4 story building only. The second is called Pentecost university also 1 large 5 story building only. Their is even one close to my house but can't remember the name but it's just looking like a 4 bedroom flat. Another one was called a college before but now they award degrees so I guess they upgraded to university that is also one large tower looking like zenith bank head office in Victoria island Lagos that also I one building university. The list is endless. Their is room for improvement in Nigeria but Ghana is just a waste of time. Infact the degrees are funny imagine fashion design, their was one degree I heard it was almost like a sentence. Will snap some if am chanced and send to this thread.

Well I don't know what you mean by ''only 2 Universities''?

A Country of about 30 Million population,
12 Public Universities,
10 Public Technical Universities,
48 Teacher Training Schools
30 Public Nursing Training Colleges and 16 Private Nursing training Colleges
5 Public Agriculture Training Colleges
Other public and Private institutes/Colleges and
Over 50 Private Universities

You are wrong,
KNUST was ranked the best in West Africa last year 2019. https://yen.com.gh/137451-knust-ranked-university-west-africa-by-us-news-world-report.html
And it has consistently been ranked higher in Africa

1--ASHESI UNIVERSITY
2--UPSA and
3--UG have always been among the first 10 best Universities by UN SDG ranking

Different ranking agency with a different methodology. Besides, The US NEWS agency isn't part of the three most recognised ranking agencies - ARWU, QS & THEducation. It is a good ranking agency but mostly targeted at a US' not global audience and is not mentioned in global surveys compared to those three. Most schools outside the US do not mention it in their news portals or brochure to foreign students. Yes, Nigeria is bad but on this issue of highly ranked universities, Nigerian universities did quite well considering the malasie in the country. I was surprised to see more than three Nigerian universities highly ranked by THEducation.

You are shifting the goalpost. Not having 24hrs electricity power supply is horrible and I have over the years on NL complained bitterly about it. However, on this issue of highly ranked universities, infrastructure is not a major criterion in assessing universities' strengths and Nigerian universities are doing well as adjudged by a major ranking higher education agency. If you are not happy by the ranking of Nigerian universities because of lack of constant electricity, please contact THEducation and make your complaints.

Do you think electricity is not infrastructure? You must think only buildings are infrastructure. You really have no idea awht you're talking about.

OK. This one here doesn't have Covenant as fourth https://www.4icu.org/top-universities-africa/

This one doesn't have any Nigerian university in top ten https://www.usnews.com/education/best-global-universities/africa but has one at number 14, which is KNUST. I will choose this US based website though because it actually uses Clarivate Analytics which is a global leader in providing trusted insightful analytics. That timeshighereducation just seem poorly made.

Well the 4icu as a Nigerian University in top 10. And no THE World University is actually a good ranking website.
